Ultra Street Fighter 4 hits PS4 on May 26th, $24.99: PS3 Stick Support Confirmed!

One of the reasons I want to buy this is to show Gio Corsi that his team is doing the right thing for gamers. I want Microsoft have a similar division after seeing the success of Sony's initiative.

I dont know what else they have to say about it really.

Its a port of USF4. They fixed the frame latency the PS3 version had for PS4.

And all the silence around the subject has me thinking it probably isnt going to have PS3 stick compatibility. At the very most it wont have it Day 1 and it will be patched in later.

Whys that?
Well we haven't heard anything about the game and it's supposed to come out in 5 days, we haven't even heard any inpressions or seen any gameplay. There are 3 possibilities:
- Sony releases it on the 26th but its a bad port (the most likely scenario IMO)
- It gets delayed.
- Its a great port and everything works as it should.

I'm just concerned about the quality of the port, the fact that there is literally nothing to find on the Internet other than its announcement, that it contains all the DLC, the release date and the platform isn't giving me confidence.

I wish this game had a real tutorial/training mode for someone who like literally never played a fighting game before. I cant figure this shit out.

Who expects me to memorize move list menus like im taking a quiz in school or something.

Thats why i like smash, dude... just hit it.

Wish they could make street fighter more accessible.

There are plenty of introduction guides online, but with that being said, in a world with stuff like KI, SG, Xrd, having tutorials that teaches the players its mechanics, SF5 NEEDS to have this kind of feature.

I think the fact that the game has been out and released on so many different platforms makes this a bit of an afterthought for Capcom. They are just sort of releasing it into the wild. I am not worried.

I'm only worried that if Capcom wants the PS4 to become the tournament standard for the game, they need to get out in front and give it their stamp of approval. Just kinda sweeping it under the rug makes me apprehensive to switch from running local tournaments on PS3.

I hope you're right, I guess I'll have to give them the benefit of the doubt.

If it's the new tournament standard and they aren't mentioning ps3 stick compatibility, then I would def be disappointed.

Does Capcom have anything to do with this port other than owning the game?
Pretty good question but RE:HD, Revelations, Strider & DMC definitive aren't the best example for "adding graphical post processed effects because PS4 can" anyways.

Thank God Ninja Theory noticed the lack of AF and patched DMC at least.

How. Dare. You.

To answer you though: I know other characters... Guile is the most fun for me (Chun Li is my secondary). But when they made the character I enjoy using the most terrible, it worsened the entire game. For me.

Breh I main Guy. Guy.

....

Guy.

At least he is better now.

The tournament standard is a fair concern. Also, stick compatibility. That is something they should address before release.

I just get the impression that the game isn't a big one on their radar at this point and they aren't really focused on giving it a big roll out coverage wise.

why isn't this up for pre order?

It's not up for pre-order because PS4 only really promotes new big AAA games for pre-load and pre-order. I'm sure it will have a big splash image when it arrives on the store but it's just not a new big game to promote on the store's main pages.

Everyone needs to stop worrying about it, the PS4 is a monster of a machine. I'm sure the port will be excellent and the definitive version of the game.

Uh.. Magicka is up for preorder. Thats not the reason why SF is missing.

Project Cars wasn't up for Pre-order in NA. The devs mentioned that you apparently have to give something like 8 weeks notice of your intention to preload/presell. They may have missed that window.

That's for NA. I am not sure whether or not Europe has the same restriction since Project Cars was up for preorder there.

I saw dmc4 up for preorder on psn

That's one tiny example of an exception. Most of the games promoted are big games. I just don't see why people jump to the conclusion that the game is gonna be bad because it's not up for pre=load. It's just gonna magically appear in the store on Tuesday and I'm fine with that.

Not knowing if the game supports PS3 sticks is definitely a reasonable concern. Luckily for me my stick is modded for PS4 so I guess I'm a bit insensitive to the issue.

I seriously hope the EVO staff has a bunch of 360's backup(or better yet PC's) in the very likely scenario this port is trash.

The game had a good port on the damn 3DS, switching engines to MT Mobile.

I have no doubts that this game will be fine. Sticks are a worry for some, but that's not really relevant to the quality of the port.

I've convinced myself they're saving a "by the way PS3 sticks will work" announcement for during Stunfest and I'm going to be so disappointed oh god why do I do this to myself.

You are right about that. Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition was excellent. Only got it last year right before diving into AE and Ultra on PS3.

It's nice to have the option to turn off the 3D and get 60fps. I thought the sort of isometric perspective was also a nice touch, and again, optional.

Will wait for impressions before I buy it. It's not like I'm in a rush to get it since I have yet to get a fightstick for my PS4. I just want to see some actual footage :/

I really really hope this is a good port, but the complete lack of communication on Capcom's part just makes me really nervous

If this is a sloppy port then EVO is gonna be a shitshow this year.

It is sort of concerning that the game is being released in a few days and we haven't really seen any footage of it. I understand it's a seven year old game but, as someone who has been playing it since 2008, pouring thousands of hours and dollars into it, I'd like to see how it's running on the PS4. Hopefully the net code is good and the visuals are on par with the PC version.

Maybe its because SFV is coming soon and this is probably the 10th re-release of the SFIV anyway so Capcom/Sony doesn't seem to think it will sell enough for it to be worth it.

At this point maybe they are saving it as a Plus release. Would be great to pull new people into the game.
