This Bruce probably isn't going to the fake smiles and italian supermodels in public kinda guy, he's long past the bemusement of upkeeping a double life mentality. Dudes endured some pain. I can't remember what he was in the TDKR comic? Didn't he just meet Gordon for drinks and keep to himself?

From a producer on the film

Charles Roven said:
He's much more of a social animal in the Bruce Wayne incarnation, but he's also an extremely rough guy in the Batman incarnation — very, very, very rough

I'm expecting a Bruce Wayne similar to how he appears in Lex Luthor: Man of Steel.

(small image, sorry about that)

That is to say a social, business man type. We'll probably see him mingle with Lex Luthor in that fashion.

Not to beat a dead horse or anything, but I just found this 8 month old image on KnowYourMeme and thought of this thread (particularly the whole grimdark, Batman vs Daredevil discussion from a couple pages ago)

So I just watched Emergency Awesome, IGN Rewind Theater, AngryJoe, JaeRoar, Beyond The Trailer and other Trailer Analysis/reviews on youtube, and it's just weird watching people jumping to extreme conclusions over rather vague two minutes teaser. some of them are like sure that Batman is the villain and some are sure that Superman is now the villain (and it's funny to see people really mad because they think Batman is bad now, or like this MoS fan who lost it to anger thinking Zack will trash Supes now) I mean the trailer don't show anything for sure. I wonder if this what Zack and WB wanted.

Most movie prediction media on the internet is straight bullshit. You see it all the time because it's a way to get website hits and piggy back off the hype of the upcoming film.

Of course they did. The less you know the more you'll say.

I still feel like there's a lot of misdirection happening in this teaser. All we can really do is theorize since the trailer confirms practically nothing other than the fact that Batman and Superman are in the movie. Seeing so many people get outraged at plot points that they are basically making up is weird though.

Hey not really part of this discussion or anything but I was watching the trailer and noticed that the Rocket superman is holding at one point is Russian. Just a small tidbit I noticed.

I'm not gonna lie, I am genuinely excited for this despite the fact that I think it's probably not going to be great. I didn't see Man of Steel, especially not after all the bad things I heard about it, but I'm interested to see an on-screen portrayal of Superman as a god-figure. I think it'd be really interesting to go through that angle, and to see what these every-day humans do about it. If they bill Superman as the villain to that would be pretty cool to see.

I think it proves just how effective the teaser was at manipulating their emotions without them realizing it. If you step back for a second and engage your intellect, what we objectively know to be true about the film (like Superman's supporting cast, like it being followed by a Justice League, etc) and the feats demonstrated in MoS and BvS (Superman is literally saving the day on screen!), there's no way their conclusions can be accurate... yet the teaser made them feel that way, irrespective of what reason and facts would dictate.

That disconnect is awesome because it is EXACTLY what the opening line of the teaser rhetorically says will happen... and means they're going to deliver on it with the film.

Daredevil's hackneyed response regarding "heroes" sounds like it came straight from Sean Hannity's mouth to squelch a debate. Terrible.

You should probably watch MoS if only to form your own opinion on it.

1)Why would you watch all of those?

2)These people/videos mostly serve to only feed into the hype/rage machine. Of course going to take extreme viewpoints.

3)Why are people so intent on making someone the good guy and someone the bad guy? You can have two villains fight or two heroes fight.

Then why does Batman have like 5 sons and Superman can't be with Lois or keep Chris

Damian turned into Chris Kent. wtf

Why not check it out anyway?

there's no way this film is gonna be worse than MoS. Better writer in Terrio, who no matter what you thought of Argo, is just a much better writer than Goyer, the movie will look better than MoS too thanks to it being lensed by Larry Fong. I think Affleck has creative input in this, no way he jumps on-board, brings Terrio, phases out Goyer and not have creative input in the movie he doesn't want another Daredevil on his resume especially after pretty much resurrecting his carreer. It addresses the complaints of MoS and I'm sure after MoS Snyder will go easy on the destruction and action set pieces while still delivering his awesome action sequences.

there's just too much riding on this, I definitely don't want to be Snyder right now but I'm thinking he'll pull it off.

Watch it man. It's awesome. Don't let others opinion stop you from forming your own.

"Tell me, do you bleed" that made me cringe

I hope there isn't more stuff like this in the movie otherwise it was a good trailer

Bruce's personal life is looking pretty good right now in the comics. His kid is back. His business is booming. GCPD is actually helping fight crime now because of Bruce's financial backing. Depending on what happens in the Batman comic we might see Bruce be happy for once.

Man I hate when comic book writers talk through their characters. So much cringe

There is reason for skepticism here. Making a Batman vs Superman movie as a sequel to Man of Steel was a a risky idea and it made it feel like there were problems. First of all, why introduce batman in the first sequel to MOS? It feels like a rush job to get to Justice league. It also feels like Henry Cavill cannot carry a sequel without stars like Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner and Michael Shannon. They had to bring in a big star like Affleck.. Problem is, bringing Affleck had it's problems too :) Then we have the challenge of making a movie that is intriguing, interesting and worth the money. After all, how can Batman face off against a god like superman? who can easily handle 100 batmans?

A LOT to be skeptical about BUT.... I LIKE THIS TRAILER.

They had to be very creative and clever here and i'm feeling it. It looks like this movie is more about a mental battle, an inner struggle superman is facing. The world has apparently turned on him and made him turn dark or at a least trailer makes it seem so. It even seems like he has his own army? interesting. I don't think he's gone bad but someone interesting is going on, a clever angle. Lex seems to be getting public turn on superman, amongst other things i'm sure. It seems batman decides to come out of retirement to face superman and possibly straighten him out! I'm sure they came up with a clever way batman can challenge superman, maybe mental or kryptonite..

On Affleck. A lot of hating but it's unwarranted. Was Bale that much better physically? Affleck is bigger than Bale, more imposing. That suit looks better than Bale and he moves almost cat like in that scene. Affleck gets heat because of his daredevil performance and his good all american look but had he been an unknown, many here would be saying 'This guy looks the part!' but there is extreme bias, which i think will be crushed. Affleck is also brought in due to his directing and script writing talent. I think he definitely adds gravitas to the role and his influence will be felt. He's not only acting here, he surely had a bigger role in this project.

The right people are playing the right roles here. Goyer was a great story teller but weak at script, enter Chris Terrio, who wrote Argo. Affleck surely had a hand in the script too, i bet. snyder is second to none in visuals...

anyway, love the tone.. i was very very skeptical but this looks clever, different and intriguing. People need to stop hating on Affleck, he definitely is one of the best choices for this role. Who else? Bale was out, WHO ELSE? Trust me, none would be better.

Ugh, can't stand this dark and gritty stuff DC is doing. Big part of my childhood was reading supes and wonder woman comics but, and i can't believe i'm saying this, i'd much rather watch a random Marvel movie than DC at this point.

Good, the last thing we need is 4 comic book films a year all with the same tone.

Just watched the trailer on my big screen and holy crap is it more enjoyable than my Note Edge. I'm leaning towards the Batwing and Batmobile being the same thing. They look very similar from the back. Assuming that is the Batwing of course. Still up for debate seeing as how it is shooting at a man holding a gun.

That's the 9/11 issue. Marvel is stationed in New York, and so are most of their heroes, so it hit them pretty hard.

Not cool making fun of it, dude.

I wouldn't call what Marvel did making fun of it.

Although having Magneto, Blockhead(?) and Doctor Doom cry at something so real comes unintentionally close.

Gail Simone said on twitter all the footage in the trailer is from the first act of the movie, that explains the lack of WW.

This sort of stuff almost reads like caricature at this point. Smh.

Hm, not sure if I like it when they'd pull a bait and switch and the Batman Superman fight isn't actually the climax.

Are you kidding me? I would have been happy if this movie didn't even have Batman and the trailer stopped after the false god statue. An entire movie with the earth dealing with this new world they live in would be awesome. Batman is a HUGE bonus and Wonder Woman is almost too good to be true. My movie of forever I tell you!

What? Of course it wont be the actual climax. There is another antagonist. Superman is not the primary antagonist.
Well, I hope they do it in a way that's still rewarding. The main drawing point of the whole movie is Batman vs Superman. If that's over halfway through I'd expect some disappointment.

it's obvious that the fight isn't the climax, the climax is when they team up to fight the villain or the physical threat whatever.

Generally favorable, Batman looks great, addressing city destruction criticism of the first film is welcome.

The negatives being it's a little too dark and depressing in tone and it's not amazing as some were expecting.

I really don't see how a dark and depressing tone is a bad thing. At all. And I'd say it was more amazing than I could have ever expected. As far as teasers go I don't think they get much better than this.

I would love if the next teaser/trailer is cut to make it look like Batman is the villian and Superman is coming in to teach Batman.

That way it's hard to tell who's in the right and makes it harder for film goers to just automatically go, you tell'em Batman!
