Batman v Superman [Official Trailer Release]

I think I want to take back the negative things I have said about Afleck being the new Batman. He looks good in this.

His looks were never in question. He is a big dude with a Bruce Wayne chin and looks like came right out of the comics.

Like I said earlier, he looked pretty good as DD but his Murdock was subpar.

He doesn't think he needs to speak as he is worshipped by men and is the ultimate power
*

where do you get the idea for this?

Dude, your Nightwing avy is great. *bro fist bump* DC needs to give Nightwing proper justice with a video game or movie but that's for another post.

Supes tried to kill Bats but couldn't because he doesn't have the heart for it. Batman would sacrifice Clark in a nanosecond if it meant saving lives. I'm siding with prep time Jesus any day of the week. All of Supes powers can be schemed around anyway. People are forgetting Bruce's known lack of fucks to hand out in times that shit gets real.

yet it's always Superman that saves the day. time and time again. if anyone holds on to that no killing rule it's Batman. he holds on to it a lot more than Superman. Superman has killed before. Zod and Doomsday to name two. Batman has had chances to kill the joker and always has some contrived reason why he won't.

Sounds like an annoying trite phrase I wish wasn't in it.

jesus such negativity.

Yes, it does. Here is the line.
I quoted that line to you. It is not tied to powers AT ALL in the film. Whether in actual sentences or in actual displays of power; Clark is surviving arctic waters while submerged for an entire flashback, survives and flies in the vacuum of space repeatedly, and in the non-Earth atmosphere of a raging oil rig fire, or during reentry pummeled by Zod grunting (not holding breath), none of those non-Earth atmosphere conditions compromised his powers.

Moreover, it's not even consistent with the view compromise of the helmets since strength is exhibited even before any helmets are.

The only thing linked, three times in the film, to the powers is radiation. Jor-El in picking the star. Jor-El in explaining the powers. Jax-Ur in explaining the powers.

Not once does Jor-El ask Lara, "Does the planet meet these atmospheric conditions?" nor does he caution Kal to avoid vacuums or hold his breath... no, he says, "Strike that panel." precisely because Earth atmosphere means nothing to his powers. This is the most consistent view of the film because otherwise you have to come up with really bizarre justifications for who is breathing what when and why which get convoluted and untenable and, frankly, aren't supported by the dialog or the scenes.

Additionally, the only time atmosphere is mentioned so is gravity... so why aren't we making his powers gravity dependent? Why doesn't he wilt under the literal gravity-weapon if his strength is derived from low-gravity? Why is atmosphere given more weight as a power factor than gravity? Likely because of mistaken assumptions about what the helmets do, but if you don't make those assumptions, nothing in the traditional model contradicts anything that happens in the film; whereas assuming these are factors really over-complicates reconciling everything in the film.

In any case, I'll agree to disagree... it definitely wasn't explicitly stated in the film one way or the other, but the radiation way only requires three rules with no-plot holes: 100% radiation, training, Kryptonian atmosphere block stores... whereas any combination of other factors needs those same three rules AND more rules to justify the extra rules as not being contradictory or plot holes with other scenes.

Food for thought: what evidence do we have that the voice at the end of the trailer is, in fact, Batman? Sure, it's layed over the confrontation between Bats and Supes...but given how many mysteries this teaser presents, it could be a misdirect.

Trailer in HD looks amazing. Its more obvious here that Batmans voice is altered from the suit. I suspect it'll be different when hes in his regular suit.

I think that question should be in the OP of EVERY BvS thread.

Also need to include the phrase "No one knows why they're fighting cause we haven't seen the movie."

yes they fuckin were.

and he looks great now that we get to see him, so those questions have been answered.

Really? I always thought it was more about his acting. I questioned how well he would do in a film where he is not directing and/or writing (seems to do his best) and Snyder/Goyer heading it.

He always looked like Bruce.

At least Goyer is gone and Snyder nailed the batsuit.

Unless it has been confirmed to be Affleck, I stand by my feeling that the voice at the end was actually Eisenberg pitched down with effects over it.

The turn around on Batfleck is amazing.

:lol

Where's that announcement thread when you need it!

Enjoy.

Yes, it does. Here is the line.

nourishing:promoting or sustaining life, growth, or strength: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/nourishing

And just so you don't think i'm cherry picking

nourishing:providing the things that are needed for health, growth, etc:http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/nourishing

nourishing:containing substances necessary for growth, health, and good condition.

At this point, with the use of the word nourishing, strength and powers are tied to Earth's atmosphere in conjunction to radiation.

Superman needs earth's sun to power him up. without it he has no super powers. from my understanding it seems that with Earth's relatively cleaner atmosphere, sucking up solar radiation and a less harsh atmosphere and lighter gravity he can be a superman.

I think that question should be in the OP of EVERY BvS thread.

Maybe we'll just talk one

-Yes, it is a Superman movie with Batman in it
-No, they won't be fighting for the entire movie.
-No, Batman shouldn't stand a chance, but he will put up a fight.
-Yes, it's slightly brighter lookign than Man of Steel.
-No, he still doesn't have the undies.

But it even sounds like a manipulated Affleck line. Not sure how you believe this. Watch an interview with him or something and listen again.

Trailer is awesome.

Anyone got any guesses on how Batman stands a chance against the Man of Steel? Superman only has one weakness right?

Nah.

He's not invunerable, you just need to hit him hard enough. Enemies as strong as he is, or technology that can hit him that hard, can hurt him.

He's also weak against magic, which is unlikely to come up here.

This trailer might have been good on Wednesday. But after the StarWars Teaser dropped, forget about it.

When you put it in comparison, its just mediocre at best sadly =(

it's not even comparable, SW not only releases earlier than this it also already had a teaster trailer before the one released yesterday (which IMO it was very underwhelming). It's fairer to compare this teaser to the first SW teaser, if you are willing to do something like that.

now we're having trailer wars. well one is the first teaser footage we've had and the other is the second official trailer for a movie that,s due Christmas. we can't ever have two good things. it has to be one is better than the other. no ifs and or buts about it.

Its bad timing on their part. They should have held it for at least a week before releasing it or allowing it to be leaked.

it's kind of ridiculous, I don't get the 'have to choose one' mentality.
