Bloodborne |OT+++| ...and so the Nightly Hunt continues

Come on From!

I would have gotten it on my first playthrough if it was there. lol My insistence to play solo and not use items aside from the standard blood vials, quicksilver bullets, antidotes, and sedatives makes everything super satisfying. Screw fire/bolt paper, knives, and such!

What I don't get about the unseen village is the part with the 3 hunters. In all other areas if you killed a hunter they didn't respawn. here they seem to.

So what is everyone's strategy for
Unseen Village post Rom
?

Should I just make a run for it and find the shortcuts, or should I just stick to killing
bell maidens
and cleaning up afterwards? There seems to be a lot of shortcuts in this area, but those buffed mobs are wrecking my ass. Plus this seems to be a good place to get blood chunks so I want to make sure I grab the loot. Thoughts?

Anyone got any tips for progression. I'm kind of at point where I can go one of three ways, but I'm not sure which is the best.

I just beat
The One Reborn
. Now, I can

1. Continue onward from his boss room. I think to the endgame?
2. Go to
Cainhurst
, which I still have yet to do
3. Go to
Nightmare of Mensis
, which I still have yet to even venture into (I've done the
Nightmare Frontier
already).

I don't know if I want to come back to those two later, as I may be overleveled. I'm around level 70 at the moment. I'm thinking
Cainhurst
would be best, maybe?

Thanks.

Every video I watch of someone beating Rom makes it look so easy. I am using the Totrinus (sp?) but for some reason, avoiding those damn rocks he throws doesn't come as easy for me. Any Rom tips??

Might want to spoiler tag some of that. But yeah, I got tips.

So, for
Rom
, the hardest part for me was avoiding the
falling ice rocks
. I found a pretty good strategy is when he starts doing the pose where he's gonna make them fall, start running at him, and slightly to his left, so you end up on his left side. If you can, try to get in for a dash attack and gtfo. Stay close, but not too close that he can do his AOE thing.

As for the
spiders
, I basically ignored them unless they were an easy kill. My entire strategy was, run in, dash attack, run out.I used
Ludwig's Holy Blade
.

I ran at first until I got to areas to explore. Then once beating the boss there i would start from that lamp and work backwards to see if I missed anything. The bell maidens should definitely be top priority but once I ran down the steps I would take out the two gunmen before killing that bell maiden.

They don't respawn. You can kill one and die, and you'd only have two left.

I definitely killed one of them and then the next time I ran through there the same one came outside the door. I thought I had a pretty good method of running through and then I would take just one on outside the room. Once I saw him again after killing him I decided to say screw it and just bypassed them and ran for the boss.

Why is
Defiled Watchdog
so haaaaaard? Also does a chalice dungeon snapshot your level when you first create it? I ask because after leveling a bit and coming back to attempt the boss again I noticed my attacks were doing the exact same damage as before.

An Arcane build was such a big mistake for my second character. My holy blade only has an attack of 393 with a fire gem, 407 with a bolt gem, and 4 like 418 with an arcane gem which almost nothing seems weak to anyway. I feel like unless I spend hours on the chalice dungeons again, I'm not going to get any stronger. I'm so not doing that again.

This gives you a quick run down on which chalices you need to do and where you can find the materials.

Dammit, I just realized some stupid guide screwed me out of the good ending. I killed
Iosefka
too early to get the
Umbillical Cord
, apparently, because some guide told me she drops a good rune or something. It's not even that good.

Fucking hell.

You can still get it.

It's a great rune, though, I still use it on my main character :P

There are 4
umbillical cords
, you only need 3.

Theres 4 in the game so it might still be possible to obtain! I'm not sure which ones you have right now exactly though so I can't point you to it.

My god, fucking L
ogarius
is going to give me a stroke. Thank god he's optional, I think I'm going to just give up on him. Haven't had nearly this much trouble with any other boss and it doesn't help that the run back is so long and annoying.

I've read some tips and watched someone beat him, but every time I try he just gets pushed up against the back wall or the edge of the roof. Makes it hard to dodge his magic spamming and impossible to backstab when he changes phase.

I think 2 are missable though.

I don't even go near him when he's against a wall or by the edge. Once wrong sidestep and you're falling or stuck in the corner. I stay mainly in the center and let him dance around me. One nice thing about that too is because the floor is angled the skulls sometimes hit that before getting to you. I also wouldn't even try backstabbing him in his second phase. Stick mainly to his right side (sidestep left) when attacking.

I had to ask help from a friend to beat him xD

Try to attack him from the other side if he goes closer and closer to a wall and
in his second Phase spam your pistol. When he attacked me in his 2nd phase i shot him constantly for visceral attacks. Used all 20 bullets and got 3 visceral attacks out of it ^^, but that was enough to kill him.

They don't. Also, youtube some vids on how to beat these dudes. Some people have found some clever ways.

I just locked myself in my old jail cell downstairs and R2'd them with my Ludwig from inside the cell. They were pissed for sure, but, well, it's a Souls game so screw them.

The run is back is fast? Just go right from the lamp to elevator and then run across library to ladder, ignoring all those ghost women. Climb ladder and then drop down on roof eve and avoid those two bat things and then across little bridge to ladder to Martyr. It literally takes me about 45 seconds and believe me, I've had to make the run about 56 times cause he is kicking my ass. I got him down to a sliver once, no red showing and I got greedy and tried to swing with no stamina and he got me. I lost my mind and had to put the game down for a couple days.

it can be tough, but once you get him in a cycle, it's pretty manageble.

Check this video and the strategy in the description:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N79xQusUejI

You can break most of his moves, parry and even backstab him. As long as you don't allow him to power up, you'll be able to beat him!

Beat M
artyr Logarius
on my second try lol. He was hard but I seemed to tank him pretty well.
Don't think he was subject to the glitch as he transformed to his second state which doesn't happen with the glitch. It was pretty intense at that moment but managed to dodge his flying attacks and chugged blood vials

Anyway,
I wore his crown and I met the queen but she's not interested in talking to me and I found an unread invitation to Cainhurst near her. Can anyone tell me what to do? I'm basically wrapping up the game now as I'm on Mergo's middle loft in Nightmare of Mensis.

this game is filled with 'how the hell could I have known that?" moments. you have to bow to her, don't know which bow but its the one with one arm out horizontal. look into the Alfred quest line also, would want to miss that.

Just got to the
Forest, specifically the big pool of poison with the giants walking around. There's an item that's way in the back that I keep dying trying to get to, is it worth it?

Also, those shortcuts!

I tried it last night at lv36 and one mistake one shots me. Did the coffin jump to get here early and get Chikage before I kill Amelia!

If you stand a few steps away the game gives you the option to kneel by hitting X.

There is a "press X to kneel" button right in front of her.

lol some of the hunters are easy to beat if you use the game mechanics to the fullest.
The one in the church where you fought the Vi
car Amelia boos
is fucking annoying.. but there is a simple trick to get him to kill himself:

Run up to him, don´t attack, let him attack. Dodge his attacks and wait for the moment where he switches to the bloodied Chikage. Then RUN like hell to the exit.. he will follow you untill the exit.. then he will turn around and still hold the bloodied Chikage. That weapon drains his energy.. so just wait for about 2 minutes .. and wupti he is dead. lol

Yeah, that was Eileen, wasn't it? I just lured to edge of stairs and got her to come out the door. once she is outside she just does running animation to get back in but if you are in doorway she can't. Then just swipe at her til she's dead.

Depends on what you do for that quest line. If you help her she'll be laying by the grand cathedral injured and you fight the hunter she was hunting (this is the one who uses the Chikage). If you don't do anything, you'll be fighting her

Run to the first two
bell maidens
and kill them, then explore that general area at your leisure. The next area has a very well-hidden
bell maiden who summons more aggressive enemies
, so either run past them down the stairs into the chapel or explore cautiously to find the
bell maiden
and any loot.

The next area after that is much more forgiving about letting you explore, though it has its own difficulties.

If you're really stuck figuring out where the
third bell maiden
is and you want to know, you can find it by (gameplay spoilers)
falling off in a gap in the iron fence on the right of the upper courtyard with the crazy mob witches.

I just fought everything lol. It's not too bad of an area, especially once you get to the second lamp. Good amount of echoes too for killing those big enemies before the boss too. Ran that a few times to get echoes.

I hope that whenever BB gets DLC, it adds both a proper Beast mode and some sort of opposite Kin mode that turns you into
a slimy servant of the Great Ones with power increasing with insight.

Being so engrossed in the fights I never really got to take in the amazing soundtrack of this game.

E
brietas
is amazing and G
ehrman's
boss themes is probably one of the best out of From.
