woo woo

Also, as per Steve Amell implying
that his show becomes "The Green Arrow" next year
, and Legends of Tomorrow allowing us a shared continuity filled with even more aliens and time travelers [Hawkgirl and Rip Hunter], makes me feel like the entire DCTVU is about to change dramatically.

And then in a few years we'll have the DCCU as well. What a time to be alive.

So... I have to go with a theory everyone here has, with a twist...

I do thing Flashpoint is incoming, but I also think it allows us to see a world where Superman exists.

As per the Supergirl "trailer",
we now have to somehow accept that Superman has been a factor on the world stage for years... and yet Oliver and Barry have not only never said a thing, BUT their respective shows have had them be their world's first contemporary vigilantes, and meta-humans.

Jesus Christ.

I like the idea of this universe being Arrow/Flash/Supergirl as the main heroes. While alternate universes seeing... other heroes being the mains, I like how different this one seems.

I don't know, I just feel like the show-runners have poured tons of love, and genuine fandom into these shows. They've gone out of their way to include nods toward the 1993 Flash, and given b and c list comic characters valid appearances, etc...

For such a labor of love, I cannot see them being ok with us just suddenly having to accept that EVERYONE in the world failed to mention Superman for the last three years, while also making a big deal about Barry being "early" and the first meta-human the world has seen.

And even if we ignore the, "but are we SURE Supergirl is in continuity...".... we KNOW LoT is, and it has aliens and the like suddenly showing up.

In a recent interview, Guggenheim asked if someone dies during the Arrow/Flash finales says,
"There will be only one death. It definitely sticks".

Um... I think
the "death" is of that timeline/universe.

If they actually did use the Flash as an excuse to reboot the continuity of multiple shows that would be both the ballsiest and maybe one of the worst moves ever. Like, you know how everyone is realizing they can do shared universes now and most of them sound like crap? Imagine when everyone figures out they can just reboot their TV shows without missing a beat

It's probably a really bad idea...but I kinda hope they'll try.

Checking in!

LOVED THIS EP, holy shit. Snart was fucking hilarious, loool. Hope he's like that on the spin-off show too.

I also love the Flash vs RF scenes, so damn cool and comic-booky.

So, should I watch tonight's Arrow finale tomorrow (I live in the UK :() or wait till next Wednesday? I read somewhere that Flash's finale takes place before Arrow's finale or something.

I want to see it just for the sheer ambition/audacity of it.

I remember being mindblown when Angel and Buffy could sync the episode airings to allow cross-continuity, and such. I remember being impressed by the ambition it took.

Likewise, the first time a few genre shows pulled of time-skips that worked, or really massive tonal shifts, like Battlestar Galactica, or Fringe, I felt the same.

It has been a while since a genre show's balls impressed me. I almost want it to happen for the medium, and am a big believer in "shoot for the sun, and if you ONLY hit the moon.... you made it to the freaking moon!" I'd rather see ambition execute half-way, then bland safety.

At this point if Iris and Barry end up together I'll be incredibly disappointed. And honestly, given how on the nose they've been about it I'll be surprised if they do.

What if that's part of Thawne's evil plan? Change history so Barry doesn't end up with the woman he loves haha

Wells needs Eddie to hook up with Linda.

That's the only way they can give birth to the swaggerific line of Eobard Thawne.
