ugh... Him just looking tired, mouth agape like that... This is fucking Batman, surrounded now by the cops, and he just looks high as fuck. Begins and Dark Knight had some awesome, intense close-ups on him where the dude looked fucking fierce. This was such a disappointing "Batman's back!" scene.

Yeah.

Batman's there looking like James Rolfe. Not even 5 minutes back and he's already fucked something up. What a clown.

this is what you want

So a supervillain who blows up a school and calls himself a monster isn't a monster?

That's not how it works.

Say Bill Gates were asked why did he donate his fortune to charity, and he answer proudly "Because I'm a good person."....would you --- in an instant think he's a good person?

I wasnt hyped at all for this, from all the leaks and all the cameo's, but this trailer looks damn good. I dont know where Wonder Woman and the other's are going to fit though.

I'd already think he was a good person through the whole donating his fortune to charity thing. That wouldn't change just because he thinks it's a good thing to do. And it'd be weird if anyone else did a flip on their opinion of him for it. Like 'oh, it's fine to give money and be a good person... until you say you think you're a good person, in which case fuck you and your money.'

Aquaman is apparently just a cameo. Cyborg is likely not Cyborg yet, and will probably show him as a star athlete getting interviewed by Clark/Lois. No idea of Flash is set to appear in this at all.

Wonder Woman's role will likely be far more substantial. Very likely that she'll be back-up for Bats when he's fighting Supes, similar to Green Arrow helping Batman with a sneak-attack in Dark Knight Returns. Difference is that WW can instead dish out a hell of a lot more damage. That's just me speculating though.

I like Nolan`s Batman trilogy, great movies as whole, super epic. They are much better as Bruce Wayne movies though, especially TDKR.

TDKR is pretty awful but honestly I think that prison escape is one of the best things to come out of the genre. The batman theme slowly picking up, rise, and just before he makes his jump some damn bats swoop out above him

A bunch of people here tend to complain about films in this genre as not being accurate to their source material enough, or not wearing some colourful costumes etc but that scene is as comic-like as anything else imo

I think she'll actually be the one to stop them both from fighting. I just think it'll get really out of hand, shits getting destroyed and she steps in.

Has el marimbas said anything about there being clark Kent moments in the script? It's sorely needed

Faraci said the depiction of Superman in BvS is a huge improvement over MoS, but that there are some scenes which purist will most likely have problems with.

Afflecks already a tank, but they'll have to reduce some of the padding unless we want batman to just stand in one spot for most of the fights

Or maybe he's super quick in this suit but that looks physically impossible from the look of it, we'll see
I bet you havent seen how fast some big guys can move on reality?

I like that we finally get big Batman.

Nothing wrong with getting different Batman with each reboot, same with Superman. It is like all those different graphic novels.

So what's the general consensus about the trailer?

Also the note i watch trailer the more i like it

Generally favorable, Batman looks great, addressing city destruction criticism of the first film is welcome.

The negatives being it's a little too dark and depressing in tone and it's not amazing as some were expecting.

What this guy said, but with the add-on that releasing it so close to Episode 7 probably hurt feedback a tad.

Due to the leak, they had to release it so close. Otherwise we would seen it tomorrow.

Bat timing regardless. They were trying to avoid avengers, but Star Wars is an even bigger beast. Should have been released earlier this year, or later this year with a fuller trailer.

My opinion of the trailer is that it doesn't match up to my personal expectations. It was way too dark, and not in tone, but actual darkness everywhere. This was a trailer about Batman. And it really doesn't explain why Batman wants to beat superman up. Playing the fight up too much. And the music is absolutely horrendous.

Even if star wars hype is there, when this movie releases, it will be the biggest thing in 2016. This is fucking Batman and Superman in one movie. Batman is bigger than any other superhero out there and Superman is on the 2nd place.

I think people who think Star Wars is a sure-fire $1.5B movie are severely overestimating the brand.

Wonder Woman won't be in this movie other than in a cameo capacity. In other words, she won't be in the teaser trailer.

She'll probably have a Black Widow in Iron Man 2 role.

Decent part, but not even the female lead. That'll be Lois Lane (Amy Adams.) Wonder Woman will get a few cool scenes, meaning one less person to introduce in the Justice League film.

It's not a "Wow" sort of teaser, but the more you watch it, the more details come out which you couldn't catch all on a first pass. I'm enjoying it more on repeat as well.

There's the emotional intentions of the two too. TFA teaser 2 is all about warm nostalgic fuzzy feelings... old dialog, old things, old friends with a new exciting adventure presented at a total fan-fest. Its goal is to make you feel everything is in good hands and going to be all right with the franchise.

BvS teaser 1 was forced to release but tonally intended to set a mood of intrigue and unease, to set the stage and stir questions. TFA teaser 1 was also rather dark, didn't move the ball as much in terms of setting the stage, and had a similar ambiguous ominously dark and unsettling tone (an anxious anxiety of breathless people all on the move) to start questions. Neither was meant to make you feel warm or fuzzy, but put you off balance. Cuts without context, glimpses to tease.

BvS teaser 1 arguably did that better than TFA teaser 1, but because the visceral emotions aren't innately pleasant compared to warm fuzzy nostalgia, there is a dissonance for some which unfairly put BvS on its back foot.

All that said, we're 11 months out. It's not a big deal.

The main purpose of the teaser to show fan engagement and it's through the roof. Even with piracy, controversy, etc. BvS is tracking incredibly well, even in TFA's shadow, and those are the metrics the WB needs to finalize its marketing and licensing partners in the next six months before the release of the film.

There's probably going to be a little bit of a second rally after the IMAX screenings too.

I think Star Wars could enjoy a real renaissance if the film is actually really good, it's definitely going to earn a billion I'd say, how high it goes from there is anyone's guess.

As a really casual Star Wars fan even I'm feeling the hype behind Awakens and know it's going to be a huge 'event' film.

How do you know that?

It wouldn't make sense to have her in the movie in such a role that she impacts the storyline. What role will she possibly fulfill in this movie? Black Widow is just a human so her impact in the Iron Man movie wasn't as big as what someone like WW would have.

As much as I liked the force awakens trailer, the real hair-standing-up-on-the-back-of-my-neck induced moments were recycled from the old films. Mainly John Williams music and Mark Hamill's dialogue. I've been burned by that kind of slavish dedication to the past before https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4CuJ08nwJpA (what a surprise, John Williams AGAIN). I look forward to Jurassic Parks trailer on Monday, with the John Williams theme and John Hammond voice-over. Anyway anything in comparison was going to look a disappointment. WB should really have spaced them out.

I'd imagine WW has a pretty decent sized role. She was at comic con last year with Bats and Supes and the image of her in the costume was also there. Shes going to have a bigger role than you think.

John Williams is such a fucking boss. Incredible how well that one short piece of music could evoke so many feels.

Batman suit looks good. Bulky as hell, but a big improvement over TDK and DKR. Honestly, I think one of the big reasons I struggled to get into those movies was because of how bad Bale looked, and sometimes sounded, as Batman. For me, the mask and how it was shaped around his head, neck and face just didn't work. And I can't get into Batman if he doesn't look cool.

Unfortunately, I still don't like Ben Affleck as Batman at all. He just doesn't naturally have the kind of gravitas the character needs and it's not something you can really fake. He's just got this inbuilt, lightweight American dude vibe about him.

I think I can buy on-screen Ben Affleck as the smug public persona of Bruce Wayne.

This Bruce probably isn't going to the fake smiles and italian supermodels in public kinda guy, he's long past the bemusement of upkeeping a double life mentality. Dudes endured some pain. I can't remember what he was in the TDKR comic? Didn't he just meet Gordon for drinks and keep to himself?

Pretty much. This Bruce is halfway to being the curmudgeon from Batman Beyond.
