Something i dont understand is if i get summoned to someone elses world theres no loading but when i get sent back immediately theres loading. ???

She is not there, damm it, i dont know where to find her :S
She appears after you open the gate by the wooden shield on cathedral ward. However she will not appear if you kill
Vicar Amelia I believe, which messes the quest up. The next time she will appear will be after you kill Rom. She will be at the grand cathedral as a hostile hunter. You will have to kill her to get her badge tho

Im thankfull for all your help, but shes not anywhere, not cathedral ward, grand cathedrall. tomb of oedon, nothing, gonna give up, i already heard theres a bug with this hunter too so maybe mine its just bugged :S

Just lost +1M echoes on a Chalice

Although the witches in root ihyll are plain stupid. Especially when they put two of them. It's not just the mobs, it's also the framerate going into Blighttown level of shit. Why put two when the game can't handle them?
Frames for me don't even tank, it's the positioning of the witches that gets me. The one I encountered was on top of the stairs spamming her summons, which by the way is unfair. You take one out and she instantly has another one while you're being stunlocked by the other twigs. If you try to attack her quickly, she'll do an aoe which is game over since you'll be swarmed. Summoning enemies in chalices are op.

Any good tips for the blood starved beast? Items or equipment to use, maybe?

Try to parry in 1st and 2nd stages.

3rd stage is a pain, stay calm, fire is super effective, oil urn + molotovs will help.

Use the pillars to protect and heal.

When poisoned, sometimes is better heal and after that use the antidote.

Just entered the Ihyll Dungeon, and in one of the rooms there's this brick wall with Messenger lamps like it's some kind of door. Any way to go through?

Black/White Church attire for poison resistance. Its right arm swing is very easy to parry and visceral attacks take away a good chunk of health, just be careful once it switches phases and starts to exude poison.

Throw Pungent Cocktails against a wall or something to distract its attention. The Blood-Starved Beast will actually heads towards the location and try to attack it about 2-3 times. Thus allowing you a hit with the charged R2.

Did you go straight to the Grand Cathedral lamp post? You might have to go to the Cathedral Ward lamp post and walk there. Or she could show up there after you kill another boss or two?

Have you tried hitting it? Does the wall make a weird sound when you're by it? That is how you can tell if there is an illusionary wall. Much better than the nonsense in Dark Soul's 2 random wall out of your way.

Honestly I've loved Bloodborne and I've vouched about the game to all my friends who won't give it a chance but FUCK THIS GAME!!! It takes so bloody long to walk back to Shadow of Yharnam and I just get killed every time. Fuck this game right in the butt!!!!

The you missed a shortcut. You shouldn't have to fight anyone on the run to him, maybe one hog or one snake man.

There's a shortcut that let's you get there in a minute or less.

wow right after I type this I beat that mother FKER!!!! YAHAHHHHHHHHH

Third layer Defiled chalice boss is making me go hollow. I have watched all the videos and am doing all of the strategies but I still can only make it half way into the fight before getting instantly killed either by being jumped on or by being stun locked by three hits in a row. Sometimes I die with 19 or 20 vials on hand because I pretty much haven't been hit for the entire fight.

I'm going to see if having 66 insight is affecting this because I simply cannot figure out how to get this boss to be predictable or fair. I have solo'ed the entire game up to here, so...

Yup, it looks like other walls I've opened but it doesn't react to weapon attacks. The fact that there are the little lamps on the ground it's whats making me think you are supposed to open it somehow.

Maybe it's some kind of shortcut and opens from the other side though. I'll keep looking.

Black church gear is helpful, fire paper is effective, and pungent blood cocktails can distract him. But the best tip is to circle strafe him and dodge towards him when he attacks. You'll end up at his back able to get a couple good hits in. You can also parry him pretty easily if you stay midrange.

Don't be afraid to be aggressive with him. Not to be confused with being greedy. The fight isn't too bad if you stay pretty close and dodge behind him. There isn't much he can do at that point. Just make sure you have some antidotes on hand

When she summons her minions my fps goes to shit.
Btw, in that Chalice, both witches were enclosed behing some kind of carriages. Everytime I go behind that carriage to kill them... well, the minions always gangraped while blocking me the exit.

I had Ludwig's Sword at a +8 and I didn't even bother with Arcane defense, just went with physical since you can just dodge the
laser beams
. The main thing is you got to be patient, the fight took me 7 minutes since I just waited for openings and wasn't greedy. When it is about to do the "arcane" attack just dodge dodge dodge until its done.
Is going all in on one stat for bosses bad? I'm just guessing/experimenting on this stuff, but I've been doing physical res and fire/arcane damage for dudes and beasts, and arcane res and electric damage for
cthulhu monsters
bUt my arcane armor has shit physical defence so if bosses can do both I'm boned.
Finally fucking beat
Ebrietas
took me like 10 tries and during my last bout with it my wife sat down and was cheering me on lol

Feels damn good to beat that one, now on to the next!
My girlfriend criticizes me constantly when I play :-(

"Stop dodging backwards! Dodge to the side!"
Go back and find the stuff you dropped into a pit.

So shouldnt I be able to buy all of the starter weapons in the messegers shop? The hunter blunderbuss and threaded cane arent showing up in there for me.

Fuuuuuuu. Got it down the final form and of course died.

This boss is slightly too hard.

Edit: I'm uploading a video now. 8 minutes is too long a fight. I must be missing something obvious (like a clear window for visceral attacks) but honestly even getting into position to bait the leg stomp is a challenge with this fight. I wouldn't complain if they nerfed this boss's health a bit.

Question on Chalice dungeons.

I have 3 seperate Pthemeru's chalices. Are these all different? Once I've killed all the bosses of the chalice (layer 3) is there any reason to keep it on the alter?

They are all different, do them in order, they get harder as you go.

If you've gotten all treasure and killed all bosses, no reason to keep a chalice open unless it has a good farming spot. I have a chalice where I can farm 100,000 echoes in a couple minutes, so I leave that one open.

Gotcha, thanks.

Do all mobs repop including bosses?

edit: Yea I've completed my first 2 chalices. I have a 3rd, but I'm not going to get 100k on those easy/early ones :P

You may need supplies you can only get in one chalice for the next. Make sure you can start the next one (order is by depth. 1, 2, etc.) Then you can get rid of it.

Also though, one chalice has a weapon you can only get in that chalice (beast claws) so make sure you pick that up.

Cleared the
main story in 36h at lv92. Still haven't tried chalice dungeons

I thought I spent way more time with the game, but I cleared it within 40 hours as well (including 4 chalices). Shortest Souls game so far. Dark Souls I took me around 70 hours the first time.

I managed to beat the S
hadow
of Y
harnam
on the first try, though I very nearly died at the beginning and end of the fight. I had faint flashbacks to the
gank squad
from Dark Souls 2's DLC.

I'm trying to transition from the Saw Cleaver over to Lugwig's, but at the moment I'm finding it less useful than the cleaver. Does anyone know if the stats on the weapon screen are for the weapon in its default state or the transformed version? Because my cleaver and Ludwig are upgraded to the exact same level (+6), and the Ludwig has much better blood gems, but I swear the cleaver is consistently causing higher damage on everything but the transformed attacks. Yet in the stat screen the base damage of the Ludwig and the scaling bonus should put it far ahead of the cleaver.

Fighting boss -> lose a ton of blood vials -> start scouring for new ones/buy -> fight boss & then repeat all this again. It's getting a bit annoying.

Well, I've arrived at the Defiled Chalice. Keeper got me twice with a sliver of health on her, but I'll get her eventually. From what I've heard I should be more worried about the bosses after her...

happened to me too, i forgot to talk with her in the sewer (dunno if she was there) and then she disappeared, i kept checking her locations but never happened. the hunter in gascoigne location too never spawned. alfred sign in front of the BSB too. maybe it's a bug.

Find an area that lets you farm a bunch of souls quickly and just buy stacks of them. It varies depending on where you are in the game, but you can buy up 99 vials fairly quickly with a lot of farm routes.

Much better than trying to farm drops for them.

From my playthroughs, I found that doing bosses in this order guarantees her showing up:

Cleric Beast -> Father G -> Blood Starved Beast -> Witch of Hemwick

Just make sure you've talked to her in the sewers after beating Cleric Beast & she should be in the cathedral ward after beating the fourth boss.

I might be mistaken, but I think the most important step is beating four bosses before the time of day advances
beating Amelia advances the time of day
.

EDIT: Someone should try beating
Darkbeast Paarl
instead of
Witch of Hemwick
, we don't know whether beating four bosses makes her show up or if beating that fourth boss in particular does. I'll try doing that for my next character.

How are people fighting three witches
of Hemwick
?

Four characters now & it's always two.

they're two and the second one doesn't spawn in the middle of the battle, she's always there. last time i fought them the first one still has half life but going around the map i kept meeting the second, and i was backstabbing her everytime. when her lifebar appeared she was pretty much already dead

I keep getting rekt but am making some progress now. 8 minute failure here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfItFCio-QA

So... Some defiled chalice layer 3 boss observations:

standing still during the jump only works if you were very close or behind when the jump happened. In the end phase the jump is not always away from you; if you are already away, it's a one hit kill so roll roll roll.

It is very annoying how easy it is to wiff a swing. I wish my character was smart enough to actually swing at an arm if that's the only thing near by.

Getting into position to bait the leg stomp is key; staying far away in front to bait the laser is probably the easiest way to get to the leg.

Might just be getting confused that they "respawn" if one isn't killed a minute or so after the other. It's not a new, or third one.

Yeah that's what I thought, but some people were saying they fought three, I tried farming insight & I got it to 40 before fighting her in one of my characters & it was still two.

What exactly do I have to do in order not to bug Eileen's quest? >_<

It worked fine on NG, but she died, then bugged after the first encounter on NG+ and on NG+2 she never appeared. I want her rune and gestures for this character, so I'm gonna finish NG+2 and start NG+3 today just so I can have them. I'm prepared to suffer with the bosses HP. >_>
