Between the fight and the game 7 loss by the spurs the level of salt in the world right now. This reminds me of a time in school when I first moved to AZ. A kid in language arts class always thought he was righteous and talked down to me. Anything good I did was meant with salt or I got lucky according to him so I got focused. Being from NYC I'm not best ball player but I baited him into a 1 on 1 and humiliated the bastard 11-4. Didn't even shake his hand or give him props. Straight told him he was trash to his face. He apologized a week later and never fucked with me again.

I mean, in the end it's the equivalent of the super bowl ending 3-0. A ton of people that don't normally watch the sport but tuned in for its biggest event are going to be upset that they wasted the effort to pay attention, and the regular fans are going to try to tell them that this isn't the outcome of every game/match but it's not gong to matter. Damage (boredom) was done.

The superbowl equivalent would be no one throwing a pass and running 4 yards per down.

There didnt have to be knockdowns to make this exciting. Its the lack of general action. Clinching isnt fun to watch, and Floyd was pulling out the mass hugs tonight

In UFC do people actually fight then? I keep seeing people mention that.

This point shit is dumb I wanna see knockouts, I like fighting not aggressive tactical hugging

UFC is pretty much dead too.

With Jon Jones gone, all you got is Rhousey and the womens division is filled with fighters who are terrible at fighting.

Mens Lightweight division is fire.

I'd love to but I feel like MMA is so pricey to get into with $60 PPV every 4-6 weeks and $10/month for the fight pass. I wouldn't mind a PPV every once in a while like this, but not on the regular like UFC.

Just watch the free stuff and only order the PPV's that actually make it to fight night without a ton of injuries.

In the inbetween enjoy Boxing's return to Network TV + standard cable channels. While there isn't a ton of hype and heat on either sport, it's actually a decent time to be a combat sports fan.

Floyd and Manny made bank, but the promoters backed the wrong fight if they wanted new fans.

Truth be told, the fight wasn't bad for the first six rounds. I had 3-3, Manny landed some good shots in 4 and won 6.

But let's be real, this was only the fight of the century or whatever if Manny won by KO. It's sad that some people, some valuable people, let themselves be deluded into thinking Mayweather wasn't going to just bank rounds and win on points.

The ''L'' of the night doesn't go Manny Pacquiao, but ESPN's residential hater Michelle Beadle.

She got personally banned from the event by Floyd's management (<-- allegedly, jury's still out on that being true or staged)

Spurs eliminated from the playoffs

The person she hated the most won the fight tonight

Beadle and ESPN right now....

I feel like grappling and locks leading to tap outs etc are getting a bit too common in some of the bigger UFC fights these days, but that's an entirely different discussion.

I don't think we'll get really entertaining boxing again till we have multiple great heavy weights back in the game.

There are multiple KOs on every single UFC card.

Little gloves man plus stuff like head kicks and elbows allowed. That leads to a lot of finishes.

I feel silly for not realizing how much pressure there was on Manny. Mayweather's performance was non-factor in determining how this fight was going to be perceived. It was all on Manny's shoulders.

I think it's safe to say never bet on a Filipino for big fights. Their god doesn't seem to like them as much as their opponents god.

This thread is the equivalent of a forum dedicated to football talking about how boring a league of legends match was.

"That was boring!"
"Where were the headshots!"
"This game will never get fans!"

Damn, what the fuck am I doing watching boxing.

Boxing can be great and we still get good fights sometimes. This is just Floyds style. He is a master of defense which can lead to pretty boring fights honestly but he keeps winning with it so I can't really blame him for sticking to it.

lol caught highlights. Jesus Christ boxing is boring. Glad I made other planes and skipped the two fight parties I was invited to. This fight was so overhyped, nothing seemed worthwhile about this. Reminded me of WWE or something with how it panned out so predictably.

I'm Filipino and my family hates me. They're all sad and dejected while I'm the only one happy. Was saying Money would win for years and they all thought I was nuts. Was rooting for Pac but the writing was on the wall.

Well I got my free comic books today and I was proven right after being laughed at for years. I ain't even mad haha.
