What exactly do I have to do in order not to bug Eileen's quest? >_<

It worked fine on NG, but she died, then bugged after the first encounter on NG+ and on NG+2 she never appeared. I want her rune and gestures for this character, so I'm gonna finish NG+2 and start NG+3 today just so I can have them. I'm prepared to suffer with the bosses HP. >_>

It's not a bug, her quest just requires that you do things in a particular order, see my previous post, it worked for me for three characters now.

Third layer Defiled chalice boss is making me go hollow. I have watched all the videos and am doing all of the strategies but I still can only make it half way into the fight before getting instantly killed either by being jumped on or by being stun locked by three hits in a row. Sometimes I die with 19 or 20 vials on hand because I pretty much haven't been hit for the entire fight.

I'm going to see if having 66 insight is affecting this because I simply cannot figure out how to get this boss to be predictable or fair. I have solo'ed the entire game up to here, so...
Seems dumb, but when he does his jump attack, don't move. He won't hit you. Took me awhile to figure that out. Do a charge R2 attack to get in a free hit, and then, run toward his back to get away.

As for the hand stomps, I notice he hits first with his right hand. Thus, move right in a circular around the ring platform on the ground, dodge right 2x when he starts his AOE hand stomps, and once his head hits the ground, run and attack 1. Repeat.

Does anyone have a few tips for beating Ebrietas at SL4? She keeps one shotting me with the charge attack or stunlocking me for two hits with basic swipes, and I haven't gotten her below 80% health yet :/ Using a Hunter Axe +10 and a Saw Cleaver +9

That jump attack thing is not always true, unfortunately for me 8 minutes into the fight again. It was a one hit kill then too. I just can't seem to get this boss done "right"' maybe I just need to play more cowardly.

His jump never hits me if I stand still and I have fought him a few times now. Maybe, you were too close to the back wall, and thus, his jump has no where to go but land / hit you. I would suggest you stay on the inside edge of circular ring, see it on the ground.

Nope, I was no where near the wall. Turns out if it's jumping from far away on top of you, it's going to hit you. Only does it in final form and only has done it once so far. I dunno if I saved that death or not but you can watch my other video to see how I've been trying it. I'm trying the stay far away circle to the right bait the arms out stretched strategy now.

Does anyone have a video of a legit good strategy against B
loodletting
B
east
in the Great Pthumeran Iyll Chalice dungeon?

He's absolutely destroying me and every video I watch doesn't really have much in the way of strategy.

One strategy is to never ever leave his ass, even if you're healing, his attacks don't hit you when you're too close.

What's a good level to clear Lower Loran and Defiled dungeon? I'm 120ish, the first boss of Defiled after the buff basically one shots me with 40 VIT. Any suggestion?

The long range punch is the thing that gives me trouble. For that, I strafe right and dodge right when he attacks. Hope, you have a better way. When he does his AOE, run up and hit him 1-2x.

For the rest, it's easy. When he's up close (camera pans up), he does 4 things:
1) you get too close to his hind legs, he'll do a foot stomp. Don't do this.
2) he'll jump away. If he does his AOE afterward, run toward him and attack 1-2. If not, just run to him and repeat.
3) he does a hand / body stomp. Just dodge back, run toward him and 1 hit. Repeat.
4) multi hand stomps. Dodge 2x toward him, walk toward his thigh, 2 hits and back out. Repeat.

Even after the worm comes out, don't be scare and continue doing the above.

anyone knows if I can get the trophy
for killing Darkbeast Paarl in the Chalice dungeons instead of the one in unseen village?
I'm assuming I only get the trophy if I kill the actual boss in the world outside of the dungeon but thought I'd check

Did it by the skin of my neck with this strategy first time! Thanks man! Heart is pounding...

I think that's around the level (?) I did it around lvl 128 - 134. Use Clockwise Metamorphosis to help boost your HP. You can actually parry the first boss of the Defiled dungeon to death. Wait till
The Keeper swings the sword, then shoot :) I can post my parry video if you think it will help.

edit: for the Defiled Pthumeru dungeon

edit2: forgot to mention I had no idea you could kill Father G before he transform into a beast D:

So I've powered through 3 chalices. I'm up to 52 insight and I was told to go outside (when I got over 40) Cathedral Ward and look around.

WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT.

Ok I'm getting to the point that I can dance around forever never getting hit but landing a blow is hard. If I go to the right its really easy to dodge but very hard to hit the boss, and if I go to the left it's easier to hit the boss but way harder to dodge. I'm doing 357 damage to the arms and 74 to the legs. Am I just under powered? Should I be using arcane or fire gems instead? My last failed attempt was 10 minutes long and I still had 30% of the bar to get rid off.

Does anyone have a video of defiled chalice boss three being killed with th saw cleaver?

Got in at 2am this morning after a night out on the drink and after a few whiskey shots I decided to
give German another go to get my third ending. I'd been struggling to beat him for the last 2 days so didn't hold up much hope given I was pretty wasted. Low and behold I one shorted him (using only 4 vials in the process) then straight on to moon presence, who I'd never faced before, and beat in in one go.

I think the lesson I've learnt is that while drunk I'm fantastic at blood borne. Sober I pretty much suck.

Only chalice dungeons to go to nab my platinum. Thanks for a wild ride From.

Haha!! I love that moment!

I was legit shook. I turned my game off for a while like "whaaaaatttt..."
Wait! What is it??

Also a note on PvP: I have had my first couple of invasions. They're a little laggy which I didn't appreciate. But the vial system really makes the fights drawn out. From what I can tell, gun staggering is the only way to cancel a healing animation if they've run away.

I'm finding E
brietas, daughter of the Cosmos
to be pretty tough. I've been able to kill all the bosses up to now within 2 tries at most. Not this one...

I'm wondering if my weapons are a bit underleveled. Currently mixing it up between Ludwig blade and Kirkhammer, both are at +6. Should I try to level them up and come back later or just git gud?

Honestly, I'm not sure that leveling up your weapon to +8 or so will make that huge of a difference. That's a tough boss. Use fire paper and hug her left side, but not right behind her. I used the Ludwig and went to town one handed. The two handed left me wide open for counters.

The saving grace is that the lantern is so close to her, but no doubt, she's tough.

Accidently killed Eileen XD...noooooo.

I was on the steps of the
Cathedral
entrance, and set my controller down...R2 was pressed. Dead.

I can't warp from hunter's dream to Hemwick area even though the lamp is lit. Is that a bug or how it's supposed to be? When I die in Hemwick, the game puts me back into Oedon Chapel. :/

edit: nvw, different gravestone.

Just keep the pressure applied when their health gets low. You can also parry the heal animation if you time it right. Basically shoot when they start backing up not right as they heal.

Heads up for anyone looking for PVP. Theres a Pthumeru Root Chalice Glyph over on Reddit for people that want to get no healing duels in. The Glyph is hizzngr3. Im in there at level 95 if anyone wants to try and match up

Like dark souls, there is an item that prevents healing for a few seconds. It's called Numbing mist and you can buy at Hunter's Dream. Essential for pvp!

Nice!

Not sure I like how much crazier the last few areas are. A lot of weird stuff gets thrown at you and makes the areas a pain to explore. I loved Yarnham and it's connected areas and the closest that comes to it is Cainhurst late game. I have been co op the last areas a lot more just because it makes the areas a lot more fun to endure. I wonder if that was the idea was to encourage co op late game.

Thanks for the tip. I'll just keep trying to learn her behavior and attacks. I got her down to under half but then she started
shooting laser like stuff at me
and I raged lol

Ok, I feel better watching this video and seeing that it's really three hits that cause my doom. Get stomped, I heal safely, then heal a second time too soon afterward and get hit immediately, then dodge directly into a swinging arm and die.

At least I'm consistently getting the first phase done with minimal mistakes. This last phase is frustrating; it's easy to play it safe and bait the jump, but it means doing 70-115 damage at a time against something with thousands of hit points left.

Need some help restoring my sou-errr, blood echoes. I died in
Odeon Chapel (the area after the first boss), killed by that weird echoing orb thing. I knew I should have avoided it but I was curious about it.
Anyways, I went to that area, searched the ground, and killed all the enemies but I didn't get them back. Any help?

Finally beat Martyr Logarious. Thanks udo-ten for the coop help if you're reading this. Even with coop help, this fight is pretty tough. After about 7 cooperators died on me, I finally got someone good. Glad to have this boss behind me. What next? I guess Unseen Village to visit One Reborn?

Yeeeeeeeeeaaaahh!!!!!!!

Got to Rom Last night. Hes definitely tough. Any advice or tips for whooping his ass? I think Im level 52
If you are going with an str build then get the cannon and a tonitrus+6. Ignore the spiders and go to town. If you dont have these 2 weapons i suggest a more safe approach. Kill all the spiders before focusing rom, when she fires the ice meteors start rolling about 1 second after they start comming for you. The Tonitrus only requires 12 str i think so it really is a good weapon for this fight, bolt paper makes it easier if you dont want to lvl up the tonitrus

I keep getting rekt but am making some progress now. 8 minute failure here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfItFCio-QA

So... Some defiled chalice layer 3 boss observations:

standing still during the jump only works if you were very close or behind when the jump happened. In the end phase the jump is not always away from you; if you are already away, it's a one hit kill so roll roll roll.

It is very annoying how easy it is to wiff a swing. I wish my character was smart enough to actually swing at an arm if that's the only thing near by.

Getting into position to bait the leg stomp is key; staying far away in front to bait the laser is probably the easiest way to get to the leg.

You're going to do this. I BELIEVE IN YOU, MAN.

kill all the spiders during the initial phase, then go to town on Rom and hit him as many times as you can. Keep singing while he teleports. After that kill the spiders that are off on their own, but don't worry as much about killing all of them. Just thin them out so you can make some runs into Rom, take a few swings, and get out. I didn't lock onto him the entire fight and that made it easier to dodge his magic attacks. Don't get greedy or you could get hit by a spider. If you get knocked down close to Rom then I imagine it would be game over.

Are there any benfits in applying an elemental gemstone to your weapon as opposed to just popping a bolt or fire paper? Seems like some enemies take zero damage with the stone on.

IIRC, what I did was
kill the spiders and then rush around his back side and do as much damage as possible before he does the Arcane attack from the water. He'll spawn more spiders then just rinse and repeat. I think it took me 2 waves of spiders before I actually killed him. You really want to stay as close as possible to keep him from shooting at you. That attack is the biggest threat, imo since it's a pain to dodge them. If you stay close he shoot from the water up, which glows before it comes up, giving you enough time to dodge it.
