I... really am a weird person.

I don't really get dark or depressing or even gritty from this trailer.

I get... a bit of cynicism. I think partially because it does "justice" to how news is handled in our country. With just sound bites and extreme views

Ugh.. Affleck. I'm gonna need a bottle of whiskey if I'm gonna watch these Batman flicks with that dude as Bats.

Dude was awesome in Gone Girl and The Town. not sure what is the problem here. (his acting improved big time since his Armageddon/Gigli days)

That's how news is handled in every short movie trailer. Kinda hard to do anything but soundbytes in a couple minutes.

You are not weird, I get the same impression too.

The rather oppressive music and the entire thing being shot at night contributes I would think

Also

THE RAGE

THAT'S WHERE IT STARTS

MAKES GOOD MEN CRUEL

and of course "do you bleed?"

Being at night... really means nothing to me. It has a cool skyline, and seems to be a very stylized night.

The music sure.

I guess depends on how you read the quotes haha.

Like I said, I'm weird.

Daredevil spoilers
I don't think slamming someone's head into a car door.. or vice versa repeatedly is "Dark" either just really violent.

I really don't see how a dark and depressing tone is a bad thing. At all. And I'd say it was more amazing than I could have ever expected. As far as teasers go I don't think they get much better than this.

Its never a bad thing if handled properly. Not every movie need one liner during fight and not every superhero movie needs to be dark and gritty . There is space for GOTG , X-menDOFP. ASM2 and even man of steel and watchemen. just like there are is spcae for Young justice and teent titans go. Man i love teen titans go :D

What? Of course it wont be the actual climax. There is another antagonist. Superman is not the primary antagonist.

The movie is called Batman vs Superman.

Having the fight not be the climax would be a fucking moronic decision.

People are going to see this on the promise of that throwdown

No we're going there to see the dawn of Justice.

like, America was a lawless nation with crime rampant on every street and highway. until Superman and Batman fought one time

He will have no problem looking like a badass Batman and he looks like Bruce Wayne. I think with him bringing in Terrio and giving Goyer the boot it means he has input behind the scenes.

He seems to do some of his best work when he is directly involved.

I don't think there's any doubt that the fight is going to be the climax of the film. The fight will result as a build up of all the enmity between Batman and Superman during the first two acts and will also serve as the catalyst for their team up against the true big bad. That's the very definition of a climax.

Actually theres a ton of doubt, bc most of the leaked info says their fight is not the climax. The climax is rumored to be the three teaming up against
Doomsday

That wouldn't be the climax. It would be part of the falling action towards the eventual resolution.

Wat, the fight will be at the midpointish, maybe a bit later but definitely not the climax. That will be them handling whatever threat Luthor cooks up.

It's the rationale that the crew gave behind the movie being title "Batman v Superman" instead of "Batman Vs Superman" since the movie isn't all about them beating each other down.

Besides, look at this thread. It seems like it can't even wrap its head around them engaging in a single battle, let alone the whole conflict of the movie revolving around them.

They're not going to spend the 3/4's of the film as enemies, that would be very dispiriting. I'm guessing the fight is the midpoint, and then they team up for
Lex and Doomsday

Does anyone have some comparison view stats? the star wars official is at 37 mil with an extra day https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngElkyQ6Rhs

18 million views after a couple of days even when the trailer leaked a day before the official one released is nothing to scoff at.

Star Wars is bigger than any superhero, though, it's not really comparable.

oh right
doomsday
rumors

blech
but it makes sense for this movie, I mean agree it's a shitty villain but it could work here since it's a physical threat big enough to force a team up.

It really sucked for WB to have to release it right after SW. That's the worst part of this. It makes this film and its trailer release seem very small by comparison and in hype. When in fact on it's own its doing really respectable numbers. But being in the shadow of a juggernaut just days before makes it look worse than it is by comparison.

Ideally they should have got this trailer out 2 weeks ago, or have waited at least a week after SW's trailer release. But a fumbled marketing launch a year away from release is nothing, they have time to fix the situation with the next trailer, easily.

Not disagreeing with your point, but the movie is titled Batman Vs Superman in countries where "v" by itself doesn't have a meaning.
