Defiled watch dog is fucking ruining me.

I have been trying this thing for an hour now. The most I can do to it is half of its health, before it kills me.

Try to strafe right (someone here gave this tip and it worked well for me) when you land those hits, if it does that charge move it'll likely whiff even if you don't dodge in time. When it goes into phase 2 it's more aggressive but you can still apply the same strategy, more or less. Also remember rule #1 of Souls combat: Do Not Get Greedy.

Speaking of fire dogs, iIf anyone's interested, I have a Lower Ailing Loran dungeon open with a 10% fire resist rune in layer 1 (and a slow poison resist rune +300 in layer 3), plus an uncanny burial blade and some other goodies. Glyph code 4jgecv28. I dunno if that'd help surviving the dog's attacks, but it can't hurt.

defiled a seems like complete luck if it hits u with its jump attack. It is a one hit kill
Yeah I hate that thing. I usually avoid it, but I can't say I really know how or why. Seems to be dumb luck, sometimes it seems to land squarely on me but the hitbox is strange and it does nothing (even allows me to get some free hits on its head). One time she spammed it and killed me right by the end of the fight, I raged so hard:

Did get her in the end but man that one time I wanted to cry. xD

Is there a shortcut near the
One Reborns
boss door? Or are there only two in that area, because screw this area lol its like a battlefield man.

yes.
the elevator to right of the first lamp in yhargul, then you can run to the saucer/bath to teleport. it brings you just to left of the boss door

So C
elestial
E
missary
is by far the easiest boss in this entire game. Just find the right one until he gets big and whack him to death. I have a feeling there is something bigger lurking for me though.
Oh, I can't wait... hee hee

yes.

That elevator was bugged for me in NG+, weirdly enough. It just wouldn't go up at all when I stepped on the plate. Didn't need it since I killed TOR easily but that was weird. Worked fine in NG.

I've been trying, but I can't get in when it enters its second phase because it keeps reseting its bite combo before I can move away after getting a hit in.

I am running out of blood vials too. I hate grinding for them.

So should I be at the nightmare of menisis? I beat the old reborn guy, the reason I ask is because I am not doing much damage to these guys...

Also do chalice dungeons give you echoes? I have done one yet at all. How do you even get to them?

How do you evade Ebrietas' charge attack ? How ? HOW DO YOU FUCKING DODGE IT !??!
Wait until she charges and dodge 2x side ways.

And, for you volley, lock on, keep spamming dodge moving left or right for sets them. For the 3rd volley, this is the key. Afterward, wait a split sec and hit dodge again.

Patience my dear friend. My fight with him took over 11 minutes. One fight even went over 15 minutes when he killed me while he had 1% HP left. Patience is the key.

yes you are in the right place, but now might be a good time to clear some of the optional areas. I would point you in the direction of the
upper cathedral ward
or even
Cainhurst
if you have yet to do that.

I am in no way good at Bloodborne so this may be painful to watch for some of you vets but I had to share this extremely close boss fight with
vicar amelia
that I just did.

So I got a little too cocky when I whittled her down to a quarter or so health and ended up with almost zero health, twice, and then just as I'm about to deal the final blow, this happens.

Let's just say I ran back there straight away shitting myself thinking I had failed. Haha.

I am getting better at it. The last attempt, I was able to take it down to 1/2 without using a blood vial

Okay, I've been wandering around for an hour trying to get to this item in the
Nightmare Frontier.
Can someone tell me how to get there?

It also took me awhile to figure it out. Been awhile, so I hop my memory is correct, but I think you need to go up, best is to use the bridge at the beginning that you made from dropping the stone pillar. Then go right across the bridge. From there, I think it's the path near the area where the you get knocked off.

Well haven beaten Father Gascoigne I can say this is the furthest I have gotten in any 'Souls' game. As in two bosses down. Does it give your playtime anywhere? I feel like I've probably spent far to long just getting this far.

At the title screen, choose Load instead of Continue. You can see your save file and it'll show your playtime.

Boo, was just about to order the Bloodborne guide for the premium theme, and well, I want the hardcover guide since it was 25.

Well they went and upped it to 35 =/ Oh well can wait for it now.

Took a one-week trip, maybe forgot some stuff, and now I think I'm lost. So the last thing I did before I left was
beat Rom, the world turned to shit, I visited Central Yarnham, and left things off at the Yahar'gul Chapel with those two hunters and their pal. Today I beat those three and cleared out the area. I'm not sure where to go next. There was a message on the ground about how I should find a newborn but I can't remember where I should go next.

If anyone could nudge me in the right direction without telling me exactly where to go, that would be great.

Nice, you were really kicking ass there in the beginning.

I had something similar happen with
The Blood Starved Beast
. After a few attempts, I beat it, turned to get a high-five from my GF and turned back the screen to get the YOU DIED message from slow poison. My death showed up in the trophy photo.

haha, too greedy at the end (no. 1 cause of death in souls games)

But this was pretty good actually.

Haha damn horrible feeling huh! What's worse is I was having real trouble killing this boss too. Killed CB first time, FG after about 4 attempts, BSB after 2 attempts and then about 10 attempts on this boss lol. Then I was reading up on a lot of guides saying VA is one of the easiest bosses and I was like wut O.O

I put this game down saturday afternoon and decided I was done with it until DLC (I have over 120 hours on it already).

I am not getting the urge to reroll a char for PvP... Skill-Blood......

Ugh.... I bought cities skylines which is fun, but the urge is strong.

From the main lamp, you need to go to the left (and if you have opened a short-cut you can keep going left and this skips the
rock throwing boulder guys
) but if not, then like the other guy said, turn right toward bell maiden, go through a tunnel with a werewolf guardian and when you come out on the other sde there is a series of
boulder throwing giants.
..pass all threee, progress to the higer ground and you will see a previously overhead bridge to cross....only then can you get to that particualr item.

due to the memory leak glitch I would be wary of using boss guides to much.

I have watched guides from people (who must have had the glitch) only to play it myslef and find their tactic unusable.

Having beating VA, 4 times, I think 2 times she was glitch. I was able to stay off her flank and barely got hit. The other 2 times she rotated very quickly and was swiping and lunging frequently.

Sidequest spoilers:
The hunter you need to kill to finish Eileen's quest is kicking my ass so hard on NG+, I know he's easy to cheese but I want to do it right.

Yeah I heard about this. Something about some bosses becoming easier after leaving the game on for like 10 hours right? I'd only played it for about 1 hour before I gave VA a go, but yeah I had seen some videos that just looked way too easy. Like literally she was just standing still. Definitely looked odd.

GOD DAMNIT!

I had it down to one or two hits left, and suddenly it charges me after not using that move for a long time.

I could have probably ended it earlier, but I am too scared to go in for an attack because I don't know if it will follow up immediately. But I am getting this down.

Keep looking around that area. You're close. Just keep following the route you were taking. You may stumble across a
boss
or two.

All the chalice stuff I've done so far have been boring as crap. Even with the difficulty spikes. Anyone actually like them? >_>

Just not as fun as the wide open space above. Especially when you're doing like 10 dungeons in a row things start looking the same and it's just kinda meh.

Congrats! What did you think of that trophy boss fight?
Thanks :)
the queen? She was easier than I thought. Her lift up attack and those 3 blood bullets took my by suprises at first but once I saw it a few times, I was able to avoid it. Still think the watchdog on the cursed dungeon was much harder. Also wonder what the item she drop is ised for as well.
either way, amazing game and can't wait for any dlc if it's release :)

Ok what the heck am I supposed to do in the fight against M
icolash
I thought he was going to be the easiest boss yet but then he started teleporting through a bunch of mirrors and after going around the area for about 20 min killing skeletons i finally found him behind a door that I can't open, Also found a key but I don't know where to use it.. GAF halp!

That shit still counts! As long as "Prey Slaughtered" appears before "You Died", you're all good. Nice work :)

Anyone close to Father Gascoigne and able to co-op with a level 27 character to give me a hand? Co-op I'd either broken or there's no-one playing in the same areas as me which I find quite hard to believe.

Edit - never mind, I got the bastard.

if you go into rest mode with bloodborne still running (you dont have to have a file loaded, just the game running) you will get the glitch. Thats how I got it. I have beaten all of the bosses at least once without the glitch (and the defiled chalice w/o glitch) but you wont know you have it until you get to a boss and they act like they are drunk.

It affects some bosses more than others. Makes a huge difference on
VA, Logarious, Amagdala, not as much with bosses like FG, CB, Gerhman, Blood Lettling Beast, Watchdogs, etc.

But as far as I can tell it affects all bosses to some extent.

Go up the stairs. You need to
drop into that room from the balcony

Nice fight man. That dodge at the end saved your ass!

I need help once again ><

I'm at M
argo's Loft Base
; I got into the castle, took the stairs down, and took an elevator in the middle of that room with the little dudes and the big dudes in armour. It took forever to reach down. Now, I am at a completely dark area and have no idea how to see things. Apparently, there are messages telling "time for contact" but I have no idea what they mean.

BTW M
icolash's fight was awesome. Thankfully, I had the idea to poison him from above in the last area; helped the fight A TON. His arcane damage is insane at that point.

Anyone?
