I think at this point we're done with the leather suits. First Class ditched them completely and DOFP saw the old cast transition away from them as well. Wolverine's costume looked pretty good, I thought.

Maintaining the black elements of the costumes made sense for DOFP given the apocalyptic nature of the future timeline. But considering our heroes will be teenagers this time around and it's the 80's, I have to believe that we're finally going to get a heavy usage of color in the suits.
 
At this point I don't need the colourful suits at all. Just give me pure 80's fashion and I'll love the crap out of the film.

That's what I'm hoping for as well.

This would be an awesome excuse to go all out on costumes. It's the 80s for god's sake. Spandex...ehhhhh...maybe that's a bit too far, but make it work!
 
Just rewatched DOFP on Sky Movies. What a brilliant movie that is. In my top 5 favorite comic book films, easily.
 
It's going to be interesting to see what kind of destruction is unleashed by Oscar "Apocalypse" Issac. If things are left in shambles, is another reset in order?
 
And in 1962, Alex Summers was in his early late teens, early 20's... Scott is like 16-19 in 1983, which means his brother would be around 40. I guess if their parents are like 60 years old in that pic it would work. But man, having kids 20 years apart doesn't seem correct, especially if Lucas Till is in this movie and doesn't look like he's 40 years old (which he won't unless it's another actor).

Agreed. I mean I'd love colorful costumes as well but just looking at that pic with Jubilee and Jean got me hyped. I got a burst of nostalgia when I saw that. They really nailed the look good.

It's unusual, but it has happened before. Scott could be an accident, for instance.

Naw, the dad looks older but she looks younger. Back then, people had kids in their late teens and married young. So she could've had alex at 16-19 and Scott at 35-39. I dunno, I trust Singer would get his second shot at the Xmen universe right.

But surely if Cyclops is a young man in the 80's, then Corsair must've been abducted by aliens at some point in the 70's, yes? I think it still follows.

Someday, people will start making movies that go the fully comic book. Granted, it's probably the day the superhero movie bubble bursts, but it will be glorious for a hot second.

I have a feeling they're ignoring the aging process as how it works in real life. I think it's going to be more like the comic where no one ages after a certain time except for story/plot based reasons.
 
Corsair needs to never be in a film.

I think the way comics skirt details as far as when events specifically occur and even more so, the way in which they release, massively distorts the audience perception of time. This is before even factoring in the suspension of disbelief that most of us apply on top of that.

Films don't have all of that. It's going to be weird, so we may as well prepare.
 
For the love of God, Singer, keep some surprises. Movie doesn't hit for another year and you blew tonnes of stuff in DoFP via your 150 updates.
 
Okay, so Jackman is so very obviously in this. On his facebook page he just posted a video of him a 1000lb deadlift for the first time the other day. Why the fuck would he be pumping this hard unless he was in Apocalypse?

The next Wolverine film isn't gonna hit for another 2 years.

Anyway, pretty good effort for a 47 year old.

It's possible this goes full xmen tas and mystique joins apocalypse, so jackedman becomes a horseman, and Fox awkwardly tries to keep that a surprise
 
Is it bad that I'm much more excited about the bound-to-be terrible first EW character pictures than I am the first trailer?

Man, that was so much fun when we got the EW first look for DoFP. :p

I've been seeing this picture around on twitter today. It's Cyclops, and Jean going against Storm. No idea why, I imagine they're training in the danger room.
Another interesting thing that came up was that Storm will have a mohawk. Info comes from the latest issue of Empire magazine.
