ZOMG I... reached the first boss!!

Got stomped obviously.

Question, a lot of low level enemies seem to retain a tiny slice of health when I hit them, like you can't even see it, is this a game mechanic that they didn't die or do they just have 1hp left or what?

Witch's Abode is more efficient for farming vials because you will also end up with enough blood echoes to buy 15-20 extra vials on top of the ones you loot.

Runs are also quicker then central. Longest time lost is running back to the lamp, unless you want to suicide farm. Which is of course, perfectly ok.

EDIT:
Becomes less a reality when insight is 99. But at that point, might as well farm chalice for 100k in couple minutes.

Man, this dude is a beast. I can beat his first stage without taking any damage consistently, but when he's down to like 25% he stops sandbagging and none of my attacks stun him anymore. Even the visceral attacks seem harder to land.

Fucking
Nightmare of Mensis
. What an annoying area. Took me forever to get to the
hunter
and died after getting him to a sliver off health. Bahh...

You can find it in the
Forbidden Woods (top of the wooden tower separating the two sections).

Just find it in forbidden woods. In the windmill where you found the guy eating people's bodies.

No, no, that's just a misunderstanding. An awful beast killed those poor people! Thank goodness you showed up in time.

Haha... Thanks! I probably can't even use it because I have only put 1 point into my bloodtinge the entire play through. I'm guessing it needs at the least 12?

i just found the cannon last night... didn't realize it was in a windmill or that there was a dude eating people nearby...

For my people that have Platinum, what was your plan of attack for NG+? Just want to clean up the rest of the trophies and do Chalice. Wouldn't it be better to get as much as possible done on this first run so you don't have to unlock everything again?

Any tips for Headless Bloodletting Beast??

When he's doing his air aoe attack, run up and 1 hit him.

Get close to him (camera pans up). He will do 4 possible things:
1) If you move to close to his hind legs, he will do a foot stomp. Don't do this.
2) He jumps away. Repeat.
3) Jump and body pound. Just dodge back and run up 1 hit. Repeat.
4) Fist hand pounds. Dodge 2X toward right to his side, move toward his thigh, attack 2X and dodge back out. Repeat.

Once the worm comes out, don't be scare and stick to the plan.

Take this with a grain of salt because I think the consensus is not using lock-on. While locked on, wait until the arm sweeps and dodge forward-right and then right, with the camera rotation while locked on this will put you right behind its left leg (the non-stomping one). Try to keep in that position and be mindful of its bodyslam if you are right beneath it. For the second phase it's basically the same, when
the worm head comes out just be careful you don't get hit when it shoots forwards/sideways.

They just have a couple HP left that is difficult to see. Can happen with bosses as well. I thought I had the second boss dead and started celebrating, then he smashed me and hit me with a combo and I died. Don't stop fighting until you know for sure!

I find most of the enemies in this game to be pretty grotesque and terrifying, especially the bosses. However, I think Rom is adorable. I'm normally not a fan of spiders, but Rom's silly looking face and huge abdomen is just kind of cute. His magical rain attack is annoying as hell though.
According to the guide, Rom's a gal. She is pretty cute.

Got play in NG. Sadly, no point for NG+.

Working on this Platinum and looking for help in Defiled Chalice, 3rd Layer,

I don't have a platinum but I made NG+ a super-complete playthrough, I did every NPC quest and got every item. Every enemy is worth so many blood echoes that I went from level 80 to level 150 by the time I unlocked all the areas. It was also a great way to learn all the nuances of every boss.

I'm not going to end the game until I've gotten enough blood chunks to get every weapon I'm interested in to +9.

I'm working my way through the chalice dungeons now.

Yes! Killed the asshole! Was surprisingly easy once I stopped caring about parries. My secret strategy of showing up with 27 potions was also pretty good LOL

I can feel it, I've gotta be almost done now! Crazy shit going on.

Ok thanks, it's caught me out a few times so far.

Phase 1, stay in front, bait the slam attacks, hit the head until you get a visceral. When she rips of her arms, move to the legs, slowly chipping away, beware of the foot stomp, when she jumps, don't move, rinse and repeat

How does one bait the slam attack (this is defiled #3). I get whooped, can't figure out a reliable bait.

also confirmed Miyazaki's fave boss. I'm gonna take credit for that question since I asked it in ENB and 84's request for questions video/ and podcast, hehehehe :p
Good job lol. What about Amygdala, does the guide say? For some reason I usually write "she", but sometimes I write "it" but never "he", and I could very well be wrong. I usually associate spiders and spider-like creatures with females, probably because in the animal kingdom they're generally more powerful, or maybe because it's a feminine noun in French.

Boom! Beat
moon presence
on my first try! Credit roll!

the ending was a cool twist but so short ;_;

Now it's time to go dig around and see all the stuff I missed.

All in all, probably the easiest souls game but super fun. Love, love, loved it. Lots of great surprises.

What a run.

This game confuses me, I just got summoned to a Chalice Dungeon I thought was
Defiled Watchdog
and I was summoned by a guy doing very mediocre damage on the Depth 1 Dungeon.

You just wait until it does it. Stay at safe distance and dodge. Generally, if it's in the center, the ring on the outer edge is safe.

ok, this worked perfectly. thanks! defiled #3 is officially easy.

Circle right. Always, medium distance. Go in for an attack after his big attacks that leave him paused (i used l2 ludwig). Second phase, repeat - easiest time to attack is during his blue fist attack. Third phase, chop at his tail. he jumps forward. chop at his tail. dead.

as long as you take no chances and never get greedy, i don't even know that you'll get hit once. takes a long time though.
