The range on the threaded cane whip form is stupid ridiculous. Add to that doing something like a jump attack and you can hit things from miles away then back up before they get within striking distance. it's absolutely cheesy.

I hear his energy attack in 2nd phase will 1 shot you.

ah I see. I know it can do a lot of damage but one-shot, wow.
Of course I stay on that dude's tail as he runs so he doesn't get the prep time he might otherwise have in the second encounter. then it's Blade of Mercy time and wail on him until i'm out of stamina or bait the tentacles and get a visceral.

Blade of Mercy charge time is so short it's amazing.

Final stats

Those chalice dungeons were tough. Would I go through them again? Eh, probably not.

Took me almost an entire month, but I finally did it!

I'd be happy to help anyone with other chalice dungeons or story bosses, I kept another save of my character so I'm levels 85 and 125.

Yarnham looks very small compared to the rest of the world. The game could very well take place in the same universe as Demon's Souls (yes I know they've denied)

I'm not sure why people keep assuming Demon's Souls. Outside of the Father Gascoigne "umbasa" joke that was cut out of the final game, there's nothing tying it especially to the Demon's Souls universe.

It's funny how there's snow in
Cainhurst Castle
but clear weather right across the bridge at
Hemwick Lane

Cainhurst is a strange anomaly in the world of Yharnam. The moon there never changes, the horses that bring you there appear long-dead, the stagecoach seems to have no trouble with the bridge being gone, the doors open of their own accord, the ghosts that line the halls are a completely unique phenomenon, etc. I feel like Cainhurst is almost its own little world frozen in time.

That's the one. Slowly catching up on TV shows as the controller sits on the table next to me with rubber bands on the sticks. Jumping the fence is the only tricky part, but getting 4 million echoes in just over an hour is fantastic. After that it's just a case of critical pathing the game to get the weapons and upgrade materials, then begin the PVP.

In my case, I never play the PVP in souls games because of the level grind, but taking that away has me interested in PVP and will provide a bit more enjoyment to an incredible game.

Did it get patched?

The multiplayer in this game is bullshit. My friend and I have been trying to play together without any success. We are seven levels apart, in the same non-random chalice dungeon, with the same password and it's just not working.

Fuck this bullshit. Christ. It's 2015.

So you're using the same glyph? So one of you has, say, one Defiled tombstone, and the other person has 2 (their own, plus the one they created with your glyph)... and he entered the one created with your glyph?

Have both set to worldwide. No password
Stand in approximately same place.
Another gaffer and I have been doing this for the last few nights and it works. Sometimes it is instant, sometimes it takes a couple minutes, but usually fast.

EDIT - note, i'm not defending the mp. it should be way easier/better. But it does seem to work if you do the magic ritual first.

Alright, M
ergo's

down.

Now everything is
on fire back in the Hunter's Dream.

I think I'm at the end of the game and I don't want to best it before I beat all the optional bosses.

I thought I was pretty thorough but I keep seeing a boss named Ebritas mentioned and I haven't encountered her.

Also, I'm sitting at 99 Insight now. Is there any reason to hold onto this stuff?

Explore unseen village for a key you most likely missed.

Asked earlier, didn't get any response...Any tips on
headless beast
in the last chalice? i keep reading to leg chop, but I invariably get stomped to death quickly.

I seem to recall some interview with Miyazaki stating he wanted to tone down the multiplayer elements or something. It feels like there was a desire to make the multiplayer more in-universe and invisible, rather than having summon signs all over the place.

Which sounds fine on paper, but there is a clear usability miscalculation. The system is too vague and wastes a lot of time. Overall, the game really is a big step backwards from the other Souls games in this way. Even the covenants feel half-hearted, as if they were only put in because it was expected, not because they wanted them there.

It's not even really about the insight being wasted (though it is too easy to waste). That part is mainly a problem early on, frustrating new players against the first few bosses. The real problem is not knowing if there's even any activity in the area. With summon signs, you click one and it either connects or it fails. Here, you don't know what's going on while you stand around.

Summon signs had their own issues. I hated running towards them hoping I'd get to one before it disappeared, or needing to stand around waiting for one to appear.

In theory (and i stress, in theory) I really preferred just ringing a bell and going on my way -- for example, while I was trying to help people against BSB I'd just clear old yharnam till i got summoned... that was nice. In DSouls, you couldn't really leave the immediate vicinity w/o your sign disappearing.

I grant they need some way to indicate people are around -- perhaps candles, somewhere that are lit when there are people needing/offering help. Something.

Woot! I went all out Beast Pellets and Bolt Papers for you, at the end I just stayed low since it didn't matter if I died, just wanted to get her low as possible for you.

Congrats :D

oh and I really like your avatar btw <3

She was giving me fits. Thanks for saving a bad nights sleep from taking place tonight. Lol. Love your avy too :)
Take care and thanks so much!

Bloodborne Race: 5 Hunters Killed in 00:11:50

I am legit mind-blowned by this.

Their utter capability to just fuck-off-get-out-of-the-way to Father Gascoigne, the clever tactics they employ against aggroe'd Eileen, holy fuck the creative way to push Djura (I thought you can only shoot him to make him fall from his 1st standing position), etc etc... and all that seemingly done with a Waste of Skin characters (I think?) wearing the original foreign set? O_______________________________________O

Not Waste of Skin. Two of them started with Violent Past (180 starting blood echoes), the third with Cruel Fate (500 starting blood echoes).

So finally beat my first run. Got the true ending.

Bloodborne was not on my radar before launch day. I am truly surprised on how much this game sucked me in, this is not a genre of games I commonly play. Bravo From Software on a great game!

Time for NG+ and the dungeons!

Same, especially since this is my first Souls game.

Although, can't say I'm all that interested in Picking up Dark Souls 2, from what I've seen might just wait for another current gen one, rather than a remake.

Fuck yes, finally beat
Ebrietas
at SL4 :D

SL4...?

Oh, I Youtube'd it through my phone so it's not really clear.

Still, hot damn that was incredibly impressive from all three of them. Makes me want to check out various other neat tricks that players of Bloodborne can conjure for stuff in the game.

Well I finally got the platinum trophy for this game. I've got to say this game alone has justified my PS4 purchase. It's definitely one of the best games I've ever played. I really hope that there will be DLC in the future like there was for the souls games.
