I read about a guy who was messaged by his opponend after the fight askingg why he used healing.
When I was invaded myself before and the guy was shooting around with a cannon i decided healing absolutely makes sense when you are facing such a cheap weapon.

You can use Eye runes to buff your drop rates- no need to invest in stats you wouldn't use for your build otherwise.

Also, Bloodtinge is awesome late game, but makes the early game harder due to no weapons that scale with it (except guns).

Yeah, I agree, but my character is pretty much complete as far as I'm concerned. So, I roll with two eye runes, plus the extra I'm gaining from Arcane. Boosting Arcane at least feels like I'm getting something tangible, where-as if I used the points for other stats I would have gained something like 15 damage or 100 health.
 
Beat two bosses (
Paarl and Witch
) and two hunters yesterday, and unlocked three new areas. Pretty successful day after I had been stuck for a while.

" are up next.

Looking forward to spanking him non-cheese in NG+. This is going to make or break me.
Had him almost finished in NG but he then healed a lot and followed it up with a nasty railgun shot which took me from 50 % HP to 0... after 10 tries, i had to put out the cheese :(

OK i think i got it to work, but that scythe swipe still does alot of damage. What are his weaknesses? My hits barely take anything off of his health bar.

and I definitely see what all the hubbub was about. Quick attacks, jumpy, etc. It was honestly a pretty fun fight. In the end I just dodged through a lot of his attacks but mostly jumping back. I would love to go back with fully upgraded beast claws and go toe to toe with him, staying on him the entire time.
 
Still slowly making my way through this. Last night I had a great experience where I tried to warp to Odeon Tomb and was told I couldn't. Went there another way and
got murdered by a dude in gold armor that I thought was an invader.
Came back and
he was fighting with someone who turned out to be Eileen. Then she died. Then he killed me. And now I can't complete her questline, I guess.

So that was...fun.
No, it was shitty.

Always be strafing! The tell for the charge is easy to spot, and if you are strafing before hitting circle to dodge, it'll be easier for him to miss you.

The charge attack wasn't the problem, it was later in the battle, getting close enough to him to actually hit him. Eventually, I got him, it was just a long fight.

I was prepared for the worst. I entered the arena, dog spits fire, instantly charge attacks me and the fight was over in 5 seconds. Well, shit.

Well the glitch doesn't weaken them, it just limits their move set. Once he starts swinging that scythe, that's all he will do. Just parry it over and over, and keep nailing him with visceral attacks. If you aren't good at parrying, um... not sure what other strat you can use. But he makes it very easy if you know its coming.

His scythe swipes are incredibly slow and predictable. Bait him into swinging and then parry and visceral attack him into oblivion.

Remember if he ever does the move when he thrusts his sword into the ground simply aim at it with your pistol and shoot it to avoid the AOE attack.

and made it to layer 3 of the lower chalice. Let's say I was a bit surprised by the first big room you come to. I left with my tail between my legs to progress elsewhere lol.
 
Blunderbuss or Pistol? Or Ludwig's Rifle?

Does the Blunderbuss have a better chance of knocking them back if your parry isn't successful? I use the pistol and it does not seem like it's worth the risk because of you miss your parry, it's open season on your ass.

His attacks will eventually kill you if you go toe to toe with him.

Found her one of the easiest. Ludwig in one hand mode with a fire paper just stunlocks it to death. Finished it off with the cannon lol

Anyway he's talking about the thing asleep behind her. No clue what it does. No response and attacking it does nothing.
 
I'm stuck at ML. I've a few successful attempts where at the end I stupidly fell off the roof close to killing him. I've had some weak moments where I tried to summon help but luckily the games crappy MM system failed me and spared me the shame.

Wow! I've tried about 10 times and even at level 80 with ludwig +9 I had difficulty beating her.

You can use a certain item at this alter from an npc's quest line to do a certain thing (sorry to be vague, don't wanna spoil it)

Spoilers below on the item and location. Click at own risk:

It's the queens flesh from castle cainhurst after Alfred smushes her ass. If you use it there she comes back to life.

A single strike from the kanata is 50% of my HP gone. A shot from his gun takes 75% of my HP. It's just outrageous! I managed to get his HP down to just a sliver that one time and he freaking gun parried and one-shoted me with riposte... I'm surprised that I could control myself and didn't break the TV after that.

I one shotted her using these methods, too. I was worried about the difficulty, but I had no issues with her

That's what I tried. And she wiped her ass with my corpse afterwards.. In my honest opinion, think you guys might have gotten the easy version that is glitched. Cause she isn't that easy, and she doesn't stunlock easily either. Nor can you stay behind her. She is constantly turning and doing big AoE attacks with her arms.
 
Thinking back, I think I got a glitched A

boss fight. As my 1st time against her was really easy in main game. I just hit her head with my Ludwig's L2 attack to stunlock and visceral attack over and over. Never really got hit. Didn't do much to me or try to attack me much. So I def think I had a glitched boss fight.

The co-op fights against that boss was tougher and did all sorts of attacks I never saw. And Defiled version of course was completely destroying me and couldn't do what I did originally (granted, that was a tougher boss fight in general.)
 
Just out of curiosity. What's your favorite boss battle in the game, Gaf?

I really like Mergo's Wet Nurse, but my favorite is Gascoigne, as it feels like a pvp duel.

boss fights. Mainly cause they were so different from others. Too bad they were kinda easy.

. I don't parry, so it was a pretty intense fight, trading blows staying quick on my feet, just generally a boss fight with an awesome feel. One of the few boss fights in the game that felt like the boss itself was quick enough to match the speed boost that Bloodbourne gives to players over the souls games.
 
My fav is Father G too and that douchebag with a gattling gun at the roof.. fight vs a hunter is always something i look forward to. Really one of the things that separates it from other Souls games.
 
Yesterday I have been killed at the hut in Hemwick and lost a lot of souls. Today I cleared the area but my souls are gone. There even was no enemy with them - what happend?
