The Witcher 3 PS4 gameplay

I'm loving this screenshots, but shame that they are not bigger

How many difficult settings are there? I played normal in Witcher 2 but I've heard Witcher 3 is easier, so I might turn the difficulty up a notch.

I know there's at least 3:

(normal)
Blood and Broken Bones (hard)
Death March (very hard)

There's trophies/achievements related to the difficulty levels too.

PS4 needs better quality on their screen grabs and streaming/recording stuff.
I've been pestering them on twitter about it for a while. Hopefully with the Xbox One having much higher quality captures it gets them going on it.

Anyone know what AA solution it's using? In these screenshots, not seeing many jaggies at all?
Been curious about this as well. I assume it's a custom post process solution but it seems to work quite well.

I wonder if their hands a tied due to the marketing deal, thats why the Playstation footage was all done by Sony itself.

Yeah in the screenies and videos, places where you would expect it to break down - small distant objects, fences, windmills, ropes, poles etc. - they all seem to be relatively clean compared to what has come out so far. If we could get this as a minimum standard AA for all open world console games going forward, you couldn't complain.

One of my PSN friends is playing already! This is the earliest I've seen someone playing a game before release on there.

This is very good to hear. Hopefully the frame rate will be rock solid with the day one patch
I think the review build is different from the retail build. Haven't heard nearly as many reports of frame rate issues from people with the game and there have only been a few minor hitches in the videos they've put out. Hopefully with the patch it should be pretty solid for us.

Several of the recent games with issues have been patched with no change in performance.

Exactly, thanks to some kind of walkthrough for developers on how to properly add it on ps4.. hence I was a bit surprised to see the same issue in a newly developed game.

I know too AF had to be forced externally in The Witcher 2 on PC, and you would think they would sort out these problems in the new engine, especially for platforms that can't arbitrarily apply effects since they're not PCs, but still here we are.. let's hope for a patch.

Or maybe it's a bad capture and the texture was milliseconds away from loading, time will tell.

Are streams suddenly allowed now? They seem to be surviving fine on PS4.

Weird, they must have loosened up now that the review embargo is up. Theres definitely still a video embargo, Jeff mentioned they couldn't do a quick look until next week.

Ah, you're the one I saw playing online earlier.

How do you like it so far?

Yeah fantastic really. Slow progress still (my play style) but I like it. My first game in the series but the story is great and Geralt character, combat, missions and the highlight is how gorgeous the game :)

Pre patch but honestly the game runs ok for me, I'm not sensitive to framerate but ofcource that can be different for others.

Cool. Sounds good. Getting this pretty mich just for the exploration and monster hunting so all that is what I want to hear.

Someone at Twitch must've been asleep. Both streams I was watching got axed within the past hour.

If this is what we're getting on the Playstation 4 Sony Computer Entertainment System less than 2 years after launch, what will end of the gen be like??

Some of the pics and gifs i've seen in here are just ridiculous

Been watching Ps4 stream earlier..

Ha, the one I saw the player was just walking in circles in a poorly lit (and pretty bland) cavern, mostly with Witcher Vision on, periodically blowing himself up by igniting cave gas w igni.

But I don't take that as emblematic of the real experience.

Well this is what we are getting from devs who are not lazy and care about their game.

This is also the team's first open world game and simultaneous multiplatform release. If some of the more egregious performance issues reviewers mentioned are ironed out, it'll be damn impressive.

Really hoping that this is accurate, I saw a lot of stutter I hope will not make it to the final game.

EDIT: While it's great that they claim it will be patched, after thinking about this for a minute, it sucks that the review copies sent out are not indicative of the final game.

Review copies never are. It's just not possible. They need to be ready probably up to a month in advance of release meaning the developers have a lot more time to modify the game for the day 1 patch. It's just the nature of the business. It would be ridiculous not to improve the game with the additional time regardless of how the review copy will fare.

LOL

I was to busy drooling over the quality of the stream.
Usually they've been really poor quality but the one i was watching.. oh my..Cannot wait.

The Player seem impatient though, as he/she was flicking through the dialog. smh.
But as he/she left the grounds of the area they ran into a pack of wolves and cleaned 'em up first go.
But i had to go down town so i "had" to stop.. :(
*wipes tears*

Any streams going on atm?

Some of these reviews I believe are waiting for the day one patch to give their final verdict. While the grand majority apparently don't believe it's SUCH a negative it would drop it a point. But it really makes you think if the reviews would be higher if they had a copy that ran smoother.
