If Batman was killing people why would joker be alive an in Arkham especially

if he kills Robin

It's definitely a setup. I doubt they would take so much inspiration from TDKReturns just to have him kill.

Affleck's Batman is straight ripped out of the comics.

It's kind of funny (and sad) how it has taken this long to get a live-action Batman that you can just look at and say is ripped straight from the comics.

They really did an incredible job with the batsuit.

Also, was looking at previous batsuits... How did I not notice the cowl didn't fit Michael Keaton at all?

Yeah, it's really bizarre how it seemingly wasn't made to fit his head (or perhaps they just hadn't quite nailed down the technique for creating the cowl yet).

Although they fixed it for Returns and it looked a lot better:

The first Keaton suit was pretty baggy around the face but, while it certainly wasn't perfect, it was tighter in Returns.

I think Returns has the better suit actually, though I like em both and I think the cowl not fitting super well adds character to it all.

guys i found the real synopsis for Batman vs Superman

introduced Bruce Wayne attempting to shake all of the demons in his life after his five year retirement of crimefighting. Dick Grayson, Alfred Pennyworth and Commissioner Gordon are all dead. Meanwhile, Clark Kent is down on his luck and in despair after his divorce from Lois Lane. Clark serves as Bruce's best man at his wedding to the beautiful and lovely Elizabeth Miller. After Elizabeth is killed by the Joker at the honeymoon, Bruce is forced to don the Batsuit once more, tangling a plot which involves Lex Luthor, while Clark begins a romance with Lana Lang in Smallville.

i thought the trailer was quite straight-forward in its message.

yea, there could be misleading things.

but why do people think alfred's monologue wasn't referring to superman?

okay, maybe it's batman and superman. that happened to batman, and it is now happening to superman. "that's how it starts..." after people turn their backs on the hero, "turns good men cruel".

I thought it was about Bruce/other people in reaction to Clark. You see this all-powerful being come from the skies and some people can't really handle it. So they become "cruel" and angry.

I thought it was referring to either Bruce or Lex; both fit a lot better than Superman, who is more likely to induce a sense of powerlessness than feel one.

I don't think anything will ever come close to that fake script.

I still chuckle at Lois and Martha being drinking buddies.

What about the Aunt Harriet being drunk as shit at Bruce's wedding? Like... Adam West Batman Aunt Harriet. Of all the fucking callbacks lol

Yah that's better. I don't like the changes to the body section though. :P

I don't see where it i supposed to not be fitting him.

Compared to Bale's, which is pretty snug, Keaton's kind of hangs/floats in front of his face

Anyone else find it kinda weird and a bit sloppy that they're going from Man of Steel straight into... Batman vs Superman? Like, I dunno. I didn't see MoS, but as far as I'm concerned, Batman did not make any appearances in that movie. Why are we supposed to care that they're fighting? It just seems weird to me, perhaps it's just a problem with the name of the movie and the actual plot will make more sense of it (Perhaps Batman will be take the role of a tired old hero trying to dismantle this "new hero" whose causing more disorder than good? I dunno), but I dunno.

I feel like Warner Bros and DC are rushing things with this expanded universe.

Yeah, I would like a sequel to Man of Steel instead with Clark working at the Daily Planet etc, but oh well.

Rushing? There's still two movies between this one and Justice League and this one got delayed a year. If anything, they're taking too long.

As for the rest...only thing I can say is wait to watch the movie.

I like that they're using the events of MoS to bring this story forth. It's a great way to do it. I want a MoS sequel as much as anyone but we're going to get that and more Superman here. And they can introduce a new Batman without a solo film which is really cool. And it's not a straight up Just League movie either.

No, I think think they're approaching it in a great way.

I know what you mean, with the
Darkseid
rumors and throwing a lot of the JL into this it seems like they're really rushing to the finish line. I hope it doesn't feel rushed, if we learned anything from Iron Man 2 and Amazing Spider-Man 2 it's that too much universe building at once leads to a bad movie.

I tried browsing through the entire thread so apologies if it's been discussed already but could it be that Superman is seen as false god after all the destruction he inflicted to the city in MoS? Basically crushing buildings after buildings just to get rid of a threat. Maybe that could be the spark to more of a conflicted vision of Superman?

Well he is based off Pre-Crisis Superman, which existed when the original movies were made. So OP that they had to reboot him.

How is he supposed to be challenged when he can do shit like this?
Ig1AGHz.jpg

Not only that, but Routh Superman technically is able to rewind time (lol). Too OP.

His satellite did

Why are we supposed to care that they're fighting?

Didn't you hear? "Who would win in a fight?" is the playground conversation that DC apparently thinks its fans never let go of.

My guess is that a movie about Clark Kent working at the Daily Planet is something audiences have already seen, and something that also sounds boring compared to all the high action being delivered by modern comic book movies.

Count me in as someone who enjoyed the action in MoS, and I like the characterization of Batman being suspicious/jealous of an overbearing Superman....but that doesn't mean I want them to actually fight-fight.

I'm sure it is padded, but Affleck has been looking like a refrigerator lately

He's sure one I would want to grab a cold pop out of. But yeah, something is off about the pics even in his face.

I wouldn't be surprised if they end the movie with a JL tag, but instead of an end credit clip, it just has the text, "Does Superman bleed? Find out in the sequel with Martian and the rest of the gang."

I feel like it makes more sense this way than what Marvel is doing. How is it that their are other Superheroes in your Universe and they don't take notice when a city is leveled or like theirs grave danger? Do they simply disappear when solo movies are made? Makes no sense. The fact that Metropolis was leveled by alien is more than enough reason for Batman to show in Metropolis. I also like the fact that Wonder Woman and Aquaman will make cameos too. It's really difficult to believe that their was a foreign alien race that attacked the world and none of the other superheroes in the universe investigate what the fuck happened and who the hell is Superman.
