Adding to Machinehead's post, once you cause enough damage, the One Reborn will fall, leaving the "main body"(the corpse that casts magic) vunerable, so attack it for extra damage + chance to stagger and keep the enemy in a loop.
Interesting. I also noticed through testing that it is weak to bolt damage, and I managed to take off half his health. Upgraded my Tonitrus to +7 in order to avoid wasting bolt paper. Let's do this!

Just attack him from the side where is tiny legs are. You can stay their practically the entire fight. He will hit you with his tiny legs, but they hardly do any damage which you can easy heal from.
Well he is planning on it, he did a 101 on it. Nightmare Creatures was this week.
My guess is his review policy is he has to complete the game before reviewing it which is fair.

, and dying doesn't replenish antidotes so, if you want to explore, you either already know the area or be prepared to be constantly going back and forth from and to the HD. Not that the enemies or the
poison
are dangerous per se if well prepared, but it is a huge pain in the ass to have
giants throwing boulders at you and/or brains frenzing you and/or those octopus hitting you WHILE poison builds up. If you die, loading for HD, restock antidotes, loading to NF, and pray not to die/use all antidotes before you see everything. The area is not challenging, as all enemies are easy to kill, it is just extremely boring and time consuming. I decided not to count the times I spent sit and waiting for the poison counter to go down just to be sure I would have enough antidotes to get to the end (which I never did because I didn't understand frenzy at that point, and I still somewhat don't - horrible mechanic.
If there were a way to make poison a very minor problem , I'd be ok, but, at best, you can make it not be certain death.
Tl;dr ➙ the lower part of the area is not difficult, but time consuming in the most boring way (sitting and waiting and killing fodder enemies by baiting them), and requires certain equipment to be able to be tackled. It breaks the flow of the game completely and annoys the heck out of me.
Did you kill the bell maidens at the top? Do that first, and then simply stay by its side, hacking it at every chance. Just be careful when it summons a dark red glow, because that means it will drop body parts on top of you. When it happens, move to either side and keep hacking away. Just be watchful of your stamina and Stay away from those arms (as they deal huge damage and may stun lock you), and it'll go down in no time. It is actually a very easy boss, second easiest for me so far.
I didn't even try to kill the bell maidens. is there a ladder going up to them? all I did was go in and hack at the legs and was so close to killing it then all of a sudden I was covered in what looked like oil and I died super fast.
Found her quite easy tbh. Got killed the first time because you surprised me with one of her poison attacks, but the second time was the right one. Another trophy to add to the list.

I agree 100% with this. After I discovered how to find the short custs and run throught the area, I didn't even kill any anemy in my following runs. As soon as the level starts I just run to open the shortcuts and to enter the boss arena. It is the new blight town.
Each chalice goes from 3-4 layers.
You shouldn't need to farm for mats if you search each area so you should have enough mats to make the next chalice.
Chalice doesn't scale with your lvl and/or NG+
Only the Root version are random generated. And, they have the best gems and different gem slot version of the normal game weapons.
1. 4 types, each type has three difficulty levels (base, central, lower.) each difficulty level has 1 "story" version that is fixed and "root" versions which are randomized every time the ritual is performed.
2. Farming mats and gear is the primary purpose of root dungeons. The story dungeons have some gear and equipment. There is not much narrative in the dungeons. They are not critical to completing the story.
3. They don't scale with level or with NG+. Dungeon difficulty is graded by depth (1 easiest, 5 hardest and harder than NG+.)
I tried to zerg it a couple of times but ended up dieing in the last phase. So the first time I started to kill methodically every single add, I won. The rolling attack in the last phase and the adds blocking my way behind were a deadly combo. And still I had some trouble to find out the right direction in which dodging the meteors attack.
nice, yeah the rock dudes where super annoying at first until I killed them.
does anybody know what's up with the spider hanging near the beginning of the NF lvl?? the cut scene was super short and weird.
also I'm addicted to the gravekeeper outfit slash executioner outfit I usually rock a combo of both because after I'm super bloody you cant tell the bad color match

yeah after one of the adds head dived me and took 3/4's of my health I said F that I'll take my time. The meteors weren't a problem as long as I didn't stop circling around him.

Ah, fuck that network down. I had just killed a Chalice boss while they killed me, I was coming back for my bloodstain and bam, network error.
One offline mode and two loading screens later, I'm back where I was, except my bloodstain is nowhere to be seen now.

Can anyone help me? I'm trying to do a mostly spoiler/guide free play-through, but I've struggled with one or two things and I need a bit of help.
I have cleared the first few zones, and I've just done Forbidden Woods followed by Cainhurst Castle, killing bosses in both locations. However, I've been told that killing
Rom the Spider
makes irreversible changes to the game. I guess I must be pretty close to the guy. Can anyone give me a list of suggested tasks before I take him on? I have just joined the
Vilebloods covenant
but only because I accidentally saw how to do it. I have no idea how to join the others or whether it's even worth it, but I would like to try. Any other things I need to do now?
Well, to be fair, it wouldn't make a lot o diference, as FROM gaves the ability to roll for 5 hours straight, made it faster than running and it doesn't slow down even when going through swamps lol
