So only 5 maps with only one online mode at launch? Am I understanding this correctly? What in the fuck?
New maps every few weeks and Ranked will open up fast though. It's not the end of the world

So what do you thing about the post-launch updates:
a) Some parts of the game aren't finished, but Nintendo needs a big title in May?
b) Nintendo is afraid of the kids again and that they getting steamrolled online?
c) It's a strategy to keep people in the game by constantly having updates and things to look foreword to? This also creates a bigger connection between players and the game, which allows them to sell DLC more successful later.
Every time they've shown the game, the demo has had a little single player stage that tells you the controls and lets you pop balloons to get used to them.
So did the direct already started?
Not for Europe.First test is on Friday
First test is at 4am to 5am on Saturday? madness.
Just an hour window is quite.. strict. I forsee not being able to connect for that whole time.

It is disappointing though. Game doesn't seem finished otherwise. I can already tell that combined with the lack of voice chat is going to kill my interest in the game rather quick.
I see. Honestly, the choice isn't that hard. Pick the console with the exclusives you want the most. There are few games on the PS4 that I'd like to play, but Splatoon, Mario Kart 8, Donkey Kong are essential to me.I have the exact same system that gets compared to a PS4
I3 4130+ 8GB ram+ 750ti
It could run it but not exclusives like Tomorrow Children, and such.

I already can't even download the demo. I got into the store and now the whole thing seems to be buckling just from this little bit of action they got going on. This will not go well.
Thanks! They needed to push a game out for the summer is what I think.
Pretty much Pad.
I'm the only one after the direct with the feeling that this game isn't done? And they're trying to hide it with all the "Free DLC" thing?
The game looks promesing, and the single player legit. But idk if the fact that Nintendo doesn't have many more this year and the previous delay for other games it's pushing the time that has to come out...

Nintendo would do this... online only demo. Well I will wait for the game.
Smash 4 was a pretty damn complete game.yes for sure, much like smash bros. for wii u

It seems that way, but it is not different from say, Smash Wii U. It was released "unfinished" and certain features and characters (Mewtwo so far, Lucas in June) were added later (and I think some weren't added yet, like tournament mode?). I am fine with the game being released with a couple multiplayer modes + single player in May, with more stuff being released later for free. I would hate to have to wait until August to play Splatoon.I'm the only one after the direct with the feeling that this game isn't done? And they're trying to hide it with all the "Free DLC" thing?

Please patch in the ability to let us choose teams.

I see it, what you're doing. I see it.
Dude gave Nintendo a break man. They have almost zero third party support, they can't keep a game in dev for a long time to make it feature rich.
We are getting a free Aug update. That is pretty soon after the realease. Just chill and play the game when it is released.

This...greatly disappoints me. I don't hate the Gamepad or anything, but I would've preferred the Pro for this, easily.

I'd wait until at least E3 if I were you. They might not announce anything on a new system, but I'd expect we won't be seeing much on Wii U front and that seems like a sign to me.
No Delfino Plaza? What is wrong with you?Splatoon stages from other games.
Peach's Castle
Hyrule Field
Luigi's Mansion
Do it, Nintendo. Do it.
So we should give Nintendo a free pass for releasing content-light games at full price? Nah.
I'm still probably going to get the game, but it's weird having a direct actually deplete hype. I didn't know there were going to be so many missing features at launch.
