Bloodborne |OT+++| ...and so the Nightly Hunt continues

The chalice dungeons were by far the worst part for me in getting the platinum. I purposefully overleveled to make the defiled sections more manageable and ended up easily steamrolling through it all. #noregrets

I've got a feeling I'm going to be doing this. Like, power-levelling through to NG++ or something just so the chalices are so much easier by the end. I don't relish the thought of one-hit KOs with a HP nerf and a generally tough boss in that last one.

I don't even like the chalice dungeons at all so I'm tempted to just not bother going for the platinum. But I love the game and I'm quite far through it. I just don't know.

Only one more ending and that's it for me.
I managed to one shot Gehrman last night for the Honouring Wishes ending and was feeling mighty cocky then my confidence got the better of me and I just couldn't get him down a second time after consuming my umbilical cords.

Great fight though. Probably one of the best in the game so far. Once you work out his move-set it's an incredibly fun battle. Shame I couldn't get him again but I'm sure I will tonight.

Then onto NG+ and finish off the dungeons

The boss
Shadow of Yharnam
... :( how do i do this?!

I've beat them one by one, since I found out that it was an easier and more manageable method than "hit them all equally" method which is usually the one recommended so you avoid the snake summoning at the very end phase.
They're weak to Bolt, so use Bolt Paper on your regular weapon or use Tonitrus (preferably scaled to +5/+6).
I first dispatched the fireball caster since those were super annoying and were usually the main reason for my death (got hit by a fireball + slashed by a sword from someone else).
After that, go for the dual wielder since he's really aggro after the buff.
After that you're left with the fire breather guy.
Avoiding the snakes isn't that difficult, just roll (don't lock onto the last Shadow once he spawns the snakes) and you'll be fine.
Be careful, look at your surroundings you don't get stuck while dodging and manage your stamina correctly.
This is how I did it but I'm sure there a lot of other methods.
If you find it too difficult, try co-oping this one.

Similar tactic here, but I actually went for the dual weilder first.

Dual wielder is always closest to you, because of his close quarters weapons and aggro-ing nature. So draw him away from the others, hit him, run away, use the big stone to split them up, keep strong-hitting him till he dies.

Then do the same for the cane guy, using the tomb stone to keep the magician away from you. Cane guy's great reach and wide-swipe is rendered useless by the big tombstone.

Then you're just left with the magician and avoiding easy-to-dodge snakes.

I'd recommend never using lock-on.

They kinda pulled out a harem cast.

Adella is yandere.
Doll is that quiet soft one.
Arianna is well the hot one.
Annalise is tsundere
Eileen wise older one

I can't believe my hunter is this insightful.

Vicar Amelia for all the the furries and MLP fans out there.

But I'm not all that familiar with anime tropes. Which one is
fake Iosefka
?

I'm assuming that you accepted blood from the whore and used it and that has turned the nun into a total yandere.

She wants senpai (you) to notice her.

Nope, that seems to be the confusing part in all of this. I
declined the whore, and took blood from the nun. Didn't even meet the Begger in the woods. The nun is just going crazy I guess(if it's the nun). I found the old lady just outside the church and a note was in her chair. The whore had no body, but there was a gash of blood in front of her chair.

Who knows what will happen next!

For those that have finished the game
does it automatically put you in NG+ like in Dark Souls, or can I play a post game where I can do Chalice Dungeons?

I was dumb during my playthrough and didn't realize I needed to play the Central Pthumeru in order to access future ones, but I also don't want to overlevel for the last bosses by catching up.

NG+ starts after the final boss like Dark Souls, but you keep your Chalice Dungeon progress

It dumbs you into NG+ as soon as you have beaten the last boss. You can do those Chalice Dungeons in NG+ too since they don't scale with it. What you should do before moving to NG+ though is to get all materials needed from the end game unless you want to go through the game again in NG+ before tackling all the Chalices.

Try looking downstairs (down the ladder you took to first enter the chapel).

Finished. Made a backup in cloud for last section to get all 3 endings without having to play again.

Love the game. Best game for me since dark souls 1. Just need to do the cord ending tonight and then then run through the chalices

Finished at level 79, 31 hours. did every area there is. Nice length. Not too long. kinda glad since i have a back log of 40+ games on ps4 alone.

never summoned anybody the whole game. never let me. just constantly searched but i could be summoned in less than a min everytime. strange.

Loading times never bothered me. only once i thought "hurry the fuck up" and that was in unseen village when i died. trip to hunters dream didnt feel too long at all.,

Covenant question. If I join the
Vileblood covenant to get the initial rewards. Is it easy to leave the covenant? Are there penalties or consequences for leaving?
Thanks

Hmmmm...

Eileen The Crow:

She gave me the badge before I kill the hunter in Grand Cathedral. And no one where in the Grand Cathedral after she gave me the badge. Just a rune on the ground. Weird.

Also, about Arianna:

I said it before in this thread, but since I didn't see it on any Wiki or guide, I say it again.
She had her baby in her home in my playthrough. I had killed 4 bosses when I approached her, and she had her baby already (before the red moon). When I approached her after killing Cleric Beast, Father G and Blood Starved Beast (in that order) she didn't asked for any safe places. When I killed Vicar Amelia, she had already gave birth to her baby.

Also, I love my new avatar :3 Eileen for the win! :D

That is mighty interesting. Got any screenshots of the text boxes?

Are you sure it was Arianna?
I just say this as there's another door right next to hers in the same alley with a woman with a crying baby screaming "my baby!" or something like that.

Arianna's door is directly across from the skeptical man.

Oh...yeah she says: "My baby! my precious baby!"
... So that's not Arianna? Damn.

Well, I thought I found something interesting ;___;

Yup
definitely not Arianna. I almost made the same mistake. Arianna's door is right at the far end.

Hopefully it didn't ruin your chances of getting the 3 umbilical cords. Something to look forward to in NG+ I suppose

I decided to cheat! I used the clinic shortcut and I'm now farming the hell out of the
Forbidden Woods.
50k in about 2 minutes just around the lamp area!

No, I got one of the cords from Iosefka and one from The abandoned old workshop, so I'm good :D

Nothing wrong with that.
As soon as I hit NG+ my character is gonna get boosted up to level 544 (the level cap). Gonna make dem bosses shake.

I'm hoping it doesn't get patched before then.

Okay this is it (for a second time)
How do I save my current file onto the cloud? Or how do I save it on USB. Everything is on fire and I've yet to eat the umbilical cords

Man fuck that zone with frenzy or whatever those invisible spears cause. How do you fight this?

You gotta stick to the 'shadows' of the rocks. You can't do anything about it. Just run from cover to cover and try to fight the enemies from cover. It is not as bad as it seems.

ofc switch armor accordingly, but the real trick is cover and running.

Plug a usb drive into your ps4 and find the "game" data management option in the ps4 settings. Think it is called that. Select system storage and then copy to usb.

Cheers. Managed to upload it to cloud and copied it to USB. I will get all the endings this time!
Going for the umbilical cord ending first though

Is there a way too see which chalice dungeons you've already completed? Since you may have to remove the chalice from the altar to make room for others. Will the loot in the chests be gone if you unseal the same chalice dungeon as you've already cleared? Or will it be different loot?

So, I beat Rom last night. Where exactly did that frenzy take me too? Is it best to continue on? Or, should I back out and go to the unseen village to take care of
One Reborn?
I am seeing that Unseen Village is really hard after Rom though.
I also have the
Summons letter for Cainhurst, at what point should I go there?

Well shit, Looks like Alfred killed
Annalise. She's dismembered into a bloody pulp and I never joined her covenant.
Fuck, I guess there is always NG+.

All is not lost. You can still join the vilebloods in this play-through.

Obvious spoilers below:

Pick up her flesh (from her throne) and place it on the alter after beating Ebrietas, Daughter of the Cosmos and she comes back to life.

Go to
Cainhurst now. Other than the tough as nails enemies outside the castle (just run!) It's not that hard at all and a great setting. Can't say the same for the boss there though. He's a pain in the ass.

Unseen village is very hard in comparison

READ THIS
YOU CAN REVIVE HER! Collect Queenly Flesh from her body and go to Altair of Despair (where you fought Ebrietas). There's a spider looking sculpture at the far end, go there and interact with it. Next time you go to Cainhurst, queen will be alive.

So I killed some guy behind a
gate in the cathedral
that didn't respawn.

Think I missed out on something.

Hmm.. Having hard time figuring out the location you are talking about. Could you be more specific of the area or the person?

Had G
ehrman down to a sliver of health and he two shots me. Loving his sound track.

My favorite boss theme after
Mergo's Wet Nurse
theme in BB.

This game man. THIS GAME!!!

Got it.... Thanks!

Beat G
ehrman and I'm now facing the Moon Presence. Had it down to a sliver with only 3 vials for the whole fight before it started raining blood on me.

The doll still thinks Gerhman is still alive, bless her.

Sorry guys, weird request: weeks ago I saw an amazing fake screenshot of the game with markers, objectives and random casual gaming tropes, I can't find it anymore for the life of me. Anyone who saved it locally or has the link at hand? Thanks.

EDIT: thanks a lot antennaehead!

I finally got the "true ending". As expected, I don't really understand it.
Am I squid now? Are the great ones Amygdala?
