I'm 86, set up a password.

EDIT: This is a mutual thing, cuz I need help killing her, too.

The tell for the charge is that she will raise her left shoulder (your right). The way I found to dodge it was to very quickly (while locked onto her) tap circle twice while pointing the thumbstick straight to the left, so two quick dodges left. If you do it fast enough, she should miss you and then you have time to get one quick hit in on her back. The lasers are easy to dodge...just unlock from her and run laterally from where she is (don't roll or run backwards).

I am at my wits end with (Ebrietas) this piece of shit.

You can cheese this fight if you want, I did it last night.

There's a spot you can hide behind on the right side, behind a fallen pillar, about a third of the way down the room. You just:

-Walk up slowly and score one R2 charge attack with your best weapon
-IMMEDIATELY turn and run to the hiding spot. If you were quick enough, she'll come toward you but just when she is about to see you, she'll turn around and go back\
-If she does spot you, sprint around her and down to the other end, wait for her, then sprint past again and back to the hiding spot
-Either way, once she is back to the spawn again, rinse and repeat.
- Watch out for that shield thingy she has when more than half dead. when you're sneaking up, make sure you stop before hitting it.

Your cover should block all attacks, including the frenzy blood and deadly lightning.

You might want to have your best lightning protection equipped just in case.

There's also another funny trick that nearly works: when you sneak up to her, you can wedge yourself into her ass between the two legs and start hacking away. keep pushing in to stay between the legs and when she turns, she drags you with her so you always stay behind! Problem is when the lightning attacks come out.

Gotta say,
Upper Cathedral Ward
is the first time I've really been like "man, fuck this game". Started off really digging it but the
mind flayer
homies are pretty terrible. Got grabbed, dropped, and then locked and grabbed again without getting a chance to move. Dead.

Same, they chain-grabbed me even though I was spamming dodge. Luckily I broke it after 3rd grab.

On boss 2 in the defiled chalice.

God damn. Getting 1 shot is the worst. And I hear boss 3 is a real bugger as well.

Screw this chalice
Just beat him after having been one shot multiple times when he was below 10-20%. I was behind/next to his left HIND LEG and still got hit. The hit box is dumb on that. Another time his head swipe hit me around the same spot. Thing is, it went to the OTHER SIDE.

I hate the defiled chalice. Being one shot doesn't add challenge. If you have the boss down, you have it down. Adding such a BS element doesn't add anything to it. It's just dumb.

Bah no doubt those guys suck, and the
supercharged werewolves are no fun either, though you can get them caught in the doorways and wall hack them. heh.

Yeah I wasn't having problems with them my first time, but since dying in that area I just get rushed by 3 as soon as I walk over to the room.

It's totally beatable but at the moment I'm just finding it too frustrating to bother with tonight.

Killer atmosphere though.

I have no idea what happened. You had full health and then you were dead. Then this bitch PUSHED me into the last volley of her lasers.

Lets go again. It was kinda laggy. saw her jump around a bit. Got killed by lasers.

I will need to refill BV next time of this round isn't the one.

Beat it! My first Souls game. Pretty proud of myself other than the times I raged at dying. I feel like I missed so much. Credits rolling then jumping back in.

Every night I get to sit down and play this game (2 or 3 times a week at best)... I have such a strong urge to reiterate that this game is SO DAMN GOOD.

I'm currently at the
Ghost(s)
in the Forbidden Woods. Got my ass handed to me once and decided to call it a night. I consider unlocking the shortcut through that wooded snake maze accomplishment enough for one night.

Fuck Jolly Co-operation, baby! Thanks for the assistance, Khor.

EDIT: And a follow up, profanity laden rant for this boss sometime later tonight.

Is there an easy way to kill the enemies with the massive eye heads in the (N
ightmare
areas) that frenzy you?

No worries. It was fun, and thank you too. I think I got the strat down. Helps when she doesn't torch you with lightning though.

How are people Platinum'ing before reaching NG+? I've put in over 100 hours of snail-like exploration this first playthrough, and already I've locked myself out of finding some of the weapons (never killed
Alfred
), etc.

Plus,
aren't there multiple endings, each with their own trophy?

I really want this game to be my first Platinum, but I'm scared to have to re-do these bosses in NG+'s higher difficulty :-p

Yes. Equip heavy weapon. Dash in, running R2. Combo. Profit. Sedative.

Awesome, I'll give it a go next session. I've only managed to take them down using the cannon, but now there's 3 in the area and not enough bullets!

1) Crowfeather set.
2) Deep Sea & Great Deep Sea Runes.
3) Low insight.
4) Watch yourself not getting frenzied ever again.

Damn, I've got around 70 insight! If going HAM with the heavy attack fails I'll give this a go.

Cheers!

Yesss!

My copy of the Bloodborne guide has finally arrived!

Before going to Gherman, exit your game and make a copy of your save file to a USB drive or to your PS+ online storage (if you use PS+ online storage, turn off auto-update for your save files). Start up your game again, do an ending, exit/close the game, reload your save file, do another ending, repeat.

Posted my own finding of that earlier. You can still get hit with the laser lightning (whatever you call that evil shit) though.

Edit: I guess you didn't give her time for lightning, lel...

yeah thankfully the DPS on the blade of Mecy with Hunter bone wrecks major shtuff...since I was so far up her arse it made the proctology work easy! Pretty sure Blood wasnt the only stuff I was covered in at the end of that fight ;)

I found turning the brightness down as low as it can go makes the entire game look much better, especially the Chalice Dungeons. Makes the Hunter's Torch much more useful too.

Ashen set is almost as good as the Crowfeather set if you don't have that.

Is it possible to buy armor from the insight store again if I sell it off? I sold off a couple items early in the game and there doesn't seem to be any way to buy it again :(

I was playing around with the game's "spells" for the first time and...who the hell said the spells in this game are weak? They do good damage even on low arcane, & Beast Roar is great for recovering stamina.

I'm gonna make a skill/arcane build next, executioner's gloves ftw.

Don't think so, though the items are immediately available when you go to NG+.

Why would you sell armor? I even have my duplicate surgical gloves in the storage, do not ever sell armor in this game even if you don't need it, you need all armor sets whether it's for resistance or fashionborne.

I fought Ebrietas in white choir garb and I was gorgeous doing it.

With the exception of the crow mask, the Ashen set actually have better frenzy protection than the crow set.

Doll set is pretty good for selling. :)

Speaking about armor, they really nose dived in that department. I'm wearing the same stuff ever since I got it. Yarnham Hunter Head, Father G Chest, Charred Hunter Gloves, Charred Hunter Pants. Best allround mix and looks pretty dope. Sadly I can't wear some other sets, since the weapon clipping drives me insane.

Hope the next entry will feature some good ol' heavy armor again.
