Halo 5 Guardians: #huntthetruth

Lmao I've only just clicked that the 'not-war sphinx' is now shown on the planet. So it did the devastation.

Not so sure. So far it's done a lot of standing in place and blowing sand. It's possible that everyone else did the destruction to try to get to it first, Juls faction vs Arbiters, plus ONI and blue team, etc.

The gold suit? Did it say anywhere what the cultural significance was? The silver suit of the Arbiters, it makes sense to cast away with the Prophets gone, but where did the gold come from, was it an old Sangheili design or something?

IIRC, it's a traditional Clanleader's armor, though I can't for the life of me remember where I read that. It's old, it's important, it's his. Sort of the same way a king is expected to wear the traps of royalty.

I see. Was it in Escalation maybe? That was the first appearance of it before the H2A prologue/epilogue.

And if it's olden Sangheili designed...Does it even have energy shields, if it was pre-covenant?

John's hair has been depicted as predominantly brown, auburn if you really want to make a stretch.

He could have neapolitan "mutt" hair that's a medley of browns, blondes and reds but that seems to conflict with his "perfect genes" according to his ONI conscriptors.

Now just get my boy in there and we got ourselves a stew going.

Their real last names? Because I remember they were given fake last names by the military and only Halsey knew their real ones. I remember her correcting someone about in Kilo-5 when they decided on the name for Onyx.

My understanding was their real ones, since Canon Fodder/the Universe section updated with them in it.

The Arbiter's armor is pretty old, and it had shields, so I don't see why not.

And yeah, no idea on the source. Could be tales from my butt. Just makes sense, though, it's clearly ornamented, and seems to call back to some of the same designs as the Arbiter's suit, so it'd be pre-Covenant.

That was also the lore reason for why Arbiter was literally the one dude who didn't get continuous active camo.

Perfect genes != racial purity. In fact mixed race children have better immune systems iirc. So the impure colour of his hair would have nothing to do with "perfect genes" in relation to intelligence and strength etc.

Right, but that was still post Covenant formation, with the San Shyuum tech. Could the Sangheili have cobbled that together on their own pre-contact? I'm not so sure. They did have some technology without the prophets, but from Broken Circle it was much more primitive than what the prophets had.

Here's where you're remembering it from.

I didn't get the impression from Broken Circle that the Sangheili were that far behind, generally speaking; the Dreadnaught seems to have been the major advantage the San Shyuum had. I could see them having personal shields, albeit much rarer ones.

Hmm, I guess that's possible. They were never used with the Ussan Sangheili though at least, so they would have to be exceptionally rare. And even the clan leaders who fought the San Shyuum didn't bring mention of them.

Even humanity only got energy shields by reverse engineering Covenant tech. I would assume that humanity pre-contact was at least more advanced than Sangheilios pre-contact. Though then again, each culture had its advantages and disadvantages, such as Forerunners being so much more advanced than current humanity in most things, but human AIs impressing even the Didact.

Yeah I don't know about perfect genes even. The idea was to find people who would be more likely to survive the augmentation and indoctrination process. Not necessarily perfect or pure or whatever. There were a variety of kids they found, not necessarily the best overall - like people who would be smarter or faster or stronger, not necessarily all of the above. The point was to bring together the most effective team - and since it was uncharted research territory Halsey guessed a lot. Like throwing darts. Chief wasn't particularly impressive in most respects compared to the other Spartans, compared to his peers sure (King of the Hill scene comes to mind) but he was a natural leader and was incredibly "lucky". Also there was a tendency to pick from the pool that was available at the time, since not all of the colonies even did genetic cataloguing. I think Halsey once mentioned most of the "insurrectionist" states had more information catalogued than the general UNSC controlled ones.

I was confused by this too and had to double check. found this. so I guess that's that. https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/universe/characters/frederic-104

Yeah I think that would be the outward facing name that he was given as part of making them seem more humanized to the public. Kurt-051 went by Kurt Ambrose (from Ackerson I think), but his actual name was Kurt Trevelyan, and as far as I know only Halsey knew their real names and kept them a secret.

Hmm... maybe not then. These docs on waypoint all say they were born with that name so it must be 343s retcon or something. Then again Waypoint is ONI propaganda network in canon so who knows...

My body is not ready.

Alright guys, moment of truth: do I read the K-5 trilogy or is it a waste of time?

I read and loved Fall of Reach, First Strike, Ghosts of Onyx, Cryptum. Read and liked Silentium & Primordium. Disliked Contact Harvest.

I do wish they hadn't gone with the massively overused blue/orange color scheme for the poster, but I suppose they kind of had to all things considered haha. Ah well. Still crazy badass.

Why is Blue Team on the side of Locke?

Is no one noticing that Master Chief is under Locke and Locke is under Master Chief? It's just showing the opposition. Having John under John and Locke under Locke would look dumb.

Anywho...Watch the last block be the right arm piece of the giant wobot thing and completely alter the meaning of everything in this picture.

So where are people thinking Blue Team is in that shot? Locke & Co look like they're on Sanghelios, but the city in the middle has a very different look to the architecture, and the background behind Blue Team looks like someplace else entirely.

When i zoom in .. I think to myself.. this is live action. Or hope the CG cinematics are going to be mind blowing awesome. I dont think theyll do in-game this time around?

EDIT: I'd also like to point out the weapons.. lol

2 AR 1 SMG 1 BR .. VS 1 Snipe 1 DMR 1 AR 1 Pistol. Blue Team baby!!

EDIT2 : IS there something in the middle of the thing in the back's neck? Like a person floating there? IDK IM TRIPPIN MAN!

After this is finished will we get one with no watermark that ruins it?

I'm pretty sure they'll officially release the real thing. I hope so anyways, because many shapes had to be manipulated and definitely not reflective of their original quality. Also lots of ugly jagged edges.

I see it too especially on blue team, but I doubt we'd get another live action trailer so who knows
