I'm more referring to The Flash from the comics, and Barry (potentially) wearing it in the show going forward. Wells seems to take it off when he doesn't need it, and now that he's been outed he doesn't bother to hide it.

It doesn't really matter for the Flash in the comics. Flash merchandise is common in Central City because of how popular he is. And he's fast enough to switch the ring with a decoy if someone did notice.
And for like 20 years of Wally's tenure the public knew who he was anyway.

I really liked the parrel they set in this week's Flash and Arrow's episodes. On Flash Barry is a kind hearted hero, so when he made the deal with Cold it backfired completely and he lost.
Meanwhile on Arrow Oliver, a much darker hero,

I'm not sure I'd call it desperation. They were probably talking about saving his mom, and losing the relationship they developed over the last 14 years. It's not much of a choice.

lose a son in Barry. Given their relationship has been one of the strongest elements of the show, it's quite devastating. The possibility never crossed my mind until this promo.

Because it's easier to remember and spell. Also we were introduced to him as Wells, he was Wells for a whole while and the actual Wells is not exactly taking a claim right now.

Well, according to
Thawne, the particle accelerator is built in 2020 by Wells(I think, not exactly sure, all I know is that it's built in 2020) so if Barry goes back in time and changes that past Wells could re-appear as a true good-guy

Interesting. Everyone (except, presumably Rip) is from the "present" or contemporary times. However, wouldn't it be interesting if their way of bringing Caity Lotz back isn't to pluck Sarah Lance out of the past or an alternate dimension... but instead out of the future, one generation later?

In the comics, the White Canary was briefly feared to be Sin, Black Canary's adopted daughter accelerated aged (which was a thing at the time between Wally's kids, Clark's kid, and more). If Caity Lotz is playing a descendant of Laurel Lance, it could support the family resemblance.
I'm betting on post time travel. In this new timeline, Ronnie doesn't become Firestorm, instead Caitlin becomes Killer Frost.

that everyone is coming to grips with the idea that Barry is going to change the past (and present), and they wanted to get married as a symbolic gesture in case they never meet again. Do they get together without Thawne accelerating the development of the ... Accelerator?

Yeah, now that you mention it, this is probably how it will go down. I'm still positive that my theory of what happens with Ronnie and Caitlin post time travel will happen though.

Rewatched Rogue Air. So the speech at the beginning, I'm guessing that implies that perhaps the Flash did something that caused Thawne to loose everything he loved and that's why he hates him.

I really hope this works. I'm ready for this, but it might be a bridge too far for some. The CW has something magical going with three concurrent shows sharing the same assets, talent, contracts, sets, etc. which must be an economic coup for them... but we need the end product to be good.
Any show you have is going to need to pay for extras, per diem actors, etc. and here, with the show overlap, people who commit to one show know they're going to get that money from the other two... so the actors get more work, more money, and the fans get to see routine cross-overs and familiar faces.
I really hope it works...
