Bloodborne |OT+++| ...and so the Nightly Hunt continues

that area was cool but short. I beat the boss so easy it was a joke. I'm pretty lvl'd up but still. I'm pretty sure its just the orphanage two stories and the balconies and the boss area.

Do you even hunt? :) there is more to this area.

lol, badly beaten. Thread is still fast.

Forbidden Woods is a pain.

I don't want to explore it, I don't want to go through it again. So annoying. Even with the shortcut, it is just a massive pain.

Have you done everything ? 24h seems a bit low for that.

Definitely not. I missed some bosses as well as some areas. In fact there is plenty for me to go back and see but I'm not sure I've got the hunger to do it. I feel spent.

As much as I enjoyed the game, I felt an overwhelming sense of relief when the credits began to roll. The game got under my skin, in a good way, but I'm glad it's over.

It was a massive departure for me. I don't like horror at all and just making it through a game filled some of the most despicable creatures I've ever faced is probably one of my greatest accomplishments.

is it me or there is a big difficulty spike in
upper cathedral
? i have
Cainhurst castle ,unseen village and upper cathedral
a head which one is easier?

What the fuck! The elevator in
lumenflower garden
is stuck for me and now i cant fight the boss. Anyone know how to fix this?

Ugh, I played up to Old Yarnham the day after this came out and stopped for Pillars of Eternity. Now when I go back I'm just not feeling it any more. I feel really bad, I loved DS1 and 2, and was looking forward to this so much. For some reason playing this now just makes me feel bad. I don't know if I should trade it in or what.

Yup, it's a small area, but for most people in their first playthrough, it will seem large because of the unknown. Once we know the layout, and the optimal route through, yeah it's small, but the same can be said of many areas of Dark Souls, or Dark Souls II. If anything, I'm glad From designed these areas so they are smaller but have content, rather than just being large to be large like Lost fucking Izalith lol.

Few people had this problem as well.
Wait for patch if you can't get it to work.
Look like I might have to. How annoying :( helpful tip so people dont get a stuck elevator like me.
do not use bold hunters mark around lumenflower garden elevator just to be safe

I'd say
Unseen Village
if post-
Rom
because the boss at
Cainhurst
was one of the hardest in the game for me.

But yea, in terms of the actual area, I agree with you.

He's not actually that bad. You just gotta realize how you parry him.

Ugh i'm a little nervous about these bosses you guys are talking about. I can't even get past Rom. The first round is fine, but the second round where he's throwing meteors at you and the smaller spiders going after you, its giving me so much trouble.

FINALLY, the (chalice end spoilers)
Yharnam Queen
is dead. The road to the end was gruelling, but the final fight was easy though she does pack a nasty punch. Finished the fight on my first try.

Ranking of chalice boss difficulty:
1. Phtumerian Descentant: He was by far the hardest boss on the way to the queen. While other bosses are somewhat baitable (i.e. you can force them to use predictive attacks), this boss was extremely quick and if he catches you in a combo you're as good as dead.
2. The Watchdog: Very baitable, but his absurd health pool coupled with his unpredictable tendency to do the ramming move causes massive frustration.
3. Amygdala: Tons of health and the dark enclosed space doesn't help. Thankfully, I read about the standing still trick, which helped shave off quite a lot of health by doing head attacks.
4. Headless Bloodletting Beast: Quite a nasty one, but I had learned the moves from the regular version and killed him on my second attempt. Gruesome as fuck when the worm pops out of his head though, ewww.

Last night I beat R
om
in the Lower Pthumeru Chalice Dungeon. Holy shit, he's so much more difficult down there than in the main game. Here's a video of the fight. I literally had a single pixel of health left at one stage.

Tonight I beat B
loodletting
B
east
on my second attempt. I found the key to him was extreme patience - open with a few cannon shots, wait for him to exhaust his combo, L2 attack with Ludwig's Sword 2H, visceral attack if lucky, and heal when necessary. Rinse and repeat.

Blah, used all my vials against
Rom
. This vial farming is bloody (pun intended) annoying.

Last time I would have needed perhaps 2 more hits, but then the boss used some attack I had not seen before.

Yay
wet nurse
is finally dead! Went and leveled up a bit so I could solo her. Got my chikage up to +9. Just need to go get this block rock now and finish maxing it out

Can the Forbidden Woods pig skip be used to skip the boss of that area completely? Trying to get to the end of the game while killing as few bosses as possible to keep bell maidens.

I just got my trophy as well

I'd rank 1-3 about the same. Didn't have much issues with number 4.

Geez, this game. Died to NG+ BSB probably 10 times last night and this morning, leave for a doctor's appointment, come back, and kill it without getting hit.

After reading this and going deeper into my pthumeru lvl 3 ... who did i meet? R
om. Seems to me that he's the same (i do a good 500 dmg with every L2 hit) as in his lake. Only (big) problem now is that my tactic of just avoiding the little spiders and running into openings to hit Rom 1 is very problematic now. He is in a small room and it's getting packed with little spiders after a while. Got him to like 20 % till i could not move anymore freely between all the spiders and his attacks and died -_-
Edit: he is actually easier now compared to Story Rom. You can get cover against his meteor attack behind the pillars now. Thinned out his spider buddies a bit (the die in 1-2 hits) and then it was easy.

do chalice dungeon get harder passing to ng+ or they stay the same?

I just got my trophy as well

(btw ps4 take a screenshot for every thropy you get, if you didn't deactivate the option)

Id just rather them not be able to heal. Its bullshit how they invade with 20 BV's and you're through a level already down and they can out sustain simply by having more vials.
Invaders have 30% less health. If they couldn't heal they'd have absolutely zero chance, especially since they're almost always in 2v1 except in the nightmares.

I could be wrong but I think NPC Hunters don't actually scale with NG+?
This again?

Look at my last paragraph here:
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=160197349&postcount=14357

What do you think? I'm starting to have doubts about this. Someone said their HP remains the same but they hit harder, but that seems rather odd.

Another terrific helpful Chalice Dungeon chart.

Very nice. Thanks.

upcoming patch should nerf this shit -_-
Meh, this invader had 680 HP. Even considering the 30% loss, that's ridiculously low VIT. They deserved to be OHKO'd. :P

The reiterpallasch thing is different, though, as it seems to OHKO everyone after a parry, but I tend to agree with gio that we shouldn't be so quick to declare something needs a nerf. If the canon's damage gets nerfed, it could simply become use useless, and that's no good either.

Yup! It does that for quicksilver bullets as well.
I wish it did that for all consumables, not just vials and bullets. I really have no idea why that's not the case. Antidotes, sedatives, bone marrow, fire paper, etc. can be annoying to restock at the Dream if you spent a lot on a boss and died.

Do you have to reach a certain point in the game to start covenants? Or are they based on just your interaction with NPC's?

There are only a few (3 so far). One has to do with a "famous" hunter npc. And the other one with an NPC and an optional area. If you want to know:
hunter of hunters covenant has to do with Eileen the Crow. Help her (beat a hunter, which is harder then most bosses] at the end of her sidequest. Other one has to do with Alfred and Chainhurst Castle. Vileblood Covenant.
