Seperate 2D game for 3DS and Wiiu believe.

Stretch goal needed for Vita version.
The only issue I can see with getting versions for 3DS/Wii U/Vita is the game isn't due out until 2017. I would assume Vita would be pretty much dead by then and whatever is replacing the 3DS and Wii U will be out by then.

How am I derailing? People mention Vita, and I mention it as a commercial failure which would make a Vita port unjustified. I mean damn, you can Crossplay on Vita with a PS4 anyway, at this point who isn't getting a PS4?

Besides that's money they could better use adding more features and polish to the versions that have the best chance of selling, and that's PS4/XBO/PC. Just the fact it's UE4 tells you they'd have to spend a lot of money to port it to UE3 so Vita can even run the game. At that point there's no telling if the install base would justify the costs.

It's a simple game of basic economics. Even a Wii U version would be better justified. I'm not saying the Vita sucks or anything; just being a realist.

Later on if they want to do Vita or Wii U with their own money, let them. But for now they should narrow the initial platforms to the big sellers and go all out on making a quality game.

It's true that Vita and Wii U are commercially failed platforms. For most projects they're not really viable platforms for development. That's what makes them perfect platforms for stretch goals.

Crowdfunded projects aren't usually viable in the AAA blockbuster sense either. They're on services like Kickstarter so that the pressure of raising funds lays on the community. With that in mind, what's the issue in letting the community fund Vita and Wii U ports? You mention additional features and polish, but aren't they doing that right now? Just look at the original stretch goals. Those are all game features. Bloodstained's initial budget would've been around $5 million. Now it's only growing. That affords them the opportunity to look at things they otherwise wouldn't.

Should lower spec platforms get a stretch goal, you'll likely see the port farmed out to another company that will do a complete demake ala Mighty No. 9. I wouldn't worry about those platforms holding back the game's ambition or straining internal development resources.

The rate at which this is growing is insane.

Can't believe it cleared a mill in a day.
I know, it's nuts. I was already setting myself up for disappointment when I first backed it, so happy to have been wrong. Can't even begin to image how Iga feels right now, and on the flip side, Konami.

I know I have a copy of Harmony of Dissonance that I never got around to playing that I feel like jumping into now, but it got boxed up when I moved and I'm racking my brain to remember which box it ended up in.

Probably to make the character stand out on a small handheld screen. Note that it's most prominent on Soma and Shanoa.

The real question is what's up with the glowing shadow trail that follows Alucard as he struts around the castle?

I was only referring to Soma And Shanoa, but yeah probably due to portable visibility. It just doesn't mesh well unfortunately.

And Alucard is stylish as fuck, that's why.

I wonder what possessed them put to those outlines on those sprites. Never liked that.

For visibility I assume, remember that Symphony of the Night was enjoyed on a large TV screen while the DS games were on the tiny DS screen :P

On the plus side, if it's going to be using 3D models, then maybe they'll have alternate costumes available.

having an all day stream with IGA and having social media achievements has helped an awful lot.

Would love to know what publisher is backing it.

Also putting stuff in the game only $60 backers can get does not sit right with me. A lot of things with this KS dont sit right with me.

Make it a low budget spinoff then. Like" not "mega man zero on 3DS,that came out fast enough.

It's no different them making console exclusive items at retail for a traditional $60 game.
I get that KS is for funding projects but that doesn't mean you shouldn't have to pay the retail price in the long run.
Many Board games you pay MORE for the same content to get the project funded.

Can't the kickstarter, but if the end game ends up looking like the pics released so far, they have themselves a sale on PS4

I know I have a copy of Harmony of Dissonance that I never got around to playing that I feel like jumping into now, but it got boxed up when I moved and I'm racking my brain to remember which box it ended up in.

Harmony of Dissonance is really fun when you figure out how to use the book switch/toggle to pull spells and sub weapon attacks out on reaction without having to pause to switch. It feels like the way the game is meant to be played (up and l or r to toggle spell, down and l+r to open and close) Not the best CV game, but it's pretty fun in that way.

CotM is much better on Thief mode I feel, because you have a high enough drop rate to have tons of items and cards, but your stats are lowered enough that your equipment matters and you'll be switching gear during fights. Both of those games are underrated, but if you play them a certain way they become very fun.

Welp, I'm in at $100. This and Yooka-Laylee (in for the $47 tier) are my first two kickstarter investments! I'm really excited about it, though I wish I could've contributed to some other games a while back. Finally got to where I could do it without too much risk.

No way they don't clear the next stretch goal before I wake-up (hell maybe even before I hit the sack)

A) I will say as someone who has played a ton of Castlevanias on portables, it will suck if there's no portable version of this game. I get why it might not happen but it would suck. (Though I never got a clear answer if UE4 just straight up can't work on Wii U or its just hard. Different people have been saying different things.)

B) Speaking on the Co-Op stretch goal, was the initial Co-Op play mentioned in the video online only and the stretch goal is for like local Co-Op?

This is priceless. Shame her hand covers most of the text.

People who are complaining that it's $28 on Kickstarter. You do realize that it's probably going to be more expensive upon release, right? $40 or so.

Kickstarters usually get the cheaper price-point.
