GTA V PC Performance Thread

Maxed all the quality options with 8XMSAA and my VRAM usage says 4033 MB / 4095 MB

That's only at 1080p too :P Wonder how much 4K uses at those settings.

its quite clear getting the 350mb patch which is fucking crawling and constantly losing question is going to be painful. they shud put up mirrors

Made a pretty big difference in GTAIV for me as well as other games. The 2500K is really easy to overclock, but it's a little time-consuming getting the most out of it. And every chip is different so you can't use use other people's settings.
I just bookmarked a guide here in case I need it. Looks easy to do and I have a Corsair H80 here, think I can OC it high and still keep a good temp.

I can't run fullscreen on my 3 Titans @ 4k it's windowed. I have to run borderless windowed.

It's kind stuttering a bit on mine with all the features turned up.

LOL wow the benchmark just 'failed' because it triggered failed mission state, claming that I left my crew behind.

Ok... So I hit retry and it's put me in the middle of a random mission, about 30 seconds into it the camera shot through the ground and started flying through empty space. This is trippy.

What resolution and settings?

1080p60
All max, soft shadows, FXAA, 2x reflection AA.
Advanced settings shadows/flight streaming sliders on a little below max. About 3.2GB vram.

Yep I'm amazed.

I7 3770 4.2ghz
970 1567/3954mhz
2x4gb 2133mhz cl10 ram

Some dips but nothing horrendous in the cutscenes
at the getaway car at the start.

Yeah the benchmark is fucked.

Should be good with that H80. I have an Antec Kuhler 920 and I overclocked to 4.8 ghz. Any more than that and it's too hot/unstable. My temps max out at about 65C.

Benchmark is weird. It starts the first mission of the game and launches the benchmark at the same time. Halfway through the benchmark the mission fails because "You left your crew behind" and the mission failed message pops up and ends the benchmark. The performance during the scenes I was able to see were locked at 60 fps, which is good I guess. Ha ha.

Yeah the benchmark is completely busted... That's huh... promising...lol

Cool! Looking forward to your numbers, since our configs are almost identical. I think I'm not going to be able to check it out for another 5 hours at least :/

That is fantastic. My hope was that a 970 would be able to do 1080p60, and even better with high settings!

60 fps at 4k res with almost everything maxed.

This was with the benchmark.

Strangely it reads my two R9 290s as 8 gigs of available memory.

With 4k res, all the population stuff maxed, and most other settings maxed, it hit around 6.5 gigs of usage.

Benchmark ran absolutely fine at a smooth 60fps.

I'm so god damn happy!

The fuck is wrong with that "benchmark"? Some weird random scenes, some of them broken, then a mission failed, and instead of performance results, it booted me out of the game.

These both are really odd.

runs very good on my gtx 980 !

Core i7 4770k 3.50GHz
2x8GB DDR3 RAM
Gigabyte GTX 980 G1

all settings at max 1080p,

60fps with no issue.. sometimes dipped to 58 / 59... but when cruising through the city its a constant 60fps..

this is a very good port !

GTX 980
i7-2600k @4.4
8gb RAM

Playing at 1440p with 2xMSAA, everything else maxed out holding between 55 and 60 while driving around downtown. Glorious.

5930k @4.2
2x titan x sli
Everything to max, txaa on.

I'm averaging 90ish fps at 1440p. Sli seems fine but I keep crashing at the intro cutscene after Michael leaves his therapists office. Could be the oc on the cards tho, still breaking them in.

So far sli seems flawless.

Yeah my install is borked or something. It keeps crashing and displaying that message. It also refuses to do anything if I have Precision X loaded up. It won't move to the next screen as long as that program is open.

But even with it closed and off of a restart it won't start up.

Awesome. Good to know. Thanks!
