Anyone know why Alfred's sign wouldn't be down on the ground right before the BSB fight?

I already killed Vicar Amelia, I missed Alfred at his first spot at the Executioners Altar, but found him on the balcony before the Forbidden Woods and agreed to cooperate with him.

I'm playing online and have plenty of insight. Was able to summon Father G earlier, so not sure why the note on the ground isn't there.

Anyone with some insight? ;o

Wait, there are summoning signs in the game?

Did you kill him? He stopped showing up for me after he died.

It is finished^^ My fourth souls game, but the first I fully finished. I am really thinking about going for the Platinum with only three trophies left to go thanks to the PS+ save trick getting me all three endings^^

Nah, Alfred is still alive. Only variable I think which may be affecting why his symbol isn't there would be

A) I missed him in his first spot the alter because I ran and killed Vicar Amelia first.

B) I ran to the Forbidden Woods after speaking to Alfred on the balcony, so maybe the game thinks I've progressed to far?

Playing in Online mode for NG+, so no idea other than that.

Hey guys, I had to take a break from Bloodbourne for awhile and I think im ready to get back in and finish it, hopefully. How is the community in the early middle/middle areas for summoning people? Im stuck in like 3 areas and need help but cant seem to find anyone when I look.

Also I have a question about being summoned. They dont seem to give you that ability until pretty far into the game. What are the benefits from going back to the earlier areas to be summoned and does it scale like dark souls did with your levels? If it does scale, how was I able to summon people super early in the game? I seriously dont understand the summoning system this time around.

I'm lost. Where is the place where you have to have a password again?
Go to the grand cathedral lamp post, down the stairs into the plaza where those 2 reapers ( that's what they are called I believe) are at. There should be one to the right and he is in front of a pathway. Follow the pathway.

What in the fuck is in that fucking tiny
worm
cave!? God damn fucking
worms
keep killing me in like -0 seconds when I try to enter/engage them. Thank god I was able to get my 48k of blood echos back and unlock the path to the
clinic
... I ended up giving up on the
worm cave
for the time being.

Anyone have a list of an up to date best for loot Chalice Glyphs list? Also can you keep doing the ones that have Blood Rocks in them, or is it a one time item pick up?

Just beat it, one of my favorite games ever...that ending though,
damn that wasn't very satisfying....and what was that? Did I become that slug thing or was that the moon presence?
...Time to hit that lore thread.

You only need 10 insight to be able to see the Insight Shop where you can purchase the Small Resonant Bell and the game gave you Beckoning Bell for free as soon as you have 1 insight; hardly what I call "don't seem to give you that ability until pretty far" considering beating Gascoigne and Cleric Beast alone gave you 6 insights and there's practically Madman's Knowledge lying around easy to find.

Also the enemies don't scale to your level.

Do I want to kill Losekfa? Don't I get an
umbilical
from her/it?

Only after you best Rom. Killing her before Rom will only net you a Rune.

One shotted Abhorrent Beast. I went in to test my new +10 cannon (Only took about 1/8 of his health) and figure out a good strategy. I didn't expect to beat him on my first attempt. I'm trying to upload a video to youtube from the capture gallery but it keeps failing to do so :/ .

Anyways, I thought I was done for until I figured out that rolling into his attacks was a great strategy.

Thanks. I have yet to send anyone to the
clinic
... Does that matter?

Yeah, don't do it, except probably for that beggar guy in Forbidden Woods since by doing this you get to have his rune without the hassle of fighting him. All the other folks? Send them to the Chapel.

Oh, except that one guy in front of Arianna--the whore--in Cathedral Ward. Tell him to go there, since he will actually go opposite of the place you tell him to go to. So telling him to go to Oedon Chapel will result him in getting killed.

I dropped him in the woods the first go. Granted I BARELY managed to end him. Did not expect that fight at all.
Few nights ago, right after it happened, someone on GAF told me he was the final boss's brother
?

Wait what? I've been following various discussions about Bloodborne lore quite extensively and this is the first time I hear that, hahaha.

No, there's no indication about that whatsoever. You do fight a (much) stronger version of him in the Chalice dungeons, but that's it.

Haha, oh well. Thanks for the tips tonight. Whenever I get to pick the game up again, its time for Rom.

Any tips on Darkbeast Paarl?

I get the idea I'm supposed to dodge TOWARDS him when he swipes to get under him but I just can't seem to get the timing down :(

Guess it also doesn't help I'm playing a strength based hunter so using the Kirkhammer is kind of slow and he moves around a lot. Am considering upgrading my Hunter Axe some more since it seems to be easier to hit him when I have a horizontal component to my weapon swings.

unlimited until you kill her. but if it's the spot i'm thinking of, there are 3 bell maidens that spawn spiders in that area

I just tried to see if there was max amount of spiders she can spawn at the time, but if there are 3 of them... jeez. I guess I'll regenerate the dungeon.

Finally beat the game after about 60 hours.

I really love the setting, the music, the enemy design, and the combat. This was my first souls type game and overall I'd say it was a great ride.

If I were going to raise any complaints it would be that I felt a bit fatigued by the end. The balance of difficulty vs. need to grind made the middle a little slow (due to too much grinding) and the end a bit too easy (also due to too much grinding); if that makes sense.

Also, while the distance between lanterns makes the game exciting to explore, they also make it a bit artificially difficult.

Last observation/question; anyone else get Folklore vibes from this game? I know they are very very different games, but something about them is also very similar (can't quite put my finger on it though).

Yeah, use lock on sparingly. Really, lock on camera is such a hassle in *so many* boss fights, this included, that it's personally becoming a joke to me.

The idea is correct though, you need to get under him and slash his legs repeatedly to make him lose electricity and stagger him. If you're using Kirkhammer, just use the sword form instead the hammer. Be ready to roll out whenever you see him preparing the AOE attack.

Even in his "super mode", the idea is still the same, do not be afraid to roll under him and slash the legs. Trying to fight him from the outside is, in my eyes, foolish.

Oh, and wear Henryk clothing set. It will make his various bolt attack barely damages you and they offer good not-1-hit-kill protection from his AOE if you fail to get away in time.

I started a new character after I beat it rather than doing NG+. I had more trouble than I expected from F
ather G
, so I thought I'd try summoning help since I didn't do it the first time around. I got a helper within a minute, and we did horrible things to that boss. It was like a war crime the two of us taking turns smacking him around. It was also awesome, so hurray for yet another thing I've found that I like about this game.

Kirkhammer's not great on Paarl because it doesn't have the speed or range to really take advantage of his openings that well, but if you get one good whallop in, you might be able to parlay it into complete devastation.

Basically, Paarl--and this goes for most of the "beast" bosses, actually--takes locational damage. The interesting thing about Paarl is that every location-specific "damage break" he gets from taking too much damage to that limb/head in a short span of time results in him collapsing, stunned, and you can chain these back to back if you switch off to a different limb once he's stunned and start wrecking that. (This is different from some of the other Beasts, who often are not stunned from having a limb "broken", they just take more damage or lose some of their attacks until it heals.)

If you can manage to squeeze in enough shots on (for example) his right front leg to make him collapse, you can turn on his left front leg and his head, and just sort of go around the bend smashing everything he needs for being a huge jerk-face. You can very easily end up putting him in near-permanent stunlock and just demolishing him this way. The hard part is just getting enough hits in on the same limb using a weapon like the Kirkhammer, since he's pretty quick and his height can easily cause you to whiff attacks even when he's vulnerable due to poor reach.

Ah, I never rolled with that much insight so I had no idea thats what opened up the shop, my bad.

But I meant when finding people to summon, does it only find people within a few levels of yours or can they be any level pretty much?

10 levels plus 10% of the level the person doing the beckoning.

Just a bit fun fact: you can actually see the amount of people wandering around in the surrounding area by seeing the amount of the messengers Whooooooooooooooo-ing when you teleport in a lamp.

Be patient, don't lock on and work each leg separately, this way once you topple him over you can quite literally beat the shit out of him. Pungent Blood cocktails are useful for giving you some breathing room.

Here's my run on him in a chalice dungeon, same strategy applies.
