Bloodborne |OT+++| ...and so the Nightly Hunt continues

I cant seem to unlock a specific area. When you exit the Cathedral Ward, go left through the big gate ( where a giant is waiting) then u meet two big guys and some crows and the again a Giant. There is a door in that area with a chest next to it. I cant open it but cant reach it from any other side.

Any advice?

That's the door to the great bridge where you fought the Cleric Beast. It was locked by the Healing Chruch when the hunt started to block the beasts inside central Yharnam.

I still think there's more to it.
It says "locked" just like the door in
the cathedral ward (right, after the bonfire)

There has to be some way to unlock it. Otherwise they would have removed the "locked" message, imo.

I'm in NG++ now, level 190. Platinumed.

I created a new character last night and got to G
ehrman
on six hours. I am level 82, my stats are...:

Vitality: 25
Endurance: 25
Strength: 25
Skill: 22
Bloodtinge: 25
Arcane: 10

I decided I wanted to make a well rounded character but with a focus on Strength, vitality, and Bloodtinge as soon as skill hits 25.

My main weapons are...:

Kirkhammer +10
Chikage +7 (trying to +10 it)
and soon to be fire based lost burial blade, going to +10 that

I do have a few questions...:

What is the best level to do PvP at? I heard debate from blood level 100 or 120...20 additional levels make a huge difference.

Where is the beat area to invade anyways?

As soon as skill hits 25, vitality + strength + bloodtinge are going to be boosted. However, since I'm using the three weapons mentioned earlier....maybe it would be better to focus purely on vitality and bloodtinge, with strength and skill being split?

I appreciate the response, guys. I love this game, I am a huge FromSoftware fan.

Okay, I've been wandering around for an hour trying to get to this item in the
Nightmare Frontier.
Can someone tell me how to get there?

It looks like you can jump that gap.

NVM. I think I'm seeing things. It looked like the gap is shorter to the right but I think my eyes are just playing tricks on me.

No there isn't trust me.

"When The hunt Began, the Healing Church left us, blocking the great bridge to Cathedral Ward, as Old Yharnam burned to the ground that moonlit night."

From a note in the house below the bridge, near the wheelchair guy. Reading notes helps :)

Two more bosses down for me last night

Took down the Witch and Rom on my first try each. Bit dicey at times, but pulled it off none the less.

This brings my total killed to:

Father G, Cleric B, Blood starved beast, Vicar A, Shadows, Witch, and Rom.

Also took down a Few NPC hunters. Good times.

Now, where to go?

I have the nightmare unlocked due to being grabbed by the huge freaking thing near Grand Cathedral, but i'm not sure If I should take that on (nightmare), or go do The unseen village bosses. I'm edging toward that to get my chunks collection started, to get my saw cleaver to +9. Also have a holy blade, and the electric mace thing to worry about leveling.

It still could be a hidden area or some kind of
portal
like in the
lecture building
.

I read the note btw :P

Gents, I'm progressing nicely I think. I've just done Witches, and I've opened the door with the password which leads to the forest, do I have any other paths available to me? Has something opened elsewhere, any NPC's I can further interact with. From my initial frustrations with the game (my fault not the game) I think I'm well and truly settled in. Must be over 20hrs in, currently at lvl 53 with my original weapon at +6. Always great seeing a totally new area. It's been said many times before but the art style truly is exceptional! Anyway any info would be just swell.

Just quoting in case anyone missed my post and could possibly answer it? :D

Have you taken a ride in the bag to the Unseen Village?

Has anyone given you a Tonsil stone and a suggestion of where to visit with it?

I'm currently stuck on this asshole, looks like I have to buy some bullets.

Otherwise he's a scumbag. When he buffs he's even more dangerous.

I'm considering taking a break from the game. I really want the plat, but the chalice dungeons are a real test of patience.

oil urn & fire paper are your friends

Well haven beaten Father Gascoigne I can say this is the furthest I have gotten in any 'Souls' game. As in two bosses down. Does it give your playtime anywhere? I feel like I've probably spent far to long just getting this far.

Just move forward with the level and forget about it for now, the tunnels circle back pretty quickly from where you're supposed to go.

I'm pretty sure it says "Closed" not locked; some doors say closed and then open later where as others say locked and open with a key..

Or I could be imagining that.

I think it doesn't open but might be part of DLC or just forever a mystery

Seriously, what level should I be at at
Yahar'gul
after Rom
? I'm like 61 now. I feel that's low.

Getting my ass handed to me by the
three hunters in the chapel.

Man, the charred skeletons lining the sides of the main road though U
nseen Village
are really creepy. They are all huddled as if trying to climb up the walls. Children too. Embedded in the walls/doors.

Is this touched on anywhere in the lore? What happened there?

A ritual to "beckon the moon". Probably resulted in whatever The One Reborn is.

Defiled watch dog is fucking ruining me.

I have been trying this thing for an hour now. The most I can do to it is half of its health, before it kills me.

Im about to start a first playthrough of this game. Does adding minor weight, in armor, result in subtle changes to Dash? Or is it more obvious like in prior Souls, where every increase of about 30% criples ur dodge?

So C
elestial
E
missary
is by far the easiest boss in this entire game. Just find the right one until he gets big and whack him to death. I have a feeling there is something bigger lurking for me though.

A strategy that worked for me for the 3 hunters was
to walk in and sneak up behind the one to get a visceral attack and then run back out where you came in and up the stairs, they will follow you. This gives you a chance to fight one on one for a minute. If you kill one, they wont be back when you respawn.

How do you evade Ebrietas' charge attack ? How ? HOW DO YOU FUCKING DODGE IT !??!

3 steps.

1) timing when to make the first dodge.
2) pure sidestep dodge (I sidestep to my right)
3) pure backstep dodge (at the time you initiate this dodge, you should be hopping backwards looking directly at ebriatas' side now)

its tough. I was there w you my friend. feeling the fucking pain. but this strategy works.

treat it, timing aside, as if ebriatas isn't even on your screen. looking at it can throw off your rhythm.

Any tips for shadow of yharnam?
Imo by far the toughest souls fight.
By far.

1.) Complete Phtumeran(sp?) Chalice Depth 2.

2.) Use the unlocked sacrificial knives to make them fight each other.

3.) Clean up.

That is amazing

Wow.... Great info even though I just beat them last night.

Yep. I went from an afternoon of frustration to clearing it in three attempts with the new method due to getting used to the stab-animation timing.

It doesn't clear the whole fight for you as there's a limited duration on how long they stay enchanted for, but they can do enough to each other to make it easy to swoop in and finish them off.

Everyone dodges the same, no armour weights as pretty much every set could be classed as "Medium".

I haven't found a way of doing it reliably. Dodging back works sometimes if you're unlocked. If you're insanely lucky you might be able to dodge to her side, but your i-frame needs to coincide with contacting all of her damage-dealing tentacles.

I found the best way to avoid it (like many cheap boss attacks) is to simply not trigger it by staying close. It's one of those attacks that From put in there to punish passivity, IMO.

wow, didn't know you could do this. cool.
i just ran around and swiped at the fire baller, hit and run style, until he was dead, then tried to divide them up and take out the swordsman.
it was definitely one of the harder boss fights for me on the first run. i'm about to fight them on NG+
