Hey, folks. I've been trying to get M
artyr
L
ogarius
down today and haven't had any luck at all. =/ Haven't quite gotten a handle on him once he loses so much health and gets really fast.

I was wondering if anyone was available to answer my bell and lend a hand? I'm level 77, password is the Gaf password in the first post of this thread. I'll be making my way to his fog gate here in a moment and ringing my bell in case anyones available. My PSN name is the same as my username on here.

Sure, I'll help.

I can't join since I'm twice your level but
you can make him parryable by hitting him with a charge attack and landing a visceral attack while he is powering up for the last phase. When he goes in the air for the charge, wait a moment and dodge towards him as he is coming down and you'll end up behind him for hits
.

For new page.

Hmm I never considered the scythe. What does it scale with?

Chikage is cool and all, but really the only great thing about it is the QuickDraw/Pure Blood damage against non-resistances.

In fact, one of the most annoying things about Blood Chikage (besides the degen) is that the programming thinks Chikage's blood damage is gun damage, so when you hit dogs for example they fall down, which is usually only possible when shot with a gun, and thus become invincible/uncomboable on the ground.

Hunter's Axe / Kirkhammer have way more utility/stagger/cheese all around imo.

Just beat this recently. I'm out of level range at the moment but here are some tips for the part you're struggling with.
Charge attack his back and interrupt his buffing animation. He still gets his new moveset and fighting style but you can now flinch him which makes the fight much more manageable. Switch lock-ons and fire a shot at the sword in the ground to get rid of it.

Awesome! I'm sitting pretty here at the gate. I hope I got the gaf password right, haha.

Thanks for the advice as well, guys. Hopefully someone can join. None of the bosses I've fought before this guy have given me much grief. But this one is something else.

I couldn't join so I thought other person did. Going back to try. You have the password in the OP in all caps right?

So what's the next most OP PvE weapon after Ludwig's? Looking to change things up in NG+.

Maybe start pumping BT and go Chikage/Evelyn? Cannon?
Ludwig's? LOL, have you even tried the axe? Because nothing beats the axe for a STR build. Blade of Mercy for a SKL build. Chikage is underwhelming even at 50 SKL and 50 BDT.

Ludwig's holy blade (the kirkhammer as well for that matter) does a lot more damage than the axe though.

so I rented this and received it from gamefly a while back and, I gotta say, I actually did enjoy my time with it a bit just wandering around and running into a boss fight completely by mistake.

Trying to grind for echoes to buy healing items and such so that I could retry said boss fight is the worst fucking thing in the universe though. Had to resist smashing everything in the room >.>

This is NG+ bruh, I have transcended the need for a build. I just want to fuck shit up in the funnest way possible.

I prefer the axe for versatility and crowd control. Kirkhammer has serious range issues, not to mention you can hit for suboptimal damage at certain distances.
Chhikage with the right blood gems and 50 bdt hit harder than a truck lol
I have one at +10. It has higher stats on paper but it's too slow and the movelist lacks variety. Blade of mercy beats it hands down in terms of dps, stunlock ability and versatility without needing the extra stat investment into Bloodtinge.

Ironically I found Ludwig's one of the least fun weapons. Use the stakedriver or beast claw then. All of the weapons are OP once you level them up, put in the gems etc etc.

I kind of agree with this. It is less about the weapons and more about the player's ability to use them well. Once you upgrade it, invest your stats for it and gem it the weapon will get the job done, they just do it in different styles.

Logarius' Wheel does work.

Just spoke with the blonde NPC guy, and he spoke about M
artyr
L
ogarius
and freeing him. Can he be summoned for that fight?

I accidentally hit that hunter dude guy near Odeons Grave. I reloaded in the hope that he forgot but alas, I had to end his life. Consequences?

AFAIK no. I just know one NPC summon for a boss for sure, and that's A
lfred
against the BSB. I heard something about Cleric Beast, but I didn't see any proof when that debate was going on in this thread.

How do the scaling Bloodgems work? Do they literally make leveling the specific attributes more effective (like get 4 points towards strength or skill rather than 2)? Otherwise they don't seem to offer more damage.

Yellow hunter guy?

If yes: he's an asshole, he would have attacked you regardless if you hit him or not

The high level gems are very good. You can get 21-23% physical attack up and they stack. So you could potentially get a 50-60% damage boost. And this is not with just Damp gems.

Not sure, he's at the part where you go around the outside of the church, down a flight of steps and he's kneeling or praying at a small alter. To be clear I hit him a week or so ago but went back tonight to check on him....he remembered my accidental attack.

Does he have grey/blue robes? If so, you'll miss out on
gestures and a rune
. Maybe some gear too. Sounds like you attacked A
lfred
.

Don't remember him being in the Oedon's Tomb section though.

On Defiled Chalice Layer 2 and just made it to the boss
Watchdog of the Old Lords

lol fuck this guy. Gonna take some memorization and some time to beat him. =/

You can summon Father G to help with the Cleric Beast. I think you can only summon him in NG+. I didn't see the option to summon during my NG.

You might prefer its moveset but saying that it's the best STR weapon is arguable. During first playthrough and a half my main weapons were the axe and the kirkhammer but I ended up using the kirkhammer almost all the time.

It's got a higher damage output and the sword is great for stunlocking enemies (it's fast, does good damage and takes very little stamina). I never had issues with the range: it might not be as good as the axe in 2H mode but it's sufficient in most situations.

After that I switched the axe for the burial blade because of its very high health regain. I tried the blades of mercy but I end up getting a better DPS and stun with the kirksword so I didn't find them particularly useful. They look really cool though.

I have a question for experts in networking here.

My friend lives within 3km of my house, if I play coop with her it would be instantaneous because of the distance, right?

Every video I see of the E
brietas
boss fight, people are avoiding
the laser light show
wrong. You don't dodge, you just run left or right and the attack will miss every time.

Unlikely. You're still going through your ISP's exchange, servers etc. Then there is the netcode and how the game searches. Being closer might make the searching a bit faster when set to local but from my experience it doesn't really matter much ie I get random connection times when playing with friends 10km away and 100s of km away. I'm no expert though.

Yea, seems like you attacked
Alfred
like ArkkAngel007 said. Although I haven't seen in near that place you mentioned.

The ISPs main network stuff (the big steel tower things) are within 10km too, maybr that helps?

Does the version of the game matter? I have the US digital version while she has the PAL disc version.

Had an excellent co-op partner join me to help fight
Watchdog of the Old Lords

helps so much to have someone lure its attention and the other attack from behind. Always gave me good cues when to run and attack and retreat,

Onto the next Layer now -_-;;

Fuck M
artyr
L
ogarius
. This fucker doesn't get down to below 50% before he goes SSJ all over the map. Good luck parrying that shit. And also dodging it.
Vilebloods
must be some fucking serious killers if they whopped this fool's ass.
