Bloodborne |OT+++| ...and so the Nightly Hunt continues

I'm very close to thinking this game is better than Demon's but the boss gallery of Demon's still just pushes it over the other games and Bloodborne specifically for me.

That's a stretch but if there is... holy shit!
Here is my thinking:

We got two normal endings, and then a pro-Great One ending. Yet there are two sides to the coin: beasts, and kin. Why isn't there an ending where you can transcend the hunt through being a beast? It feels odd that there is SO much secret content, and a lot of it is geared toward embracing the beast within yourself. Gascione has secret dialogue if you wear Beast Claws, you can befriend Djura if you promise to harm no more beasts in Old Yharnam, and the suspicious man in the woods says Hunters are just like beasts. A lot of conversations ask you to reflect on what the hunt is really about. It feels...incomplete that the only real choice you make is to go along with what Oedon has wanted all along.

Plus, so much stuff is an incredible secret. Four people to rescue? I thought there were three! You can propose marriage to the Vileblood Queen. You can bet your butt there is more to find!

are there any secret walls that work the way the ones in dark souls 2 did?
In chalice dungeons, yes.

The fuck?

Needed to farm some vials and I randomly chose a place to travel to from hunter's dream, was shown the message "not functioning at this time" or some sich.

Is this as intended or is something amiss?

So that big thing near the +10 stone , is that a boss or something? i jumped into that black hole but... no luck in there.

If you go back to the area with all the
hairless dark skin little dudes you'll find an elevator. It'll be in an area with the floor crumbling away.
Enjoy from there.

God I forgot how fucking great this game was after putting 50 hours into the new Dark Souls 2. Please, just give us some more build variety in BB2. Thats all I ask.

Might be some nice gear in the DLC, whenever that happens.

I want more, myself. I've played through the game 6 times with different characters and builds, and without fail, every time I get to the final boss I feel immensely sad that there's nothing left to do.

I mean yeah, Chalice Dungeons are fine but they don't touch the main story levels in terms of fun.

Have you tried an arcane build? How did it do?

I actually wondered if someone could main the Hunter Torch. It is upgradeable and has good scaling.

Did a full run with arcane (pumped it up to 40 early).

It's... not bad but underwhelming, You're pretty much stuck to Ludwig's holy blade if you want strong scaling early on (or ever, really). You can roll with any of the starting weapons but you won't get strong scaling from it.

The benefit is exploiting enemy weaknesses so you can adapt and deal great damage based on who you're fighting but in general it didn't feel great.

The spells are fun but they're not exceptionally great because most of them cost so much quicksilver. Old Hunter Bone in particular is fun but costs too much to use frequently (and often not incredibly necessary to use).

Btw, there is a locked door in N
ightmare
of M
ensis across a bridge with many items/gems, after the area with the brain maidens and the human-faced spiders.
Does anyone know something about it?

So I finally got round to plying this last night and it's pretty good, I guess.

Ah, it's fucking glorious.

The visuals, the sound, the thick and bone chilling atmosphere, it's simply incredible.

The combat is probably the best I've encountered in a third person action game. The fluidity, the responsiveness, it's just tweaked to perfection. This is what From have been leading up to since Demon's, it's going to be extremely difficult going back to Dark if it doesn't incorporate a lot of the changes they've made to the combat here.

And the blunderbuss. Sweet Jesus, the blunderbuss is a goddamn revelation. I initially thought I'd hate it, but after using it, I'm madly in love and again, I can't imagine going to Dark and not having the option to using this wonderful beast.

The difficulty isn't as high as I expected though. Not sure if that's my veteran Demon/Dark skills shining through, but I've only died like 8 times in the three hours I played.

I'm glad about this though, the load times are obscene. Where's that patch, FROM?

The enemies are pretty fantastic too, some really fucked up and nightmarish designs.

This is honestly FROM's best game to date. They've not only knocked it out of the park, they've outdone themselves in a way a I thought a developer never could and I don't envy the task of making Dark Souls 3 an even better game...

Lol. Awesome man, love the impressions! Amazing game, so fucking GLORIOUS and I completely agree with you. BB>DS1>DS>DS2

Yea I agree, I really really hope there is DLC, and I hardly ever ask for that normally. I just hope they continue on with the franchise instead of stepping away like they did with DeS. I'm on play through #3 going with a full skill build with some bloodtinge, rocking the Blades of Mercy at +6 and the rifle spear a backup, so good.

Axe seriously breaks the game. You can apparently even throw this boss through the walls to kill it with this technique.

Also some people had problems
Amygdala
in Defiled Chalice.

Almost no damage run.

The key in the first and second phase is to know what moves leave her most open. Attack once or twice when that happens. Third phase could be done probably faster if you manage to dodge attacks in front of her. Problem with that approach is though that her cooldown is much faster so atleast I had problems hitting her. What I found to be easiest way is just stay behind her all the time as she can't attack there.

Spider pigs. Mother of god.

Im in front of him, and he has almost zero HP, do i have to kill him? something bad is goign to happen...

Ok, I'm lost as fuck.

I lightly consulted a guide, and I apparently skipped Cainhurst castle. I went from Forbidden Woods --> Byrgenwerth --> Moonlight Lake. Now I'm stuck on some asshole boss in Yahar'gul that was birthed from a black sun. This fucker has way too much health. >:(

You can go to Cainhurst Castle later, don't worry.

The One Reborn is really easy. Make sure you kill the bell casters, then just hit and run. Unlocked plays better for large bosses like this 'cause the camera can go bonkers.

I honestly don't think I can go back to Dark Souls after playing this game. I tried to play DS2 a bit yesterday and I'm not feeling it at all. I really hope we'll see BB2 directed by Miyazaki someday.

I'm in NG+ and I can't seem to find a tonsil stone like I did in my first playthrough. I got it from the slums near the great cathedral but now I'm out of luck. Are there any other spots I can get it from?

Thanks! It's good to know it's a surmountable challenge, because I was about to hulk-smash...

Okay guys, I could use some advice on
Blood-Starved Beast
, the 2nd optional boss. Any helpful hints here? I'm using an axe and a pistol at the moment.
Circle-strafe to the left (The boss's right) and try to get behind the boss. Whenever the boss freezes facing towards you, it's getting ready to pounce for a (Basically insta-kill) grab, so get the hell out of its way. Keep antidotes in the quick items menu. Fire Paper is your friend if you have any.

Throw
blood cocktails. He will heads towards it for swing twice before he attacks you. And summon Alfred. His summon sign is to the toght once you get down the stairs

I got to the final boss and got the boss to 15% health!!! So close yet so far.

The PvP battles I had on accident helped me get that close.

Now I have to farm vials and bullets since after a decent amount of attempts I'm below 20 of each.

Damn you Gerhman!

Honestly, I thought this boss was trivial in both NG and NG+. I just dodged left at his attacks, then came back in to hit 'em. At his later stages, when he gets super aggressive, I was just more careful about when I took the opportunity to attack.

Bring some antidotes to deal with the poison, and make sure you're at 20 vials. Other than that..just lock-dodge to his left and hit 'em in the face/back.

I got mine from a small house in H
emwick Lane
, at the top of the small path that leads from the first area to the elevator.

I got mine
from talking through a window to a guy in the Forgotten woods

Yea I played DS2:SOTFS from BB on Tuesday and I appreciated a few things about it like the build diversity, 60fps, slower paced combat with a shield. The thing is everything else is lacking like boss design, world design, art style and some really frustrating mechanics/encounters that they just make hard because FUCK IT, its Dark Souls. Its still a good game to me but BB is something else entirely, something special, something I'm going to be playing for a long time, and my first real platinum (I'm not a trophy guy). I really thought back when it was revealed that the faster paced doge combat wouldn't be my thing, but its really fun, they just need to tweak the multiplayer to make it more consistent and maybe down the load times a bit.

I think you get it
from any NPC after you kill vicar

so happy...
We just popped Amydgala. I ended up having to level up to add 1 point in VIT.
That extra point helped me to survive the foot stomp. They tweaked this game to an uncanny science.

Do I need to use the umbilicals? I have 3, do they do anything aside from the endings?
