Yeah I can't justify buying this digitally. A big part of purchasing this game would be playing other people in person, another part would be owning the definitive edition of Super Street Fighter 4.
This kills it on both ends along with the fact I see zero reason why Street Fighter is such a risky title a physical release can't be justified. The price isn't low enough to counteract this either, but maybe I'll pick it up on sale later, or more likely get it as a free download off PlayStation Plus.

Didn't know a date had been announced already. Digital is right up my alley, and at 25 bucks, it's a steal for the amount of hours I'll get from it. Can't wait for the salty gaf runbacks.

Honestly, I'm not sure how many physical copies of this they could move to justify it. I know it's Street Fighter, but would it be worth it for them?

It's all about retailers shelve space. If they decide to go physical, Sony will probably have to take in $14.00 to allow retailers take $10.
Digital is the way to go for that kind of price. I wouldn't mind paying $35 for it if it was physical. But that's it.

I would imagine a lot of people would pick it up on price alone. people that sold/traded in their PS3s or 360s and people just hungry for next gen content. Ditto with REmake.
Yea, Kinda feels like they burned out the # of physical editions with last gen consoles. ( ex original, super, ultra, and arcade edition)
But since this is it's first time dropping on PS4, Maybe they should do a Limited release with either Amazon, Gamestop or a Sony/Capcom online store exclusive.

Huh, really? Haven't seen any sold here in Sweden so I wasn't sure there had been any. Guess it's either wait and see, import or hope my old ps2 stick will work somehow.

The game is like 8 gig at best on XBL. If people can't download that then they shouldn't be online.

Yeah I've heard about the disconnect but I thought it could reconnect on its own without having to be tethered to a computer. That really doesn't sound like a satisfying solution.
You're required to install all games on PS4, so...why does that matter?

A physical version would certainly make tournament organisation easier. I'd definitely have gone digital if it were a choice, though; I'd never take the disk out if I bought a physical version.

I kinda hope all colours and taunts are unlocked from the off, too. The ass-slappin' Taunt 9 is Dan's very best taunt. I can't imagine using any other.

I generally love having a physical copy for my shelf but a deal is a deal and with fighting games I like the convenience of having it on my hard drive.

Maybe it's because I am a PC gamer and only recently got a PS4, but I really don't understand why so many are complaining about the digital only release.
Is it because you can trade it when you are done?
To me the convenience of not having to swap discs is enough to prefer digital only.
I only got Bloodborne disc because I bought the PS4 from Amazon when they offered a free game of choice included in the price and I chose BB.

It has like twice the characters and way more stupid costumes than that 7 year old game.
This makes no sense to me. If they don't want you playing ps4 games in their next system they just won't allow it. How is having the disc going to change this?
Besides there's nothing saying it's a digital only release. For the last two updates, AE and Ultra, they were released digitally first then as discs later on. Wouldn't surprise me if this is the case here.

They'd need to sign another contract with Marvel since the old one expired a while back. The license however isn't exactly cheap, & Capcom is still trying to bounce back from their financial woes.

Since my 6-button USB pads won't work on this version, I have no interest whatsoever. Sony had things right by supporting generic USB pads on the PS3, not sure why they changed that for PS4 other than the obvious answer which is to sell more controllers. If so that's pretty anti-consumer.
