It's not an insult. The act of the assumption is the insult.

Edit: I mean it's only natural to infer what gender someone is based on whatever information you have available, but it's still unnecessary and can be based on unhealthy stereotypes.

Honestly, I actually think seeing a girl as an avatar makes me thing the user is a dude more than seeing a guy as an avatar.

Basically i've used the avatar as a form of entrapment, I've had people avatar quote me to try to make my points moot, but when its this avatar it means for those who quote it " You know the source of my avatar, you're not a saint either"

I never even considered using avatar to determine gender. How does that even work (Minus selfies or whatever)?

What does my avatar say about my gender? Ignore the username.

People constantly quote my avatar at me with no text if I dare say anything positive about a PC game, or anything negative about a console game.

It is frustrating because I've owned at LEAST one console every generation going back to the Atari 5200, and at least one handheld going back to the Game Gear. And I get the impression that a lot of these posters have never really tried PC gaming and they are actually the ones who are biased and are coming from a place of ignorance.

I thought about changing it, but fuck the haters.

Unless your avatar is a result of an avatar bet *ahem*, it's pretty hard to assume anything. But yes OP, I do at least reflect on the avatar sometimes.
 
Assuming you have no idea what Kids WB was or is.,,,My avatar is the animated TV character "Freakazoid", a show from the Steven Spielberg produced animated TV era about a nerd who transformed into the Freakazoid.

Interestingly enough, the show was created by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm who went on to write/create the best animated Batman property ever, Batman: The Animated Series.

There aren't many, if at all, it's against the TOS and I'm pretty sure you lose your avatar privileges if you use any adult related images.,

Well we do have some lewd stuff, and that's usually Cream's stuff. but again picture would be fine, the rest of the image probably not.
