I can't wrap my head around the cane. So many swear by it, but it just seems so weak on my skill guy. I was happy with the saw spear, but when the chunks started to show up, I used them on the cane...and dat regret. At equal levels (str vs skl and weapon lvls), LHB and Captain Kirk seem so much stronger.

was probably the most frustrated I got with a boss since the first two bosses of the game. In all three cases they were so frustrating for me because the camera was pretty shit, mainly due to the arenas being either too small or too cluttered, or a bit of both.

Wow. I love how even after 800+ hours of Souls games, beating a boss can still make my hands sweat and shake.

I checked my hours, so far I've placed 65 hours in this game. And I haven't even beaten it yet. Prob spent 15 hours in Chalice Dungeons. I originally put 100 hours in Dark Souls 2 for my 1st playthrough (and 100% everything (minus covenant stuff)). Looks like I might end up reaching that.
Main:
(all stats are 50 but bloodtinge)
Armor: I just fuck around with whatever looks good, I never really worry about resists or anything (although it does help). I wear the Cainhurst armor.
Weapons: I have two, one for beasts and one for kin. I use the +10 Lost Saw Cleaver, with reduction to dmg to kin for extra dmg in general. The Saw cleaver has hidden 20% extra dmg to beasts so I use this for beast bosses and generally most easy mobs.
2nd weapon is +10 Ludwigs Holy blade, I have decreased dmg against beasts for extra dmg overall (I don't go magic dmg on this, I use physical dmg gems since I have some great ones). So I used this for all kin bosses and non beast hard enemies. Also has a great utility moveset with R2/2handed. Long range makes a lot of bosses and mobs easy to cheese.
I also have a +10 cannon I use for bosses.
I really liked the hunter axe, it doesn't do the most dmg but the moveset, specifically the 2 hand R2 is so OP for pretty much everything. I don't use it anymore but it's great for str builds and playing it safe while making most of bosses and mobs a joke.

Compared to some of these chalice dungeon bosses, she's a cakewalk. Once you figure it out, she has a very predictable pattern. Cameras are always a bitch with all the large bosses. I don't know why From Software can't program the camera to level out and pan back if the locked-on target gets close and above you to prevent the camera from fucking up.

True ending requirements question:I just want to make sure I don't do anytime stupid.Do you have to consume the 3 umbilical cords during the boss fight? Or can you consume them anytime before? And if I die during said fight, is the true ending locked forever (until NG+)?
You can
consume them before you talk to Gerhman. And if you die then you can just retry the fight.

. Platinum done and time to step away from Bloodborne for a bit. Had a lot of fun and enjoyed it as much as DeS and DS. Finally diving into GTAV for the first time now, but maybe I'll hit up DS2 after that.

There are some obscure hints here and there though. The notes in the
Lecture Room
"Three Umbilical Cords" and a "Moon Presence", but yeah, as far as I know, there is no way to know that you are supposed to consume them before the boss fight.
Well, time to beat the game then. ~55 hours. Best game of this gen so far for me. I will take a break from it though, and will come back sporadically to progress in the chalice dungeons.
Can't wait to dive in the lore and spoilers thread! As with the previous games, I'm not sure I understood the story lol.

So many disconnects tonight.
Quick wide range that can even hit targets to your side. Perfect for quickly dispatching mobs. It's been my main. R1 normal mode is very quick and can stop enemies from attacking as you wail on them. I'm lvl 90.

I'm I full skill build and I really loved the cane. Now once I got the Blades of Mercy those became my favorite weapon. The moveset is insane. I just bought the Burial Blade after killing last boss but I need more chunks to level it nicely for my NG+ to really start using that. Both my cane and blades or at +9 i missed blood rock on my first playthrough

What y'all think about the Reiterpallasch? Gonna try it out with a +40 SKL and +30 BLT build. I've been reading around that it's quite the underrated weapon from a PVE and a PVP standpoint.

Burial blade is awesome, great for zoning and staggering humanoid enemies. It has, imo, the best transform animation in the game.
Haha man. Me and you buddy. Only fought around three times so far but already frustrated. Don't have the riposte timing yet and when he gets all buffed out he actually stunlocks me in combos.
Yeah it does. I'm pressing l1 constantly just to see it.

Yea I played with it a little just not doing enough in NG+ for me. But I'm not far in Chalices so been playing with it in there the transform attack is sweet
What are some of your favourite combos in the game?
I know the Axe's R2 spin in halberd mode is great but I'm really loving the thing's moveset in general. The non-charged R2 is also fantastic in its own right. R2->R1 does a double over head very quickly and is great for single targets due its range and speed. You can follow that by another R1 which will poke or a bit riskier but cooler looking L1 which will switch to 1h axe mode while doing a leaping over head. Yup, three consecutive overheads.

For like 1/4 of the game, the Axe was Spin2Win4Me, but in general it does have a great moveset. I always stayed in its transformed mode.
I also like Ludwig's transformed L2 attack, it's an automatic to most enemies and I can R1 combo them to death after that.
You still should for everyone else.

Finally done with Unseen Village, good riddance. It was both amazing and incredibly frustrating.
Paarl was a pushover at level 60, not so much when I tried him earlier. One Reborn wasn't so bad, but my god, what twisted design. onwards and upwards I guess.

invaded playing solo in both nightmare zones until you find bell ringer and kill her or I believe once boss is dead she desapwns

Yep, you can. There's two npc hunters that spawn to fight you if there isn't another player available to fight you, so you're guaranteed to fight someone until you kill the bell ringer(or kill the boss).
