M. Bison trailer for Street Fighter V

The details on their costumes have changed but their designs have remained constant. They've always looked like ninjas in almost every iteration sans a couple Sub Zero ones.

Just look at how Netherrealm didn't have the guts to make the Revenant forms of characters their default looks.

I'll give you that one. Thats sort of weird, to the degree in which they have good guy dialogue.
 
Maybe if they gave Bison a new hat people would be happy

Showing how new character functions is "blowing their load"? I don't agree with that.

I do, since things are not set in stone yet. They're obviously still tweaking and changing. A few of Ryu's normals have changed from reveal to reveal. That's not to mention how all of the mechanics work together, how ultras work, all that good stuff.

No point showing us things that might still change with internal testing.
 
But it's definitely a different graphics engine. Compare these models with the SF4 models & you'll see that there's much more of a difference than you claim.

This is a difficult topic to discuss. Yes, there is obviously a different renderer. Different lighting. Updated models and animation. New moves and mechanics.

But under the hood, the foundation of the game is SFIV/SFxT.

Do you understand how game engines work? Unreal Engine is more than just a "graphics engine."

Yes.

The use of UE doesn't mean they can't use their existing game code. Do you think it's more reasonable that they re-created a fighting game here (whether it's because of UE as you suggest is the case or otherwise) or that they brought over their SFIV code and modified that? This is considering that they aren't exactly given the budget to have all options on the table.
 
SSB also has only released four games in like 20 years. Street fighter released 5 games in the last 6 years

They are revisions, and even then you are wrong with those numbers as there is only 3 different versions of SF4 as most of those updates were for Super SF4.

Showing all the moves and mechanics in a staged video and not let people that play the games figure some of that stuff out is "blowing their load.". Not to mention the game is still in active development and stuff is subject to change.

Like who? I haven't meet anyone that said "Ultra SF4 is SF6" in my life. They know it's an updated SF4, even the people who don't play fighting games.
 
Looks also a lot grittier than SFIV. You know instead of all this bullshit, could we focus on the new stuff we've seen here? You'd think there is enough to talk about, but yeah...
 
SSB has basically no alt costumes, Mario has been rocking his outfit for 30 years. And that doesn't prevent the games from selling great :P Here's the thing - Ryu and Chun Li are emblematic, Ermac is not.

Why not have original designs for both DLC and default?

It's so hilarious how lazy Japan has become with fighting games while western made sequels like Killer Instinct and Mortal Kombat actually go out and make brand new character designs for their sequels.

Eh, Capcom never changed their outfits, aside from some details and the rare exception (Alpha Chunli). This is nothing new. Soul Calibur has had new designs for every character (aside from Dampierre) in every game. Tekken is more mixed. Some characters as as static as Street Fighter's, while others get redesigns, but there are a few redesigns in Tekken 7 already.

"Under the hood" SFxT and SFIV are nothing alike. They are far, far more mechanically
different than, say, MK9 and MKX.

SF5 looks different, it's paced different. It's characters all either have different moves or very different combos. Focus is out, this "state" thing is in and it looks very mix-up orientated in it's design. I really, really don't know what you want to be different here.

True :P I just see stuff like the Koopalings, Alph and the gender swaps as alternative characters, and not really new designs for old characters. It's more like Miharu being Xiaoyu's alt costume in Tekken 4.

Reminder that a lot of people hate that Wario's default costume is his biker one (even if his classic one is an option lol)

Bison has WHITE HAIR and has all sorts of new moves. OTG stomps? Did I mention the WHITE HAIR? They're basically confirming some sort of time skip, which makes me excited to see how the younger characters be.

And, STILL no Ken confirm, which is extremely intriguing because...IT'S KEN.

How the HECK does this "look like SF4" with no Ken? I see a LOT to be excited about here.

The movement looks so stiff and unlike previous games, I hope it's just a visual thing.

Also I can't get over patchwork Charlie, what a stupid design decision.

Yeah walk speed looks a little slow, and honestly I don't really want projectiles at all, just make sure I have a psycho crusher for crossup/mixups pls Capcom.
 
Woke up on a Tuesday to this. It's gonna be a good day.
This damn game will probably consume me like the early SF4 days.
 
We care about gameplay details, not whether a characters is wearing red underwear or going commando
This guy gets it. This trailer gave us hints at a lot of interesting tools for Bison players. I'm not too big on charge characters myself, but even I'm curious now given his OTG stomps, his Rose-esque projectile reflects/counters, & his faster teleports.
