Space marine is an awesome game, and it's only 14.99 on steam for the game and all the dlc!

If you liked ground pound in h5, you will love the jump pack sections!!

Meh, in terms of the OT, whenever a new one starts it basically becomes the Festivus' Airing of Grievances. It'll normalize now.

well if we're referring other "black eye thread, that was going to be a cesspool no matter what. even though all the grievances are justifiable, they're seldom level headed when online.

honestly, this thread is surprising. most gaming side threads are a bit more pointed than community side ones.

Not far enough, IMO. They should kill the Halo IP entirely to atone for the MCC; burn the Halo Bible on top of the space needle, sabotage the copyright system so nobody can ever use it again, kill anyone who'd ever enjoyed the game to eliminate the fan projects, and then destroy the Microsoft campus from orbit.

Then, and only then, will it be made right.

Yeah, I was running out of battery juice on my phone real quick, it was late at night and I had a little rant before collecting my thoughts. I concidered keeping it and adding a new paragraph, but I figured it wouldn't spawn any good conversation anyway.

It's not really Halo hate though, (I claimed Halo is mimicking CoD more and more), I absolutely love the series. It's actually me being worried it'll gradually turn into something else, something I have no interest in.

But my wording wasn't on point, so I changed it to focus on the matter at hand and why I disapprove of Ludacris as a voice-actor. If he can actually act as someone other than himself, to the point where I only see the character as it's own person, then go right ahead. But I can't help but doubt it based on his previous history in games and other media.

Most of the posters on this site are massive fans, I don't see that as reason enough to hire an actor. :-/
 
I've been binge reading up on "expanded universe" stuff, seems like one big exercise in describing new things, and then explaining how they were completely destroyed with no hope of recovery (Composer in Halo 4! Destroyed in Halo 4! But wait, there's a whole bunch of Composers!, All destroyed in a comic!) I get why the Domain had to be destroyed, but it would have been cool to see Humanity make contact with that.

I would also not shed a single tear if the Flood was never heard from again, never found them enjoyable to fight.

They're pretty important plot-wise though. If you've read enough of the lore, I still don't think that second judgement of the Precursors has happened yet, I think potentially either the flood that escaped have a buttload of biomass now, or the Precursors in their true forms will make a cameo at some point.

I agree that their gameplay could be better though. If I kill you, stay dead!

I could see the Flood returning in a new form, honestly. We've only seen 343i's version of the Flood in Halo 4 mp mode and they look pretty different compared to what we're used to. The Flood was only one "form" of the Precursors, so a second judgement and a new Flood-cousin could be coming. In my opinion Halo 5's third act would be the place to do that and I bet it will happen. The game's gonna be heavy on the particle effects, and with what we saw of the Hunter-worms in Nightfall, the mental pictures I have of 343i's take on the Flood are terrifying and glorious. Can't wait.

Not existing until the plot demands they become relevant again I suppose.

And ewww at wanting The Flood back, they poisoned the original trilogy and were an ugly, unejoyable enemy to battle again with the worst levels in every game dedicated to them, no thanks.

Give us new, fun enemies!

This may have been true if not for:
A: The flood rarely came at you from more then one direction.

B: When they did come from more than one direction they were extremely easy to run past and get them to all just run at at you from the front allowing you to easily mow them down.

I wish there were more variety of those though. Different type of crawlers. I liked popping their head with BR and Pistol lol
