FXAA vs SMAA
No SweetFX vs SweetFX default settings
Yes, but it's very minor. You're basically getting twice the coverage for hardly any cost.
Its not going to go well. I'd be surprised if you maintained 30fps. Def lowest settings.Anyone playing with a ATI 5850 xtreme 1GB or similar and can tell me about the performance? Got this card and only 4GB of ram but a stock i5 2500k so I'm not sure if I should by it.
You need to change your scaling options to 1:1

Haven't played much yet but fullscreen was a good 5-10fps faster for me than borderless when checking my framerate at the same spots, toggling between the 2.Sorry if this has been asked but does playing in borderless windowed mode improve performance - also how do you activate it? I'm using windows 8.1.
Thanks in advance for any information.
I'm terrified of doing it/don't know how to. Last night was the first time I ever tried OCing my video card and it made me nervous as fuck.
Having problem not getting drops to 50-55fps while driving on my 970. Only FXAA, softer shadows, high res shadows off. I don't see an obvious setting for getting rid of that kind of world streaming-framedrop.
Any tips?

Im not at the computer, but i think you need to open nvidia control panel, then:How/where do I do this? I have an nvidia card.

display -> adjust desktop size and position
then open the scaling tab.
There should be an option for 1:1 scaling. Poke around with settings in there. Itll create a tiny black border since you're excluding pixels, but it won't stretch so you'll still have 1:1 pixel mapping.
Really? Cause my 7970 is working great with the new drivers.
I was hoping my HD7970 would get me 60fps at 1080 on the TV, but it looks like it averages 40 in the tests Maybe time for an upgrade.
Weird. You're on a HDD? If so that's all I can think of that is different besides our processors. I have the game running off of a SSD.
Turn everything down to low and see what happens. Change resolution to be lower and see what happens.
I'm getting excellent performance on my 660ti/2500K. Everything is set around very high, except shadows (which look terrible).
Is anyone else with the non steam version having troubles getting the Steam overlay to work?

Steam version and it doesn't work at the moment.

You won't likely notice any life decrease. You can keep it at temps you're comfortable with and everything will be just fine. You should really give it a shot. Its incredibly easy and depending on your luck you could REALLY benefit. When I built it (i5 3570k), it was always my intention to overclock it over time. I was just not confident that I would be able to do it without blowing up the computer. I am happy keeping it at the default speed - at least the life of the machine shouldn't decrease.
EDIT: Changed some shadow settings. It turns out that High Resolution Shadows don't actually turn on unless your Shadow Quality is already on Very High. I bumped up Soft Shadows to Softer to mask some of the pixelation of the shadows on High. This still results in a locked 1080p60 in the benchmark.
---------------------------------
Skimmed through the thread and didn't see this mentioned but the benchmark tool works fine IF YOU BEAT THE PROLOGUE and then be sure to have story mode loaded before loading the benchmark tool. The problem seems to be that story mode loads automatically from the start screen where you are probably going through the graphic options such that it ends up loading the benchmark with story mode running behind it (thus the interesting "failed mission" during the bench since the prologue is running).
Having now extensively used the benchmark tool to reach a constant, unwavering 1080p60 fps, here are my specs and settings.
Specs:
Intel Core i5-4690K @ 3.5 GHz (stock)
Radeon R9 280X 3 GB, 15.4 Beta drivers

I have bolded what I found to absolutely crush framerate at times (as in 60 fps suddenly dropping to ~30), most of which are related to shadows. The extended distance scaling also has a huge impact on framerate. I think that these settings were CPU-limited since Afterburner would often, at those fluctuating times, have my GPU usage at only 60-70% but CPU at 90%+. Shadow details, specifically resolution, killing framerate while not maxing GPU usage might be a GPU bandwidth limitation.
With the above settings, the game is running locked at 60 fps while looking amazing.
Only way I could get it to work is to force the target executable to run in admin.Has anyone managed to get the RSSC version working within Steam? I added it as a non Steam game but it starts up and immediately exits if I launch it that way.
I'm having issues with textures just not loading in at all. Anyone else see this?

I have:
Intel Core i5 4670K @ 3.40GHz
8.00GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 799MHz (11-11-11-28)
4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 (EVGA)
I'm up to date on drivers and MSAA is off.
Yes. Enable MFAA and MSAAx2 will give you the IQ of MSAAx4 with the performance hit of x2.

i cant for the life of me get a stable 1080p 60fps without dropping settings to normal and x2 aliasing.
the game doesn't feel optimised at all. even tried capping it at 30fps but it still dips to 15-20fps. updating to the catalyst beta drivers helped but still not great. i've been playing about with settings for the last 8 hours or so. need to take a break. will go back to it tomorrow.
specs are i5-4590/8GB/290. seriously considering getting a refund (if i can). so disappointed as i built my pc for this game.
Borderless windowed was the culprit of all my microstutter.
