Witcher 3 gameplay from YouTubers from CDPR event

damn, Witcher 2 still looks better than anything on ps4 IMO.

Maxed out with a lot of downsampling and EatChildren's foliage mod there's not much that can compete with The Witcher 2 to my eyes. It's funny because I hadn't played The Witcher 2 in quite a while and I remembered it looked really good, but I was amazed at how good it still looks to this day. I was wandering around Flotsam thinking "damn, I don't think any game I've played lately has looked this good". Such a perfect blending of technical and artistic design.

Edit: Well, there are definitely other games that compete, but The Witcher 2 is still up there among the best that I've seen.

Beyond the gushing previews or even my own impressions of the graphics based on the videos, a big part of why I'm confident The Witcher 3 will have outstanding visuals is simply down to how impressed I am with what they accomplished in The Witcher 2.

Is there a thread or anything of maxed out W2 screens?

It's starting to sink in that in less than 3 weeks, I'll have my hands on the game that I've been craving more than any other since 2013. The wait is going go by so damn slow.

I'm just so glad GTA 5 came out at the time it did because this is when the wait becomes extremely slow. I don't even think about it anymore. Having way too much fun in GTA.

Yea the delays might have been annoying (For both series), but GTA V dropped with absolute perfect timing and has been a fantastic distraction for the last couple weeks.

Now I've just got to replay W1 & W2, and I'm totally set. Both of those will pass the time fantastically as well, and there's a solid 80-100 hours of game there to enjoy over the next 2-3 weeks.

That's lucky for you. I don't have a PC so I've been enjoying GTA since the PS3 one came out (and then re enjoyed it for the PS4 version). I'm at this point kinda sick of it (not that it's a bad game, but I have at least put 200 hours in it, wouldn't be surprised if it is more like 400 hours). I will say even though I'm sick of it it still is amazing the immersion that world has and detail. I'm sure after a long break I can enjoy it all over again :) (but that will be a while cause Witcher 3 should last me a while and then a bunch of games, all ones I expect will be ones I can spend a lot of time on, should be coming out. Mad Max, No Man's Sky, fingers crossed for Fallout 4.. and I'm not even mentioning Persona 5. And that Just Cause 3 game looks interesting too).

So, that's not going to tide me over at this point :(. I really cannot wait for Witcher 3. I'd really like a new game to play (and nothing has come out that has me wanting to spend 60 bux between GTA V for PS4 and Witcher 3 :( ).

Heh, you're in a similar boat as me. It bloooows. XD

Pretty excited for this game! Wanna give a shout out to my boy bigTnaples for selling me his extra nvidia copy for a very fair price.

Yeah, that is one of the images, then there is the unicorn scene and the nvidia video:

Yep, I approve the new Yennefer.

I still think Flotsam's surrounding forest area is one of the better looking areas of any game still out now. The tech isn't crazy, it's just great art and superb atmosphere.

I am really feeling the hype building for 3 with each day. I just want to get into that world and start wandering around and exploring so badly. So close.

Indeed.
Flotsam forest is just magical. Totally atmospheric lush forest with minimum lighting due to the huge trees. Damn.

God hair works is going to be fantastic. Really hope I can run it. Even if I have to dip down from 4K to 1440p, it may be worth it if it's as widely spread and nice looking as I am thinking.

It's nice that they got it implemented on not just creatures but also Characters (Or at least the main characters), Armour (Fur Shawls) etc.
I was honestly only expecting it for Horses/Griffin's etc, but to hear it's going to be extended even further, that's brilliant.

I know Gopher said it tanked the FPS, "Hard", when he switched it on. However everyone has a different representation for that, some people consider even a 10FPS drop, major, others it has to be going from 60 down to 40 or 30 to be a "huge" drop. So we'll have to wait and see, but hopefully CDPR will have done as good an optimization job as they can.

I'll play at 1080p/30FPS on my single 970 If neccessary. I'll wilingly sacrifice frames for that good hair, just like i did with TressFX.

Game looks like its coming along fine, really excited to be playing this in less than a month. The fact that the press are starting to get their first hands on the near finished product bodes well absolutely

Check out the 2015 console screenshot thread.

Unless there's a drastic difference between them, I'll be getting the PS4 version. Just the amount of time that will be involved, this is definitely a comfy-couch game for me. And I'm not sure my PC could run it any better, to be honest.

how many of you are getting the PC version of Witcher 3 compared to Consoles

Pc version for me, and I'm the biggest xbox/wii fanman. It's single player, no online. No reason for me to even think about playing at 30fps. If it were 60fps/720p on the xbox, I would probably buy it on that for achievements.

Already own the PC version on GOG. I don't own a current gen console since outside of exclusives 90% of which don't interest me it's always the inferior choice for me.

Pretty much this, even though my PC will buckle under the weight of this game.

What's it running on Xbox and ps4? I'm reading different things.

The game looks gorgeous, but still after 3 years of PC footage, and in one hour, 19 days away from the game's release....we still haven't seen any direct feed console gameplay footage. That in itself is an enormous red flag. Everyday that goes by only strengthens my concerns. We've been hearing "it's coming this month, this day, this week", for months now, and still here we are, waiting.

Ok, I'm done with my little rant.

Wasn't the delay because of issues with the console version? I'm going to wait until reviews hit or news about the console versions being stable are out.

Granted it does seem a bit troubling, but I'm sitting here playing the second game on the 360 and it's amazing what they did with a console version. It gives me little doubts for 3.

Damn I might just have to buy a ps4 for this game. It still makes me so mad that MS fucked up so bad this gen.

Don't be that guy.

I own both a PS4 and an X1...I'm buying Witcher 3 on the X1 cause of the Eco system and preference of the controller. Honestly, the resolution is so minimal that 99% of people won't be able to tell the difference.

It's all marketing in the end. Go with what system you prefer.

guys...could this be the greatest WRPG of all time..or is that too much of a stretch..

i never even played the first 2, and while im still iffy on the combat..im so hyped for it
