Even with that guide I find the chalices pretty confusing. I did the first one, then in each of the next few tombstones I see a few different options and don't know which I'm supposed to do. I might try them in ng+

Are the servers down (EU)? I just shanked W
et
N
urse
, and prey wasn't slaughtered, but I was booted back to the title screen. I'm signed in to PSN.

Oh what is this poop, I have to do her again? D:

Yeah, I really wish From would just kick you into offline mode, not kick you out of the game. This happened to me on a boss, an easy boss luckily, but still annoying to lose progress.

You guys ever have it where sometimes you will die on a boss and respawn at the last lamp with your vials maxed out again?

Wha? Your vials go straight to storage, you get 20 per life, but can hold 99 total. So when you die, that is why you start with 20 again (provided you have some in storage, which you probably always will unless you die like 5 times in a row on a boss.

Anyone want to explain to me why in Yahar'ghul, Unseen Village, enemies keep reviving from the ground? Can I prevent this? It's really pissing me off.

There are bell maidens that revive them. Run past all the enemies and find out where they are. Just follow the ringing. If you find one of these bitches kill her and the enemies in her proximity will stop respawning.

Where can i find ritual Blood (2)?

Snatchers in Chalice Dungeons drop them. I think you can buy it at the merchant too.
Several ritual items are also scattered around the game. Loot every corpse you can find.

Bit of advice what to do next. Just killed the cleric beast in some sort of amateurish way. I tried him after getting to the bridge but was way too weak so explored a little. As a gauge this is where I'm up to:

Killed cleric beast
Met a hunter in a little alleyway (gave me a shake off cape)
Opened up lots of little shortcuts
Found some armour in the sewers
Found a switch for an ?elevator? that was broken...?
Found a ladder with a battering ram troll, went up it but I couldn't open the gate to what looked like the courtyard of the sick room
I found two bodies hanging from the ceiling and cur them down (a la DeS near Phalanx). I can see where they fell, surrounded by rats but don't think I've been there yet
I have been to an area where these things were crawling on the floor but can't remember how to get back there.....

Tips?

Ok from Cleric Beast's lamp

Go past the werewolves and look right on the same bridge. There should be a spot for you to go down into the canal/sewer. If the wolves are too tough take a right into the house instead. Go to the bottom floor and out the door. Going straight will put you near one of the first lamps and going right will lead to an elevator that you likely cannot use. Go towards this elevator but take a right up the stairs. You should now be near an area with dogs. Past here is the other entrance to the sewer. While there are a number of places to explore, it's a fairly straight shot to the next boss. Just make sure you are looking for shortcuts. The cleric beast's lamp is very close to next boss if you unlock the correct shortcut. Good luck!

I created a chalice dungeon and i got 6 ritual blood(2) from it.Can i somehow repeat the exact same loot?

So, if I'm right, this is the tactic for
Rom
:

Take out the first wave of spiders, then go in and smack Rom down until he teleports away. After this, make charges to him, whack once or twice, then dodge away. When the ice-storm happens, stay completely still and the ice misses 9/10 times. Repeat until dead.

Yes but how?I dont see an option to repeat it.Maybe the best way is to conduct the ritual again and hope there is some ritual blood(2)?

Stupid me, I forgot that static loot doesn't restock when you enter the dungeon again.

You can try creating a new one. No idea.

Or check out some guides. They surely listed locations for Ritual Blood (2).

I've never heard of that last bit, but yes to the rest.

I actually never locked on to him stayed to the side and ignored spiders altogether. I kept attacking his side with fire paper added to my weapon. You'll take some hits but keep wailing on him and he dies quickly. If you lock on to him, it's harder. Also, the longer the fight goes the worse it gets. Trying to fight the spiders, I was never able to win because of the amount of them and the damage output.

The last boss is kicking my asshole hard. I only have the game for a few more hours and NEED to get this done.

Level 59, armor from start (sans hands & feet). Weapon, Hunter Axe+7

I'm getting him close, but honestly think I need to farm to finish this dude. Sadly I do not have time.. Suggestions?

I don't think that first wave factors in with the time, but for when the second phase starts. At least in my experience I didn't see a difference in attacks in dependence of the first phase.

Tried it out on one of my two attempts before bed, it actually works. Make sure you're moving as it's being cast, then stop dead: don't even move the camera. One chunk will still hit now and then, but the rest just fly past.

I found completely ignoring the little spiders to make it easier. The first time I did the fight I was killing them too and I died, so I just went in the second time, bum rushed Rom as soon as he spawned after each teleport, dodged around while locked on almost constantly and wailed on him with my cane when I could. I almost died a couple times and burned through a lot of vials but it worked. I might have just gotten super lucky though.

Look for the two story house that you can enter and leave out the first floor door, next to the stairs. Its where the two big troll guys are. past them is the elevator, go up and the sewers will be on the right. This is ass backwards but still works.

As far as the bodies that you hacked down and the rats you saw. The only way I know to get there is to fall. you should be fine but I landed on the boxes to be safe. also I had to go back up and fall on the other side, so it took a little while.

You might be right, I'm not really sure. To be honest I had trouble with a lot of bosses but this one went smooth for once and I only died a few times.

Huh. Pretty cool trick.

I'll have to try that either in another Chalice Dungeon or on NG+. I usually use oblique rolls to counter it to the same effect, but this sounds good when at a good distance and not having to worry about the mobs.

That's one of the best parts of the game, seeing the difference in how bosses are taken by various folks. A lot say E
brietas
is difficult, but I found her attacks to be fairly easy to predict and dodge so long as the camera behaved to where she went down the second attempt after nearly dead the first. On the flip-side, I experienced the opposite with P
aarl
, and that bastard took 20 attempts or so and is up there with M
artyr
L
ogarius
and B
loodletting
B
east
in regards to most difficult fights.

I kill
the first wave as Rom is passive and won't attack at that point. That way I only have 20 spiders jumping at me instead of 30 for the other phases.

mind blown when I found out, been playing hard mode the whole time ;_;

Also make sure you don't have too much Insight, that apparently makes the game harder too. I think people were theorycrafting exact numbers in various places, not sure what became of it. I just keep my Insight below 20 for now, hopefully that's a safe value.

I was doing fine at this until the Insight shop stopped getting unique armour sets. There's only so many bits of Fire & Bolt paper a person can want. :p

Making my way through the F

Still haven't found a reason to use anything but the saw cleaver.

These games are made with the intent that you can beat them with pretty much any weapon you want but there are some perks some weapons have over others as well as downsides. The cane has super long range but is also a bit weaker and can't stagger big enemies. The kirkhammer does lots of damage and can stagger large enemies but is slow with shorter range. The saw cleaver seems to be a well rounded weapon that doesnt particularly excel in any area except maybe it's speed in retracted form. If it works it works. Some weapons will be better for some enemies than others.

The game only clicked for me when I ditched the cleaver for the axe. Dat range.

It doesn't make the game harder, we need to stop persisting this myth. It does exactly 2 things that make the game harder, one only at 15 insight, the other only effects a status effect.

that's another thing I love about this game. You can beat it with any gear and any weapon. I went from the saw cleaver to ludwigs holy sword only because I thought it looked awesome. Then I upgraded 3 other weapons only to never use them. maybe later. oh yeah I use the Tontorus (spelling?) and I cant wait to get the Chikage

reached blood starved beast ng+ but alfred sign doesn't appear. i accepted to work with him and he already moved to his second location. could be a glitch? i forgot to talk to eileen too before killing gascoigne and she disappeared from the game

I thought this was weird. I know it ('I'd say slightly) reduces your
frenzy
resistance.
btw one of those damn suckers in upper cathedral sucked 8 insight from me, I couldn't believe it. That's in two sucks back to back.

Run straight at cathedral ward lamp and go up those stairs. That shortcut gate must be open for eileen spawn a second time. If u havent killed VA i think she will still appear outside of cathedral ward lamp.

Felt like I was in the Twilight Zone when people were talking about this game when I went to MKX's midnight launch at Gamestop.

Of course most of them complained they couldn't get past the 3rd boss, but still.

do you get an achievement or some kind of reward for completing all the chalice dungeons?...do you have to finish all the 'Root' ones as well?...I've done all the normal non-Root ones except for Great Isz...the challenge in the Depth 4 or 5 ones are annoying at times and I don't want to deal with any more Cursed dungeons...it's funny because I just want to progress to the next dungeon boss but every time I see an optional side door I just have to explore :)

No, you get the trophy for the final non-root Pthumeru boss. You don't have to do any of the root chalices for it.

how do I rejoin a covenant?...for example I joined Eileen the Crow's 'Hunter of Hunters' one but later on I joined the Vilebloods one...how do I go back to the Hunter one?

wow really...so I don't need to do any of the Hintertomb, Loran or Isz dungeons?...what is the name of the final Pthumera dungeon I need to complete?...I just finished the Cursed/Defiled Pthumera one

Great Pthumeru Ihyll Chalice
. You should have gotten the chalice from the defiled one you just completed. The issue comes when you don't have the mats, so you'll have to do 4/5 depth dungeons for them. One of the materials is only found in the main game world, too. After you acquire it, it should unlock from the insight vendor afterward, should you need another.
