I don't care about the graphics or whether the trailer matches up to them. What's important is the gameplay. E3 can't come soon enough. Battlefront gameplay and ME4 reveal will have EA lighting a cigar.

It definitely won't look as good as the in-engine trailer.

Editor doing who wrote a hands-off preview of Battlefront on a Dutch tech website, said the game looked good, but by far not as good as the in-engine trailer.

Yeah, there is just no way. But I am confident that it will still look amazing.

Shooters don't have bots anymore (for the most part)...doubt it

why would you want bots when there are flesh and blood people to play against? I have never understood this

  • Bots give you a preditable and consistent level of challenge.
  • Bots let you explore the maps, and experiment with game mechanics and vehicles without interfering, or be interfered by, other players.
  • Bots let you play offline
  • Bots allow large scale coop and vs. matches even with much fewer players. This allows you to have matches with just your friends
  • Bots combined with the ability to give orders adds an extra level of strategy
  • Bots simply give a different type gameplay that some people like, or even prefer, to non-bot matches

So if Jakku gets two it's probably safe to say that the map count is 2x5 maps, right? 10+-ish.

That's about the BF standard, although 8 is definitely low.

I'm more concerned with how they're handling the MP modes. I used to want them to have every mode for every map, but that hasn't turned out well in BF3/4.

So I'm guessing 2 maps per planet making it a total of 8 maps. 10 maps with the Jakku DLC. I just hope the maps are completely different. I know Hoth is a snowy planet, but I just want completely different terrain on a second map on that planet.

With no campaign, space battles and only 4 planets, my biggest worry for the game by far is lack of content.

I'm hoping the lower map count is offset by tuning each map for each game mode. Like how Bad Company 2 changed up or sealed off parts of the map for different playlists.

I can't believe the expectations of some people. You want:

1080p
60fps
space battles
single player campaign
endless planets???

All on consoles?!?!?!?

I for one am extremely pleased by what I saw. I'm all over this hype train

F it I'll drive the train....

Choo Choo m'ferssssss

Keep in mind they couldn't create maps freely like they would with Battlefield. They had to stay true to the source material.

Could care less about 1080P/60FPS, I could also care less about how it looks in general. I do want Galactic conquest which had a lot of planets though, and space battles which were in BF 2.

It's almost as though people want features from a game made a decade ago.

So...No space battles, no single player campaign, DLC up the wozzu.

I shouldn't be shocked since this is EA we are talking about...but still. Somehow, stupid me expected Dice to at least have the same amount of content as one of the last two games.

If this is how Battlefront is going to go down, I would have rather seen an HD remake of Battlefront 2 instead. :(

-Has two player splitscreen
-It sounds like there isn't a traditional campaign and something more akin to spec-ops from CoD
-Modes vary from 8 players to 40 players
-You can toggle between first and third person
-There's flyable vehicles but no space battles

Yeah, thinking this game is not for me. Hope there is more star wars games coming out with a little more meat to the single player experience.

If they really put love into these maps I'll be happy. They did terribly with Battlefield 3, but they did a pretty good job with Battlefield 4.

Maybe a de-emphasis on destruction will allow them to design some really spectacular battle arenas.

If they give us bots instead of a single player campaign, that`s probably good news. Have you tested single player in Battlefield? It`s simply horrible. It`s short, scriptet, and the gameplay isn`that good. If you want a true Star Wars single player game, don`t let it be Battlefront.

Stop exaggerating. Few people expected 1080/60fps on consoles with the that crazy level of detail and who in the hell asked for endless planets? Don't be ridiculous . Some people expected SP and space battles because the games that came out before had all that plus more.

Alderaan, Coruscant, Bespin, Yavin 4......

Alderaan is gone, Coruscant is only relevant if they're going into the prequel era, and Bespin didn't have a battle on it. Yavin 4 is the only one really missing, and I suspect all of these will show up either in DLC or in a sequel.

I'd love to see an Alderaan map based on McQuarrie's artwork.

You realize he is just a character in a multiplayer shooter? He can appear on any map

Not if the Battle of Jakku as depicted in-game is supposed to be canon within the universe, and they've said it is.

It was an exaggeration, glad you picked up on that...smart you are...

I don't remember there being a big battle on Sullust in the movies.

I thought it was pretty clear from the panel that the battle on Sullust is something that was discussed with Lucasfilm. There will be story covering the 30 years between ROTJ and TFA that is told across games, films, books, etc. It's not like nothing happened there, they just need approval from Lucasfilm.
