The Witcher 3 PS4 gameplay

Sorry to break up the graphics discussion, but I wanted to check, do you all know if I will be able to get the OST post-launch? I don't know when I'll be able to get the game due to time (need to spend time this summer on other stuff), but I'd love to get the OST.

The minor pop in hiccups could be because this is pre launched versions of the game. I recall reading somewhere there will be a release day patch. Just sayin.

The OST comes with the game if you pre-ordered or have bought the steam version you'll get it digitally.

Because I've bought it twice I'll have a spare copy of the OST if you'd like you could take mine.

I don't think its a preorder bonus, its just packed into every box or comes with any Steam/GoG purchase.

By the way guys I'm working on he OT and its comming along like a dream so far. I think people are going to love it.

I'd love to surpass the mgs4 OT as best OT ever but I'm not going to go overboard for the sake of going overboard.

What id like to ask here what people would like to see included in the OP. I'm going for mostly useful stuff not stuff for the sake of making it bigger and bbt their.

So here's what I've got so far:

- introduction entry pic with primary info
- Specs, recommended, controls, who to buy from etc
- collectors edition and its inclusion
- DLC details
- The world of the witcher, what are witchers and who is Geralt
-Small back story of the history of the games so far
- Spoiler covered short synopsis of the books and the main pieces of information you need to know about them
- Then onto the witcher 3, shot plot synopsis
- UI customization
- Game map
- Character summaries (people who haven't played the game want to know about the main characters and who they are right?) now sure if I should include this
- achievements (do people want this stuff?)
- what's new in witcher 3
- screenshots
- trailers
- avatars
- enjoy the game image

If anyone wants to be involved or help out with some of the grunt work like making avatars and stuff then gimmi a PM and u can show what I've got so far.

You're right it does come with every copy. How awesome! I've been listening to it while I work on the OT (will that and the w2 soundtrack and it's a great way to get in the perfect mood for the work).

You may already be aware, but there's an OT OT where someone else is associated with making the W3 OT http://m.neogaf.com/showpost.php?p=138984361&postcount=2685

As for the list, screenshots, trailers, and UI customization are the essentials for this game tbh

The GOG goodies are pre-order bonuses on Steam:

That pretty much covers everything I could think of. I would probably only sure to only include screenshots and trailers from recent stuff. Otherwise it may attract a certain type of shit posts.

Ah, so it is.

What about PSN? I guess even so though I want to listen to this at work so is there any news on a way to purchase it otherwise, such as Itunes or something?

That sounds amazing. Maybe a couple of links to videos that help flesh out the world? Gamermd83 recently put up a video on YouTube detailing the short story 'A Question of Price' in the Last Wish, which details some interesting events in the book: https://youtu.be/pWUqtvYfgkQ I really enjoyed it.

And for anyone trying to fully immerse themselves in the Witcher lore for the first time before the game comes out, like myself, it could come in handy.

I'm ready for my new home, CR.

Thanks for being sure to point this out. Snuggles and I had a chat and he was happy to hand the main responsibility to me because he's been flushed for time. So I'm taking the reigns for the time being. I've done a bucket of work so far and it's looking good in my opinion. Going to be my best OT yet :)

The font to use is ALWAYS the hardest choice to make. If I only had the font that CDPR used for their new logo id be laughing but I believe it's custom and I'm not sure I can be bothered creating an entire font.

Color me beyond excited!

Aiming to put the thread up on the 16th. Don't want to many pages of blah before the game arrives.

Makes sense. While I like having a place to feed my hype, I also hate scrolling through pages of "Yes!" in order to get to the meat of a discussion. I managed to snag a day off work, which is a rare thing for me at this age haha. Cannot wait to dive into this game.

Man all this footage is looking hot. Just hope it's not smoke & mirrors. You can see glitches like pop-in and weird stuff with the occasional shadow though so it seems legit.

Indeed. The telltale "console" effects are there with those pop-ins and shadows. Honestly though I think the game still looks great. The downgrade thread is a nightmare to read (at least to me it feels like people are calling for the end of the world), but this is looking just like I hoped it would be, on a PS4 at least. One thing I feel they nailed (again, from what I can tell by seeing videos and not playing it) is the ambience. The world looks alive, with the wind and nature all around. I think that attention to detail more than makes up for the less graphical fidelity we see, in my opinion.

That video is indeed how it looks on PS4. The guy who put it up was streaming it yesterday. The Xbox One version looks great as well.

I just watched a couple minutes of the PS4 footage posted in page 34/35... anyone notice the massive LoD fade-in at 2:52? Check it out: https://youtu.be/OILIERc-pWo?t=2m52s

Gif for reference.... watch the medallion and railing then the shadows fade-in shortly after (in the room behind Geralt)
Hope this doesn't happen on the PC version (or maybe if you throw and SSD in the PS4).

Holy cow, 2 objects and some interior lighting that IS massive!

/sarcasm

Witcher 3 threads are starting to remind me of Dark Souls 2 threads near it's release, guess I'll have to just spend the next 10 days away from them. Game looks great on all platforms, can't wait!

Yeah this reminds of GTA V when it first came out and some of the cut scenes (especially the opening one with the titles) had really bad pop-in. Other games as well have suffered from similar effects during cut scenes but then while playing looked great. I have no idea if this is the same but it feels like it.

Yeah, the DS2 threads were unreadable and while the Witcher 3 ones are a bit better I also think I'll abstain until the game is released.

I wouldn't worry too much. This looks like a bug that could be fixed with the day one patch.

I could imagine that being an issue on consoles, but I highly doubt it would be on PC. Hopefully it's something that will be fixed though.

I did not even notice the pop-in until I watched it again because it happens so fast. The game still looks amazing.

I don't see the problem with it being a cutscene. I've seen this happen in other games too when there's quick changes in camera angles and assets don't load in time.

The video with the horse at the beginning, this is what I thought a future Zelda game would look like, 10 years ago imagining a game in 2015. Wish a Zelda game looked like this. :(

Game looks awesome.

that's half-a-second. seriously. "massive" is such an overstatement.

The only negative I can come up with right now for the Witcher Wild Hunt is that I won't be finished with it before Arkham Knight releases. I'm a one story game at a time type of person, so Batman will have to wait for Geralt.

I am the same. Fortunately my wife was out of town this weekend so I made some real nice progress on Dark Souls 2: Scholar. Should be able to wrap it up just in time for Witcher 3.
