From a magazine leak, the date's been revealed, for Japan that is.

Requires iPhone 5 or up iOS devices/Android devices released after 2012.

The game'll feature battery consumption and graphical settings, as well as a left handed mode.

The story will be split in chapters, with new ones planned to be released periodically after launch. The game will also feature limited time events as usual in mobile games.

Pre-registration is open on the official website: http://www.jp.square-enix.com/MOBIUSFF/
This'll give players Tidus' Brotherhood (FFX) for use in-game.

While I'm happy to have a date, it's weird that SE has kept silent on this for a western release, maybe it's cancelled? Same with FFVII G-Bike.

Nic! I hope it's still coming to the west. VII G Bike and that FF Legends game too.

G Bike keeps crashing on my Xperia Z1.

I wonder if all the chapters will cost less than £35.

It's free to play.

Battery consumption settings will be most welcome for the on the go grind.

G-BIKE mega bombed in Japan, so I imagine that's the hold-up.
What happened to Agito? I remember that it also had a quite lackluster performance in Japan and we haven't heard anything new about its western debut.

I hope it works on my Moto G2 lol :(

Kinda feels like S-E's whole mobile western localization is on hold or something. Besides Record Keeper (which is handled by DeNA I think), their last mobile game released over here was DQV back in January, right? We also need Dimensions 2 and Chaos Rings III :(

Same situation. Does better than G-BIKE, but I think they're trying to find an ideal monetization model before bringing it over.

Record Keeper, which came over, performs very well.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting CR3 to take this long to be localized, hopefully it's still coming.

They haven't localised any here, but they did release Heavenstrike Rivals, which is a joint effort from SE Japan and a French company some time ago, as well as Masters of Masks. Hevaenstrike Rivals is notable because they actually localised that one into Japanese and are marketing it now.

I'm starting to think neither Agito, G-Bike or Mobius will actually be localised in the end.

The ship has already sailed for CR3, at best we'll get a fan translation.

We're gonna get a Type-0 all over again, aren't we? ):

Whatever happened to that FF Brave Exvius game anyway? Wasn't it supposed to be out already? Did it get cancelled.

Wanted that just for delicious new FF 2D sprites.

What are they monetising on this?

Stamina restoration via elixirs, and gacha pulls for cards. There won't be any cost for chapters or jobs. But the cards equipped on the character give both passive buffs as well as active skills for combat, so they serve as a form of ability equipment.

Mobius will be released worldwide for sure. They've mentioned it many times, localization is underway, and I think they will probably announce it at E3 or something.

They simultaneously announced it for Japan and the rest of the world with a 2015 release date when Mevius was revealed, but besides that they've not said anything else. The English website they had isn't even online anymore lol

Also re: CR3, nothing official at the moment, but honestly, why would they? It probably wouldn't sell much anyway, on Vita or mobile.

Since this is the new active Mobius thread, there's a video I saw the other day from Famitsu: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aWOfx0mq-8

It's about 30 minutes long, so I'll have some time markers for the interesting stuff.

~4:00 - Showing off the social stuff again, where you can "encounter" other players and add them to a friend list while waiting around on the world map.

~15:46 - They're showing off the globe map where you pick chapters and events. There's also a gacha banner at the top for card pulls, stating that 3-star rare cards and above are guaranteed! Lol.

~17:40 - Auto-walking on the world map when you pick a location to move to, with battles along the way.

~21:00 - Character customization. They show the Skill Panel system where you spend Crystals to unlock panels which give various stat increases, and when you unlock the bottom right panel for each set, you unlock a new Job. They also show the card deck where you can equip 4 cards at a time for active and passive abilities, cards can be restricted to certain jobs, etc.

~27:00 - They finally show one of the specific locations in the game where you can manually move around and talk to NPCs, etc.

I'm pretty sure they'll relaunch when they have stuff set in stone. Running services is something S-E isn't really used to outside of Japan, so all this stuff is taking them longer to figure out. But out of all their titles, Mobius is definitely the one they won't allow to remain in Japan. It's too big.
