Leaked Battlefront info (40 players, heroes, free Ep7 DLC, FPS & TPS) [Full Screens]

Alderaan is gone, Coruscant is only relevant if they're going into the prequel era, and Bespin didn't have a battle on it. Yavin 4 is the only one really missing, and I suspect all of these will show up either in DLC or in a sequel.

I'd love to see an Alderaan map based on McQuarrie's artwork.

And when did Tatooine and Sullust have a battle on them in the movies anyway?

60 fps sounds so awesome. Not because I can't live without it, but if we're getting games looking like this at 60 fps, just imagine what will be possible with time this gen.

Welp just saw the trailer. I don't care what anyone says. That shit got me hype. Hearing the sounds effects. Hearing that music. Watching the Battle. That's Star Wars and I can't wait to play it.

Everything to me sounds good. I do wish there were space battles but that's coming. Either in post launch expansion or a sequel.

Everything else sounds good.

Not if the Battle of Jakku as depicted in-game is supposed to be canon within the universe, and they've said it is.
Having a battle there mean noting consider there is only two land battle in the OT.

There's already a Boba Fett movie being talked about and he escaped the Sarlaac in the books. No reason they can't do it again in the movies.

A movie doesn't have to take place post-ROTJ, and the books aren't canon anymore. Could he escape? Sure. But that means EA and DICE just spoiled a pretty big plot point with a quick flash in a trailer.

You got me on Tatooine, but the panel made it clear that Sullust is part of the new canon in the 30 year gap between the original trilogy and the sequel trilogy.

Has there been any word on offline Instant Action mode? I know there are the missions for SP but I mean the whole 'pick planet(s), pick a game style, pick side and go' from Battlefront 1 and 2.

It was an exaggeration, glad you picked up on that...smart you are...

Yeah, smart of you to make that pointless statement and stating the obvious that I already know that you were exaggerating . Since the only part you exaggerated on was that stupid endless planet part; what people were expecting wasn't that surprising. According, to your statement many only really expected space battles and SP since that was in SWBF2 not anything else in your statement. Smarten up next time.

That's probably what the missions are.

I'm not sure on that. The way they are describing missions make it sound like the Battlefront 2 'campaign' where you go to a planet and you have objectives that aren't in a normal game. Like 'go to x location and pick up item' type of deal, not 'play offline with bots'.

-and they said no space battles.

It will most likely be DLC in the future.

That's what I'm expecting. Right now it seems they're focusing on the original trilogy and Ep. 7, but there's no way they're just going to trash the prequels. It will come in due time (hopefully).

Ignoring 1080p/60fps and the hyperbole, wouldn't that be more of a disk space issue, and not a console issue?

Space is almost never an issue now a days.

The bottle neck is that this game is being made in a compact 2 year dev cycle to come out with the movie and people are expecting way to much. Be happy if it simply plays well, is where i am at.

Every indication (including this game) is that they are going to ignore the prequels

Thank Disney based god

Despite some stuff that doesn't seem great, I'm still extremely excited. Really looking forward to seeing some actual gameplay. What is the likelihood of some leaking out of this event?

What indications? And that would be extremely disappointing. Yeah, the movies may have not been great, but I really like the settings of the prequels, especially Coruscant.

Disney has never done anything about ignore the prequel and They are not going to ignore them, they will be dlc.

I would take a gentlemen's bet this

First off they would have to create all the assets for the clone troopers and their vehicles and the droid army and their vehicles...all for dlc??? Yeah not happening

And beyond that beyond those with strong cognitive dissonance about the prequels no one wants it

I hope that there's a dogfight mode with ships only. There better be mods to fix it if there isn't.

There haven't been ANY mods to BF3 or 4 if I'm not mistaken, saying that it would foster hackers and the tools would be "too advance". With that in mind, I'm expecting this to be exactly the same.

Let be real here, While you may not like the prequel there is a whole generation of people who do Dice would be dumb not to use them. let not forget that they all made a shit ton of money
Dice will use the prequel , and all they really have to dude is droid and vehicles since if the do episode 3 clones.

And when did Tatooine and Sullust have a battle on them in the movies anyway?

The Rebels faked an attack on Sullust to try to draw the Imperial Navy away from the second Death Star.

Vader says "What of the reports of the Rebel fleet massing near Sullust?" and that's about all that is mentioned in the movie.

What am I? A charity? I'm not going to give them $60 for a game missing the features that I want to play. Then pat them on the head and say "That's ok. Maybe you'll plan your development time better next time." I have no doubt that there are plenty of people that will be ok with a Star Wars themed Battlefield game. I'm not one of those people.

Wait, no space battles? Wtf? I hope they remedy that in an expansion. There's no way they'll skip on that in a Star Wars game.

It would be cool if they had a Death Star level with people on foot inside it, AYX-Wings/TIE fighters outside. But I don't think they'll have ground maps where you can just fly out of the planet's atmosphere and into space. That'll be too much.

Then don't, seriously. People should really start voting with their wallets instead of pre-ordering games just based on hype only to come back to forums to complain about stuff and then go on to repeat the cycle once another shiny trailer comes out. I'm sorry if it seems like I'm singling you out (I'm not); I actually agree with your sentiment. I just want people to follow through on it.

Reddit claiming to be on the floor with impressions:

I just saw it, it was in a room that looked like the briefing room from A New Hope. It was incredible and showed a little of everything. It was on Endor. The game is beautiful, sounds great, and, most importantly, looks really freaking fun and like a Star Wars Battlefront game should.

Your dpad commands in the bottom right. With a thermal detonator, personal shield and something else. Reticle in center, obviously. Kills and points show up in the middle of the screen when you get them. Mini map in bottom left. Pretty standard. All pre alpha though so subject to change.

Standard first person. Hip fire and aim down sights. Third person was different. Also standard. No aim down sights for third person I don't think

Not much new info and he's a bit of a homer. Hopefully we'll get clarification on this ADS thing.

I think people need to understand this, we expect so much because the industry has relayed a standard to us.

The previous two games have set a standard, and there's no reason to expect anything less than a full Battlefront 3 from the third Battlefront game. If they didn't want to face those expectations they should have avoided using the Battlefront name.

But, I guess, at EA it's always "less is more." That's certainly been their trend with other franchises; Sims 4, Sim City, and now Battlefront.

That is exactly what I have started to do. I didn't get Destiny for exactly this reason. I had intended to pick it up once it hit around $30 but then everything I heard about the game after its release turned me off from even doing that. As it stands right now I feel like I'll do the exact same thing for Battlefront.
