M. Bison trailer for Street Fighter V

As I've said earlier, this pretty much means no Super updates unless they pack all of the DLC in a Complete Edition later down the road.

eh we'll see, Capcom are way too greedy on the "version rerelease" scheme I don't see them dropping it for SF5

Badass.

So good, i stopped the video at the same frame too :P

There are people saying this is the same game as SF4? Don't expose your casual side so soon.

Bison looks great. They really changed him up bringing the Psycho Ball back. And that OTG?

Lord.

This looks too good to be true. Please don't be butt in this game. Please please please.

Edit: SFxT at least had a great footies game.

I like SF4. I think it's amazing, but judging how good a game is based on whether or not it's played in tournaments is the wrong attitude.

So while I cede that SF4 is a solid game, the converse that other games not as popular, not as played in the competitive circuits, are not good is false.

What I meant to say is that a game played for 7 years blablah implies it's good, not equal. So yes since it's an implication and not equal the reverse is not necessarily true (a game is bad if not played competively). For example I think Skullgirls is a much better designed game than any marvel.

SFxT isn't that bad of a game. It was close to being something special but bad design choices fucking killed that game. But it did champion really good footies which, is why I can never truly hate the game.

And SFxT rollback netcode >>>>>> SF4

And getting back to SF5, I can honesly say I'm a little concerned with all these teleports going around. I know, only 2 characters but still, lets not turn this shit into marvel.

I am not typically fond of SFxT but that time out issue was patched. Granted you still get more time outs in that game than most but, it isn't not common as it was at launch.

I'll be honest, I stopped following the game after EVO 2013. I was appalled at how many match-ups ended with people running away until a timeout.

Maybe its worth checking out again, but that EVO rubbed me the wrong way... completely.

They will probably do "Updates" that cost $15 each year like Ultra that add characters and some modes. Costumes will probably still be separate they aren't giving those away.

Put it this way, Capcom isn't exactly made of money to where they can put out another disc release every single time now. Hell, not even the PS4 port of USF4 is getting a disc release. Not to mention that, while a disc release was easier for tournament organizers to just pop into their systems & set up, caused sales to drop each time by a big margin along with a major loss of sales potential for the original version (for reference, MvC3 sold 2 million while UMvC3 sold 1.5 million).

At most, expect DLC upgrades along the lines of Ultra Street Fighter 4 for $15. But the source who hasn't been wrong so far has suggested Killer Instinct-esque updates.

If they didn't do Super versions, I'd hope it would be the amount of content needed for a Super, but just released whenever it's finished with season pass options.

You know, it's not bad or lazy for Capcom to stick to traditional character designs. It's just a design decision. It's neat that other developers like to keep it fresh but it's not some perfect standard that all fighting games should follow. Both have their benefits.

Also, white hair Bison is pretty awesome.

Nah I don't think it's worth going back to honestly. If you didn't like it then, I don't think you would like it much better now. Maybe with the new characters? I don't know.
Thank you

I don't take credit, I got linked it from someone who found it another site, lol.

as someone said i'm guessing they'll sell you every piece of content now instead of packaging them in a new "version", maybe you're right they might drop the "super" shenanigan I don't know... I don't know what to expect from Capcom anymore

I'm seriously thinking they will have a decent amount of characters at launch (sub 20 like rumors are saying) and then have a model like Killer Instinct has. I don't think that would actually be a bad idea. Then again, if Capcom is planning to charge 60 bones for this then I am not sure about that kind of selling strategy.

Bison still has a relatively slow teleport compared to marvel characters. Nash uses them for setups, but after learning where he's gonna land it'll be easy to shut him down unless they use it as an extender instead.

Why does this game look exactly like the last one? Or maybe I am misremembering...

Because you played Street Fighter IV for like 10 minutes once and and have no real interest in this unfinished game of which we've seen maybe 30 minutes of footage apart from immediately complaining about it.

Maybe not if it's a fad (maybe MKX will be such a case) then I agree with you that popularity != good. But when a fighting game is played competitively for 7 years and the majors/EVO are still so good and hype, with a diverse character pool each time, I think this warrant that the game is pretty good.
And I wasn't saying anything to the contrary.

Simply pointing out that there are tons of good fun games that have shit tournament numbers. Or no tournament presence (in America anyways) at all.

So many drive bys, every thread.

Anyway, I hope Capcom has learned from SFxT. That game's main problems were low damage long combos, and the stages were too big making it easy to time out. I didn't think it was a bad game, in fact I enjoyed the 2013 update quite a bit. But I just hope that they learned.

Im glad they haven't gone away from his Nazi inspired uniform and this longer coat makes him look higher ranked. The DLC costumes should provide with enough crazy designs.

You summed up the initial SFV reveal pretty well.

Try using screens from the newer footage. You're pulling from the early alpha.

You act like the current build's is the same as SF4, which it doesn't.

Oh you are talking about the SF4 screens. That didn't look much different, and no those aren't SF4, Alpha build screens.
