I still haven't figured out what visceral attacks are. Maybe it's cause I'm two-handing the axe or something

Easiest one to demonstrate:

1. Line up behind an enemy that's unaware of you. Get close enough so that your charged R2 attack will hit it.

2. Hold down R2 until your charge attack goes off. You'll hear a bell sound when this happens. The enemy will fall forward on to its knees when you hit it.

3. Move slightly forward until you're almost touching the enemy and tap R1 once. You have almost a full second to hit R1 after you stagger an enemy.

4. Profit.

Forsaken Cainhurst Castle ?
What tactics/weapon you gonna use for the boss?

I'm not talking about the boss.
Those things inside the castle, where the lamp is.

I tried them 5 times, then just ran past them.

It was easy once I figured out what I had to do. Took out the other enemies so that I didn't have to worry about them attacking me. Axe spin does wonders though in that fight.

I killed one until i realised they were going to keep coming back. Made no sense to me to bother with them. Better to focus your attacks on the main enemy. It helped that they walk slow.

It is the easiest boss in the game. Viscerals are the way to go in that fight.

I stunned her alot with the R2 charge attack, but i couldn't do a visceral afterwards. Maby i was standing slightly off.

I am kinda unsure about where I am meant to go now. So far I have killed (in order):

Ok, I guess the mini guide does list the cleaver and saw as having the bonus to certain types of beasts. Nice.

None of them gain 20% extra dmg against beasts. Its false info

EDIT: Well fuck me after some fast research it seems that alot of the weapons have "hidden" attributes. Though it doesnt seem to be as high as 20%

A bug that is present in the German localisation of the game. The sounds are probably sped up, that's why they scream so high pitched.

It depends on the boss. Uusually, attacking one spot will eventually cause them fall and be susceptible to visceral attacks.

Same as normal enemies. Get balls deep into their face and press R1. If you do a normal swing you might be doing it too soon.

I can get Father Gascionge down to about 1/4 health and then his attacks in beast mode don't let me do anything. He blasts me pretty hard as I cannot successful dodge enough to even turn to attack him. Endless loop of smash, roll (but not far enough away), smash, roll. It's kinda funny actually...

The backstab IS the Visceral Attack. You can stun bosses into it. Cleric Beast, for example: if you hit him in the head some times, he will be one for it. It takes 2 molotovs, or 5 shots, or some hard hits, all to the head.

I found that rolling towards him when he would raise up for a swipe would almost always successfully evade the attack. Then you can do 2 or 3 hits before backing up and doing it again. Also, the

Nope, just go back to where you fought him and you should find the bridge. It's still there

Go up the spiral stairs where you went while searching for Micolash in second phase. From there go up some more stairs and you will eventually find it. It leads to lantern.

What should I be going for specifically in the chalice dungeons?

They are boring and pretty easy to follow. Some bosses drop chalice for the next one. First, search all the rooms for materials needed for the next chalice. Find lever / switch to unlock the boss door. Kill the boss and go down to the next layer. Repeat. Once you kill a boss in a big circle room with no other door out. Leave and do the next chalice.

This has reminded me. The picture you posted of all the different gestures, they have diagrams of the controller as if you can do them by shaking the controller a certain way. But I don't know how to do it as it never seems to work for me. Is there a button I need to press too or something.
