Damn this downgrade just gets worse and worse.
I remember when games ended up looking better than when they were first shown. That was a nice time.

This thread is really going in circles. It weren't even two pages and you forgot to mention that this is a screenshot from a twitch stream.
I wasn't using the stream to compare. I was using the comparison video (in which HBAO was apparently on) to compare. Sorry again, but there's barely a difference.
Maybe because one is an official high res screenshot and the other is a 1366x768 screengrab from a twitch stream...

Not really, the 2014 picture is sharpened immensely from a downsampled screenshot while the PC ultra picture you posted was from a twitch stream and hence very blurry.
If anything the difference is in the terrain as there's less rock but it makes sense for that particular terrain to not have bulging rocks that could hurt people who use it everyday.

Honestly that is pretty fucking disgusting.
i guess the picture of what exactly that vetted insider was speaking about last year is pretty clear now. CDPR and their marketing department completely lied about the visuals of this game. Literally up until the point you actually boot up the game the first time.

despite the colors and the shadows and the distance, and assuming that are both maxed out the big difference is the wood pillar that is far more reliable in the first one

Someone in the twitch stream asked if the footage is with the day one patch, the moderator literally replied with "yes, it has the patch". I then posted here saying that the stream mod said the footage had the day one patch. Apparently I'm going out of my way to misinform others? The only ridiculous thing here is your assumption.
