Anyone else get this in their e-mail?

There are some strange yellowish skeletons along the road in Yahar'gul. They're sometimes not lit when I'm cooping. What's the purpose of these things? I've looked at two wikis and found nothing.

Does creating a normal Chalice dungeon of a certain type (ex. Great Isz) enable you to use a glyph for the root version (ex. Isz Root or Sinister Isz Root) without having to create it once beforehand?

Getting some conflicting info. If so, that's a serious time saver for materials.

Man, Arcane Build is the hardest to plan...

Is the arcane damage on the Mercy and Burial worth making a SKL/ARC build?

Definitely not for Blade of Mercy. It only does Arcane damage on certain attacks (attack out of rolls/dodges, one of the R2s, maybe another). You can tell because there will be a visual effect on the weapon and the weapon swing will have a different sound.

What's your damage output? At that level you should be able to stay close and just hack/slash away. Dodge and stay topped off.

I used cleaver and deals about 700-1k. I got her to 25% three times, but got wiped by her m
agic shots
or whatever you call it.

It does like 2-3 times the damage for me if I evade attack which is what triggers the arcane damage. Blades of Mercy is such a weird weapon. It's straight up attack is fairly weak, but if used right (evade and attack) can really wreck enemies.

I'm a high ranking finance manager at a fortune 100 company and yesterday we had legal in our office presenting the 2015 leadership principles that would be used across the company. After explaining who she was, the lawyer said "I hope you gain insight here today" and I spent the next 15 minutes debating which boss granted me the highest number of insight instead of paying attention. This game reeeeeaaalllllyyy sinks it's teeth into you.

You need to create the root first

Jeez, these NG+ enemies and first boss health is just insane. Felt like I was hitting that first boss for 15min straight before it died.

Started NG+
So far
killed Father G, I saw Eileen for the first time in the game and did the 3 first steps in the quest, after that arrived at Hemwick, this time before killing Amelia so it isn't dark yet
I try to change the experience as much as possible, I want to kill Paarl before old Yharnam etc.

What's your weapon upgraded to?

My experience is that you need to keep constant damage going. Then you'll stagger the boss and never experience any of those magic missiles. Staying at the sides, just a little to the back, seems to work well if you just dodge when necessary.

Man this game has me hooked! I killed the church boy in Old Yarnham. Homie had two swords AND a hammer AND a shotgun! Then i shot some guy manning a gatling gun off a tower aaah. Love this game sooo muccchhhhh aaaaaaaa

Then what's a good all round arcane weapon? Other than Ludwig.

dude what. whaaat.

are you saying
Cleric Beast
isn't one of the required bosses?
It is, but what hes talking about is a glitch, where you can jump over a fence and skip a part of the game. I wonder if this glitch will be fixed in the next update.

EDIT: Come to think of it, i guess it might be possible to run directly to
Father Gascoigne
. But what he talks about is that glitch at least =)

I would avoid Chalice Dungeons. I found the first one to be really boring and they are not required to beat the main game. I guess the later ones have some good items and you also have to do them to get trophies, but otherwise, I'd just skip them.

The first few are boring but I've sunk about 30 hours into them so far. They get way more fun because the layout complexity increases, and way harder with chalice only enemies and bosses (15 unique ones, some of which are awesome and others kind of ok.)

Do them one at a time, or even a single layer at a time, spread throughout you NG, to maximize the novelty and to make sure you don't out level them and make them trivial. The Depth 4 and 5 chalices are on par or harder than the main game.

Wait, glyph Chalices don't use up materials? This changes everything.

Also, the internet says if the Root doesn't use any extra offerings, you can use a glyph code without first having to create the Chalice once.

This really needs a guide.
