M. Bison trailer for Street Fighter V

So yeah Bison looks sick. His gray hair is definitely hinting at some kind of time jump. And he seems to certainly play differently than his SFIV counterpart. But what I want to know is he still a charge character?

God...the animations are fucking amazing slowed up. Bison's face during all his moves...good shit.

But pls, gaf...more walk speed talk. I honestly think we could be getting the beta late this year (I'm no insider! Pure guess!) and I don't want "change the walk speed" to be the big thing we tell capcom. I'd rather the big thing would be "buff dhalsim. we love dhalsim. buff dhalsim"

I LOVE the updated design of Bison (Dictator)! His new move set looks awesome and even has some throw backs to the SFEX series.

Man, my hype meter for SFV is through the roof and climbing! If they put Dudley in there with an updated design, I'll cry giant man tears of joy!!!

Oh shit its tuesday!

Older Sakura next pls.

Yes! With Casual outfit + her gym teacher uniform! Yes YESS!!!!

Also Older Karin, and Older R.Mika plz

They are obviously making it so that it fits the universe with grey hair bison which gives me hope for older other characters

They are revisions, and even then you are wrong with those numbers as there is only 3 different versions of SF4 as most of those updates were for Super SF4.

Like who? I haven't meet anyone that said "Ultra SF4 is SF6" in my life. They know it's an updated SF4, even the people who don't play fighting games.

Missing the point. Revision or not, continual releases cuts into the novelty of the franchise and accelerates its age. That's the root of this discussion. Do you really believe that SF5 would carry the same amount of anticipation, had they just left SF4 alone at vanilla? SF4 backed capcom into a corner, to the point where people are asking for bottom barrel characters like R. Mika for the sake of newness.

It's more likely it'll be something along the lines of "can we delete Dhalsim?"

Man, it's insanely easy to hype you guys up.

Imagine that: a fighter getting an entirely retooled moveset hyping up fighting game fans in a fighting game.

Yeah, couldn't be because people liked R. Mika.

"When a new character pops up I'm sure we're going to get that. Especially since it's rumored to only be 16 characters, there will be wasted slot talk too"

So what you're saying is that there's going to be complaints regardless of whether something is old (this character design) or new.

Haha, yeah i don't think people who keep on farting on about the looks of this game and the characters will really stack up to the players that are enthusiastic about how this game's mechanics work and how it plays. A real tournament showcase on a new stage with different characters is where this fighting game should shine. The less skillful but also the more skillful would equally like a better story mode though, not much detail about that right now unless they made recent statements about this stuff that i missed.

Oh look everyone, we have a Capcom employee over here!

It's pretty obvious.

"Under the hood" SFxT and SFIV are nothing alike. They are far, far more mechanically
different than, say, MK9 and MKX.

SF5 looks different, it's paced different. It's characters all either have different moves or very different combos. Focus is out, this "state" thing is in and it looks very mix-up orientated in it's design. I really, really don't know what you want to be different here.

Of course they are, they use the same game engine, and I'm not referring to the renderer. This isn't in dispute.

SFIV and SFxT aren't the same game, of course, but they shared the same game engine. It was just tweaked and modified for SFxT.

Same deal here with SFV.

Except by virtue of SFV using Unreal Engine it's not using the same engine as SF4. Unreal Engine is more than just a graphics renderer. You need to understand this.

You keep doubling down. You and Brazil are the best at shitposting but the worst at actually talking about the game.

Yeah, but why isn't it 2D? And where's the anime style without those ink strokes? Couldn't they have used a different new engine?

Has Bison absorbed Rose to get the reflect and projectile back? Good guy Bipson?

How is it shitposting? Because you disagree? I've been reasonable presenting my argument. Put me on ignore if you can't handle that.

The code behind. The actual game engine, not the rendering.

Everyone knew Bison was coming with the last trailer 2 months ago.

Capcom did similar smaller reveals up to e3 with marvel vs capcom 3

E3 should be a reveal of new characters or ones used in a while like Twelve (fingers crossed)

But nonetheless:

Loving the new design for Bison! Gray hair and a longer coat, not to mention some of the new moves he got. I'm looking forward to trying him out! And hopefully he and Charlie are fully showcased at E3, and I too will gues that a brand, new character will be revealed due to the lack of a tease.

Also pushing for C. Viper's return. Please.

Maybe they are saving him because he will be significantly different from Ryu this time?

Ono did go on record to say that each character in this game would be more unique than ever. So, I doubt we'll be seeing an army of shotos without major revisions.

If Capcom had not supported SF4 with continuous annual updates, we wouldn't be where we are with 2000 entrant tourneys, Capcom Pro Tours, etc. We wouldn't be at a point where even intermediate players are actually REALLY GOOD at this game, making tourneys a lot more exciting. SF4, SSF4, and AE all sold more than a million copies each. USF4 so far has sold more than half a million (and that's just the full version, not the digital upgrade). The demand and interest are all still there BECAUSE of the continued support.

They like R.Mika after the 44 characters already in Ultra, yes

You know we have actual polls that can tell us who people like, right? No need to make stuff up.

Here's a hint: Mika is higher than T. Hawk.

This may be true in the same way that the Vampire games, Alpha games and Versus games share the same underlying framework. It basically doesn't mean anything.

I just recently noticed that the dev team added cloth animations characters. It's extremely apparent with Bison in this trailer. I think cloth animations were an awesome touch the really took the beauty of SF3 over the top.

This whole V-trigger system is still a mystery. It looks like every character has unique V-trigger properties. It'll be interesting to have a fighting game where one of the central mechanics functions radically different for each character.

"They use the same game engine"

"Actually, this uses UE4, and that's different from what you were describing before. You are factually wrong"

"I have been reasonable in both my backpeddling and my misinformation."

Okay dude.

No you do what tekken does and just make the old one an alt.
When one of your characters is about to be in Smash (Ryu), it kinda solidifies how iconic their design is. Even with Sonic, the design change he got in Boom was simply a spin-off & Sega promised not to ditch Modern Sonic (as seen in Smash 4).

SfIV and SfxT are way different though. Reversals, combo systtem, health recovery, shared life pool, the gen system and tag system made them way different.

It's a difference that was about as bold as SF2 to Alpha or SF3. It's a 2D fighter, but the differences between SFIV and SFV seem about as big as the changes from Guilt Gear X2 series to Guilty Gear Xrd.

I walked past a colleague's screen at work today. Noticed they were working on a presentation for SFV launch marketing. I was pleasantly surprised, didn't know we have Capcom as a client.
