Halo 5 Guardians: #huntthetruth

Hmm... maybe not then. These docs on waypoint all say they were born with that name so it must be 343s retcon or something. Then again Waypoint is ONI propaganda network in canon so who knows...
Is it a retcon? I thought only Kurt got an invented last name so he could work with the Spartan 3s, the others just went by numbers.

Same armour, and they were reintroduced in Escalation...It's them.
Where, not why.

After Kurt sacrificed himself to save the rest of the team on Onyx, they renamed the resulting Forerunner word "Trevelyan" after Kurt's real name, which came from Halsey herself. I believe this was in "Glasslands".

Is no one noticing that Master Chief is under Locke and Locke is under Master Chief? It's just showing the opposition. Having John under John and Locke under Locke would look dumb.

Anywho...Watch the last block be the right arm piece of the giant wobot thing and completely alter the meaning of everything in this picture.

You're right. I really hope 343 will find a good way to bring those who never heard of "blue team" and all the lore that's in the book up to speed.

Tomorrow will be the final waves of the images, with a full HQ image up that afternoon/evening, and if we're really lucky, more details on the game (trailer? whatsinthebox.gif? etc)

Yeah, but I don't know why people were assuming that the last names revealed for other Spartans were invented (like Ambrose) and not real (like Trevelyan). AFAIK Kurt was the only Spartan to be given a fake last name
after he was abducted/disappeared to work for the Spartan 3 project.

Serin was given one and Randall adopted one.

Is the Red Spartan on Locke's squad a woman? Sort of looks like it with the slimmer arms. It would give credence to Mercer on Locke's team.

My guess would be that she's Tanaka, a Spartan who's getting a two issue arc in Escalation that just so happens to have started this month. Funny how that timing worked out hmm?

Holy shit. It's actually happening. I'd say this should be it's own thread, but most of gaf seems pretty hostile to Halo due to the MCC, and I don't think many would give a shit about the story aspects.
Only big Halo lore nerds would care though. Most of GAF would just yawn without knowing about the context, which couldn't really be appreciated without reading The Fall of Reach.

Is there a catalog anywhere of all the original source links for the image pieces? I can only find some of them, most places only have imgur uploads.

I saw one on Reddit that Chief Canuck (well, same handle on there as here so I'm assuming it's the same person) was handling. He might be able to link you to it

Oh wow, I haven't been completely paying attention to this but are the surviving Spartans from the books really appearing in the game?? Megaton.

Speaking of which was there ever a book that followed up from the events in Ghosts of Onyx?

idk considering most people that shared them with the internet just used imgur instead or direct links.

Kinda. Glasslands finishes the story off by
explaining what's going on in the shield world and how they got out.
But it's more of a glorified cameo than anything.

Yeah, it's called Glasslands and it sucks
