I'm nearly through with Battleground Z. No chance of getting the 70 medal or "all showdown" tickets. On my way to the last # of Zombies killed ticket. That'll probably be my last one. Would like to get one rare zombie before it's all over, but it seems so unclear and truly rare that they show up. Tried on a couple following the hints without success. (._.)
Ultimate Angler is still going strong, though! Any missed tickets from Battleground Z will come from the Birthdays, so that's a good side effect of the VIP option!

I don't completely get it, but obviously more stars is better and skill bonuses are nice. Reminds me of Monster Manor's weapon crafting system, so if you're familiar with that, you should be able to muddle through.
I have a 3-star with bonus pull with 8+ anglers around. There's apparently something later, but I have a hard time seeing how I'd need more than this.
If you're not sure of what the upgradeable areas mean ...
Gauge - How wide your semi-circle is on the bottom screen, so wider = longer reeling in before needing to give it some slack to avoid breaking
Pulling Power - How much you pull in the fish
Durability - Not sure. Don't mess with this one much
Resilience - How fast the Gauge recovers when you let off it

I'm fairly certain durability and resilience control the rate at which your meter increases and the rate at which it recovers, but I'm not sure which is which.

I've found the Mac method with Xzone to be pretty straightforward
completing all the puzzles seems like a great idea until you actually do it

The concept is not complicated, and the setup is just technical. They have really good step by step guides to setting stuff up, though, so it's just a matter of following directions. I'd say the easiest method is setting up a DD-WRT router and letting crontab do the MAC switching for you. That's what I have setup. It switches the MAC every minute, so it fills up my queue in minutes. Makes playing these grind-focused Mii Plaza games much more doable, not to mention the making the puzzle completions possible outside of a Con, which was my reason for setting it up to begin with.
It is a great idea. What's the problem with it? Just that then you have no reason to keep checking for Streetpasses except because you want to?

This is what I have except that I do not use the crontab. I get 18 passes per day and often it's someone I met before so I get a stronger Mii in Find Mii. Sometimes I will manually switch the MacID to force more street passes.
$20 for a used Linksys WRT54G that I got from Craigslist .

The Home Depot's in my area have multiple wifi connections. I can generally hit three different relays from the parking lot.
It will continue to baffle me as to how or why this was ever a location made...

Do you ever unlock the premium ticket islands in the fishing game through normal means? Or do I literally just have to pump thousands of play coins in there to keep going back

I haven't finished all of the main islands so I don't know if the special ones unlock later, but as far as I know it's just play coins or visitors from other regions.
I got a feeding frenzy on a special island with 8 anglers with me. Made like 20,000g from that trip.
Because the deal Nintendo made was with At&t. Who happen to be the providers for Home Depot wireless. It's why we lost all the Starbucks relays. They swapped from AT&T to Google.
Still weird.

Wait, what? Is THAT why I never get relay hits anymore? I had no idea this happened. AT&T still lists Starbucks locations on their wifi hotspot locator (which is what's linked on Nintendo's site). Lame.
So is it just Best Buy (which has NEVER worked for me, for whatever reason), McDonald's, Home Depot and FedEx Office, plus any other random AT&T hotspots?
Northern Ontario here. All the Micky Ds I've been to haven't worked in forever.
Best Buy and Futureshop were my go to. With Futureshop being dead all I have left is Best Buy and the Home Depot that I never have a reason to go to...

So a long day in Vienna has netted my 3DS a total of 0 tags, even in the heavy tourist areas and walking by McDonald's. My wife got 1. smh.
Speaking of McDonald's, the past few weeks I havr tried German McDonald's (and a couple in Austria this weekend) with no luck. I used to get then with no problem. They get shut off? I was hoping to hit one for International Streetpass Week, but nothing...

Came up against the first boss on the mansion tonight, the one on floor 5. He kicked my arse I barely made a dent in his health. He's made of ice so I was using my flame gun against him, but nadda.
Made some pretty good progress on fishing. I got the first legendary monster. Then used a golden ticket to visit an exotic island and caught a fair few fish there thanks to the feeding frenzy. Am I free to revisit that island anytime now, or do I need a golden ticket again?
And on the zombie game, I just beat the first boss in the stadium.
Now that international Streetpass week is over I bet I'll barely make any progress on these games anymore

You'll need tickets every time for the last islands. I really hope they change the 50 play coin cost for gold (which only gives you access to one additional island compared with silver, which costs 10 play coins).

I think 50 tickets is a fair price, but it should be free/discounted to go back once you clear at least one area per island.
Yeah, i know. 50 coins to go to those special islands seems like a lot of shakin'.
It's actually 70 if you want a full team...
