NP...hope I didnt spoil your location expolration though...that's probably the most fun I ever had in a FROM game tryig to find a secret area WITHOUT HELP.
Area is so tiny though. I definitely loved the idea of a huge library and walking along the rooftops but it had to be one of the shortest areas to fully explore.
Ludwig 2 hand mode. Dash attack, run away. Repeat. Always approach Rom from the the front and a little to the left, to dodge the
ice
What attacks are you getting hit with, we may be able to help you dodge them.
Same here. The path to the boss is pretty neat.

I just can't. Too frustrating to me. I give up on killing those fuckers.
They have 360 view, my weapons do shit damage, also molotovs are somewhat useless, Frenzy is insta kill, and, if it doesn't kill me, it grabs me. I hit at the time for parry, it even makes the sound, but it seems parrying doesn't stop their grab, and frenzy still consumes me. I have no frenzy runes, so I'm basically fucked.

I did at first until I found a way to hit it without having to do that. That's until it goes into its second battle formation. Which I'm having difficulty with. I knew it was too simply to be that easy. Ugh.

Chalice Rom is easy than normal game Rom since you can use the pillars to block his air AOE. Instead of avoiding the little spiders like in the normal, tempt and kill them behind the safety of the pillars. Then, once the path is relatively clear, go to town on Rom.

Finally soloed Rom. interestingly we killed each other at same time then the trophy popped. Was worried id have to do again but went back and got my souls and spoke to npc.
Also interestingly its the second time ive really struggled with a boss (other was bsb) but after spending hours on him its friday night and ive had a couple of drinks. Gone is the conservative approach and im steaming in.
Being bold, brave and offensive is definitely the best approach.

Same thing happened to me, and it's not the first time I've read it happening in this thread. Funny.
There are 4 possible cords you can find. You need to use 3/4 before fighting and killing Gehrman to be able to fight the final boss.

It's a good plan but I'm too lazy to kill all those spiders. For regular Rom I just dodged them all.
Thing is (and im sure we all do this) It didn't need to happen that way. I had 9 vials left and could have rolled out of the way but I smelled blood when his xp was so low

ightmare, I just equipped all my best + frenzy gear plus the rune and played them.
Question about NG+:
Why do I still hear the baby crying before even Father G battle?
You can't ignore the little spiders because the area is not wide open like on normal. And, you should be able kill them quickly since they only take like 2 hits from non armor side / back.
Yeah, same. It was actually my first attempt. I was kinda shook that it would break the game or something on the way back, haha.

use the +200 frenzy rune you can find in Forbidden Woods. Lower insight (high insight reduces frenzy resist)
Have sedatives available. Dont kill them just run by them and use a sedative once you are out of their line of sight. With the rune on the time you have is pretty decent before you get killed.
I imagine your insight is higher?
Just in case anyone missed it, the old lady that you send to the church eventually gives you a tonne of sedatives..I cant recall what the trigger was ...likely after ROM?

99. But I thought the baby was related to the woman in white with the bloody dress that is revealed after the death of ROM. I do not recall hearing it before then during the first play thru.

the spider boss, and after that all those giant creatures ( I'm guessing they are the "unseen" and possibly the old gods/cosmic beings ) appear all over, and god fucking damnit they are fucking creepy as fuck.
The new area unlocked is also pretty fucked up and a step up in difficulty it seems, but I think I'm getting used to it by running and just killing the bell ringers.

Quick question:
The hunter that appears in the Grand Cathedral, that our "friend" hunter says that she wants to take care of him...I tried to kill him but he pretty much destroyed me every single time so I decided to move on. Will he still be there after I defeat another boss?
I think post ROM is where you get the hiddenstuff revealed to you...its always there though whether you can see or hear it early or not.....you can see the amygdalas ealrier with insight and my guess is the baby crying is similar?
edit: I am not at the woman in white yet....so not sure.

If your having some trouble, try equipping the more damage to visceral attack rune and make sure your gear has the high def.

build a pvp character. try and build a god character. lvl up some other weapons and trying them out in NG+ or NG++.
